Modern rooms in a historic building make for a pleasant surprise. The location is convenient, and it is a short walk to many museums. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I liked being able to open my window to get fresh air while sleeping. The bathroom was modern, with a great shower and plenty of hot water. The €24 breakfast buffet is excellent. It includes fresh fruit, yogurt, nuts, dried fruits, boiled eggs, and a large assortment of breads and pastries. The staff was friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Beautiful decor, excellent room layout and organization, gracious, kind, and helpful staff. Location cannot be beat. Great amenities and breakfast with high quality versions of everything I need. Accommodating to our young children aged 2 and 5. Will be staying again.

Wonderful cosy hotel in an ideal location. Short walk to 3 different metro stations, even shorter walk to the river. Our room was small, but it was cosy and clean (Also we paid for a small room and it is Paris so I expected a small room). The staff were all lovely. Breakfast is continental buffet.

Fantastic service. From the time we entered to the time we left the service was fantastic and welcoming. The rooms were clean and the hotel was conveniently located. Paul was excellent as well as the manager with white hair. We got excellent recommendations from the staff for dinner. Would recommend this place to stay!! Thank you for a wonderful stay

A cute small hotel opposite the Louvre. The rooms are clean and relatively new, so is the bathroom. Nice service, although you have to give in your keys when you leave the hotel, which I’m not used to.

The wifi works every couple minutes, very unreliably. Walls are so thin -- we never heard silence or anything remotely close to it. We heard our neighbors' conversations and the sex they had -- VERY hard to fall asleep. Good location and comfortable bed though.

Google
The most delightful small hotel in Paris! Perfectly located in the 6th with charming (tiny) rooms, a lovely lobby and breakfast room, great bed and bath linens, super gracious and friendly staff, on a quiet street just two blocks from the Seine...  Stayed here 12 years ago and was so glad to return! A small gem in the City of Light. xox

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Verneuil. Impressive and well functioning hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Quaint rooms. And the location is ideal, close to the Louvre, and accessible to the Batobus water taxi.

Yelp
Lovely boutique style hotel that is very central to all major attractions. We walked to the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and Lovre without too much effort at all! The hotel is on a quiet street near shopping and restaurants and only a few blocks from the Siene River. The rooms are small, but what do you expect for a city (similar to what we've stayed in NYC). Though old, it had modern updates and comfortable amenities. The bathrooms are actually quite large compared to the room size and our room had a large wardrobe and mini bar. We were able to borrow an iron from the front desk when we needed as well. They offer a breakfast in the basement area every morning for €12-18 depending on what you want. We opted to get breakfast out each day, but it looked nice. One thing I did notice is that our A/C unit needed cleaned and the bathroom, since there was no fan, got very steamy and therefore there was some mold on the ceiling. The receptionists were helpful when needed, and they ask that you leave your key when you leave the hotel, which was nice because they are very old and heavy... however one thing that was a big scary was when you come back you just ask for your room number and no one checks who you are! (Good thing there is a safe in each room for valuables!) They give you a free cell phone with your room that have cell service, WiFi, and maps for the area etc... very helpful if you don't have service on your own phone! Overall, very nice hotel and great location. We would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Hmmm I like this hotel if it had just been my husband and I but it was both of us and three kids, one of them a toddler, and it just wasn't for us. We arrived in Paris at 8 am and to the hotel around 9 am. We asked if they had early check in and they said no but they'll try to get our room as soon as possible. We were so tired and I had barely slept but decided to explore the city. My two oldest kids stayed behind to rest in the small Lobby and my husband, one year old and I decided to walk around. We came back around 12:30 pm and we still needed to wait but thankfully we got a room at 1 pm. Now there was no elevator and we had to go up a flight of stairs with a bunch of luggage and a stroller. I think we may have had a helper but I hadn't slept in 32 hours so I can't remember. Either way, we got to the room and it was VERY SMALL. I'm not sure how we made it work but it worked because we asked if we could just stay one night and cancel the rest of the week. As our luck would have it, they said no and we were stuck there. To make our trip better, our daughters got a room 3 floors away. The elevator was sauna hot and impossible to fit more than three people or one person and more than two luggages. The room keys were huge and for some reason it was hard for our door to open and would get stuck. We always left the keys with the person in the lobby so I guess that's one less thing to worry but in this day and age, can't the doors be updated? The floors also creaked and I thought they were not even because one side of the room dipped more than the other. Bathrooms were small and dark and were open so the floor would get wet easily. Thankfully, our daughters room had a tub that we had to take our one year old in order to bathe him. Location: excellent!! everything was a walking distance and you can take the metro that pretty much takes you to all the must see places. Food: I never tried breakfast here but I did hear it in the basement. The lobby would have water but after a few days, they would run out a lot so we had to get water elsewhere. Customer Service: Workers are very nice and helpful. They offer to keep our stroller in the lobby after a couple of days of struggling with it up and down the steps. Offer us water and if we needed any information they were willing to help. Overall, I love Paris and this boutique hotel is recommended but for couples or single people. Definitely not for a family as we were all over the place and it just wasn't comfortable for us.

Yelp
Very very nice staff. Great location, safe neighborhood, easy to walk to museums. Hotel looks very chic in pictures but is a little run down in person. The biggest issues were the room smelling terribly of harsh chemical cleaning products and a ceiling leak dripping brown liquid into my bathroom.

Yelp
Perfect boutique hotel with lots of charm & character. I spent a week here and had the best sleep ever! The staff were so nice, especially Joseph, and gave great recommendations on where to eat and what to do. Would come back to stay here again when we return to Paris. Thank you Hotel Verneuil!

Yelp
I really wanted to love Hôtel Verneuil -- it's on my favorite street and is, as others have said, ideally situated. Unfortunately, there is nothing that makes it stand out from the other boutique hotels in the area. The rooms are indeed small, which is to be expected. The bathrooms are so small they are almost unfunctional, which is not to be expected. Breakfast buffet haphazard in both offerings and service. Hôtel Verneuil is not inexpensive; at the price point I expected something a little better. Three stars for distinctly average; you can probably do better.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this hotel. It was exquisitely Parisian. They had tiny rooms, but who doesn't in Paris? It had a vintage feel to it, with old books that were used to decorate the lobby. Mostly dark decor, but we loved the interior design of the hotel. The stairs and elevator were tiny, but we were just fine with it. The bathrooms and rooms were extremely nice, outfitted with black and white stripes and gray linens. It was a little pricey, but we stayed at an equally pricey hotel near the Champs Elysee district when we went back to Paris, and it was a far cry from Hotel Verneuil. The staff is excellent - very professional, helpful, and kind. The woman who works the desk in the daytime seems extremely resourceful and knowledgeable. If you are only in Paris for a few days, we recommend a city tour that you book through the hotel. You only need the half day tour for Versailles (if even that). The city tour is highly recommended because they take you to the hot tourist spots in Paris, and drop you off at a few of the biggest attractions - Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Montemartre, and an area with the perfect photo op for the Eiffel Tower that we would've never have found on our own. WE LOVED OUR CITY TOUR GUIDE. We forgot his name, but he was wonderful. If you are interested in seeing one location for a greater length of time, you can plan to do that the next day. But the city tour allows you to pick and choose the spots you want to spend your time at during your short stay in Paris. The night time desk attendant is a very honest and funny guy. He tried to save us money by having us take the metro to the airport! He was also very humble. I would highly recommend this hotel and you should consider staying here if you ever come to the City of Light!

Yelp
We loved staying here. It's on a quiet one way just two streets from the river. I would highly recommend the experience of staying on the left bank and in a boutique hotel. Hotel Verneuil is a great option but realize it's a small business and not a major hotel. They have breakfast, but we just walked a block or two and found a latte/croissant instead. It's probably nit picking but the location isn't really close to a metro stop. It's about 10 minutes from Muse D'Orsay and 15 from St. Michelle/Norte dame. It's in a great location and Paris is a walking city, but be prepared for the half mile plus to a train stop.

Yelp
this place is NOT a 4 star hotel. The rooms are tiny and most dont have closets. the breakfast is appalling. serving coco puffs in the box.... the hotel is dirty and the housekeepers keep their equipment on the stairs at all times. the walls are super thin and you can hear everything. The hotel is a 17th century building so everything is tiny. you have to sit sideways on the toilet because there is not enough space for your legs if you are at all tall. the staff is very nice, but this place is a disaster... i have stayed at all the 4 star hotels in this area for the last 7 years and this isnt even close.

Yelp
Well the good first. Location is great and bed is nice. Other than that- NOPE. You have to turn your key in when you leave and pick up when you get back like you are 5 years old. Only one spiral staircase that is super dangerous leans and scary. Teeny tiny elevator that barely fits 2 adults after you climb one flight of stairs. Room soooo tiny. Doesn't feel clean. Hotels in same area much bigger, nicer rooms for close price range. If you go outside they come out to ask for your key even if you are just making a call. Shower not functional. Cleaning lady left windows open all day in 40 degrees so when we got back room was FREEZING for over an hour. Never restocked coffee had to ask everyday. Old, dingy, some front desk people helpful but a few were not. I would look for another place. The continental breakfast is 18 dollars but nothing more than the cheapest of US hotels. It's kinda weird to hike a scary staircase that leans and have to check in an out as you want to come and go with front desk. Just get new lock systems. As adults paying our coming and going is not your business. Room nothing special. For being so small additional storage would have been nice.

Yelp
This hotel is slap bang in the middle of Paris, right by the Musée d'Orsay and at the western end of the Blvd St Germain in the 7ieme. Whenever go to Paris these days I always check in here, because it is clean, well serviced and well placed, as well as being great value or money. I love that it is opposite the old home of Serge Gainsbourg, and that you can enjoy the graffiti wall every time you walk out of the hotel and down Rue Verneuil. It's a short ride in the taxi from Gare du Nord, for those coming into Paris on the Eurostar, and otherwise, close to respective RER stations and within walking distance of MANY of the major sites Paris offers, from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower and more. Definitely worth a stay if you are heading to Paris, though you may want to look towards the 'golden triangle' if you want to stay in style and luxury!

Yelp
Wonderful staff - very accommodating & helpful; gave many suggestions for local restaurants, guidance for transportation, & tickets for local attractions. Hotel was perfect - walking distance to many sights, modern amenities, and authentic architecture & interior design.

Yelp
My husband and I took a road trip through France for our honeymoon and completed our stay in Paris. We chose the hotel verneuil because of it's location and boutique feel. It is central to everything (and great for walking---which is essentially the national pastime of Paris). The room itself was tiny (typical for European city hotels), but very comfortable. We loved the decor (modern, but also vintage from a bygone era at the same time) as well. The only downside to the room was the bathroom which would get extremely steamy and wet following a shower. We used up a lot of towels to try to keep the floor dry/safe. As for the amenities of the hotel and service, A++. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous about everything whether it was needing to borrow an umbrella, restaurant recommendations, or directions. My husband also forgot his wedding ring in the room and we came back to a clean room AND a ring, so that shows you right there how trustworthy they are. The breakfast was also amazing and served in a basement that felt like a wine cave. Traditional French and American foods (ie. the best bread I've ever had in my life, cheese, fruit, prosciutto, etc. but also eggs, muffins, bacon, cereal, etc.). I'm getting hungry (and a bit sad) just thinking about how much I miss those breakfasts. Overall we cannot recommend this hotel enough. Should we ever make it back to Paris (which is a long-off future plan once we do some other European traveling), we will definitely stay here. A couple of things to know before you go: -depending on where you book, you may end up paying when you actually are at the hotel rather than ahead of time. I did not realize this as we had prepaid for every other service/hotel/etc. we booked so the extra charge on my credit card came as a rather unwelcome shock. But part of that may have been my lack of attention to detail when reading the emails. -If you plan on using their car service to pick you up from the airport, while convenient is expensive. You can find other services to get you to and from for cheaper.

Yelp
I stayed here twice some years ago (2004 & 2006) before they renovated the original owner sold the hotel and it was renovated. Lovely St. Germain location that's on the border of the 6th and 7th arrondisements. If interested, Serge Gainsbourg's former home is opposite the hotel. As for the hotel itself the standard rooms are extremely tiny although the standard room bathroom I booked in 2004 had a bathroom that was so nice and frankly almost as large as the bedroom itself. If possible, book the deluxe rooms which are larger. The walls are thin as is usual in many Parisian hotels although they will say they offer soundproofing. The staff were helpful and welcoming, however, I did have a few service issues. Whether or not the desk clerks are the same in 2014 I don't know so my comments may not be applicable. The first stay what my aunt and I believed to have been complimentary refreshments offered by the clerk turned out not to be so. We returned flustered after a very harrassing taxi ride and the desk clerk offered us a rest and refreshment in their lobby. She did not mention that they were for purchase. So it was a surprise to see the costs on my hotel bill upon checkout. The last stay we had a B&B rate, however, the same desk clerk put the breakfast charges on my bill. I had to prove that the breakfast was indeed included in the rate by showing my printed email confirmation which is something a guest should not have to do as it is awkward and irksome. Another occasion my husband asked a different desk clerk when the Musee d' Orsay (nearby in walking) would be open, but she did not know nor did she try to inquire. Otherwise, my stays were good.

Yelp
great location, nice staff, tiny rooms, nice bathrooms
