Warsaw Travel Guide: This Hip Eastern European City Is One of the Best Places to Travel This Year

"It’s now possible to sleep in a Baroque palace just steps from Warsaw’s Old Town thanks to Hotel Verte Warsaw Marriott Autograph Collection composing the Branicki and Szaniawski palaces. Each of the 94 playful bedrooms highlights 18th-century features, while Chef Maciej Majewski keeps patrons entertained and well-nourished at KUK's ‘neo-bistro.’" - Kasia Dietz

"Hotel Verte checks all of the boxes. Location? It’s just steps from Warsaw’s charming Old Town and Royal Castle. History? It just so happens to be a restored baroque palace. And then there’s its inimitable style. So many restored palace are, well, stuffy, but not Hotel Verte. Instead, its signature flair is a soft sophistication marrying respect for tradition with an courant eye—think boutique hotel hiding inside a palatial historic building. There is a spa as well as several restaurants and a bar, but the place to hold court is at the garden restaurant." - Tablet Hotels

What an excellent stay we had, unfortunately only for a single night this first time. The building is simply magnificent, a very tasteful combination of classical and modern elements, with a lot of attention paid to the lighting. The rooms are not the largest, but they are definitely not cramped and very well equipped. Bed is excellent and so is the bathroom. We had inner courtyard views, which both during the rain shower and the next morning was lovely to see and very quiet. The spa area is small, but we'll stocked and very clean as expected. There is a single sauna and a hammam, but in total we were only three people during the Saturday afternoon. Breakfast is exceptional, with both an excellent buffet with the usual and fresh cakes and pastries, and very tasty a la carte options, where chefs can accommodate for dietary restrictions as well. Staff in all areas was very friendly and courteous, but a special mention goes to Ola and Bartek who took excellent care of us during breakfast. We will definitely be back for future visits to Warsaw, hopefully with slightly better weather. |Side note: be aware that Ubers tend to drop you not at the main entrance (which requires passing through the main gate of the castle) , but on the street next to the bar entrance. If you continue a bit further along the street (towards the west), you can access the reception directly through a larger door.

My partner and I stayed for five nights during the third week of August (I am a Polish American visiting Warsaw for the first time in 20 years). This is an exceptional property across design, service, and location. I was familiar with this location because the palace was a former aristocratic residence rebuilt after WW2. When I heard that its comprehensive restoration would result in a five-star hotel, I knew I had to stay here one day. Our stay did not disappoint. Our only minor issue was that we would have preferred a room on a higher level over the ground floor, but we never had any noise issues during out stay. I highly recommend for your next Warsaw stay!

One of the most beautiful hotels in Warsaw. It has a great location in old town, very kind service and the breakfast was just amazing. Both buffet and à la carte. We got to use their spa, my kobido massage was so great, I didn’t want it to end. It was a perfect mix of old infrastructure mixed with modern, clean style which gave an ultimate feeling of luxury. We will definitely get back 🤍 great value for the money spent.

A beautiful property in a prime location by Castle Square. Hotel Verte is an excellent value, with facilities, atmosphere, service, and location comparable to much pricier five-star hotels I've experienced in Warsaw. My nicely appointed room with a king bed was spacious, and the bathroom (with a heated marble floor) was possibly the largest I've seen in any hotel. ||My only concern about the hotel was that there was no obvious security between the public areas and guest rooms, i.e., anyone can seemingly enter from the street and have access to guest corridors by either the staircases or elevators. I can only assume that the entrances not adjacent to the front desk/reception area are constantly monitored by cameras, especially when no one is tending the bar.||Even despite this (possible) flaw, I can highly recommend the Verte and would be happy to make it my home during future visits to Warsaw.

The hotel is beautiful. Each room is different with lovely architectural details. The Pawilon breakfast is phenomenal. Fresh buffet offerings, with yogurt, fruit, pastries, fresh breads, salad, vegetables, plus unique dishes from the kitchen. All of the food is presented elegantly. So close to Old Town Warsaw. Highly recommend The Verte Hotel.

I stayed here in August and was absolutely ASTOUNDED at the exquisite service of the staff here, truly everyone here but especially Krzysztof!! Krzysztof was so intensely thoughtful and professional that I have been meaning to leave a review for months and feel so guilty I haven't yet - this man stops at nothing to give you a 5-star experience in a beautiful city in a beautiful country!! I attended a wedding in Poland in August (ie stayed here with the rest of the wedding party). The rooms are beautiful, it is walking distance to historical Warsaw, oh - and breakfast is amazing, too - but I just really wanted highlight my review to acknowledge and appreciate the very competent, skilled and friendly staff, who exhibited that perfect balance of being extraordinarily helpful without being overbearing. On the day of the wedding, I asked reception for last-minute help to find a hairdresser because these are hard things to navigate in a foreign country *especially last minute (of course)😅.* Krzysztof was immediately on the phone, calling nearby salons and then proceeding to book an appointment for me, followed by having a taxi ready for me, and getting me out the door on time. (This level of service was NOT expected but it was HUGELY welcome and incredibly helpful!!) Again, separate occasion, thoughtful, above and beyond his job duties: my family was planning a bus tour with a local guide and it was Krzysztof's idea (not the local tour guide!! lol) to end our tour in the park so we can see the summer Chopin performance AND Krzysztof went ahead and gave us blankets to sit on anticipating the crowdedness of the event and the possibility that seats would be taken -- MUCH appreciated and definitely used!!!! So, of course, on the whole cannot recommend enough. This is a place where you get what you pay for, and this is the way I like to spend my vacations. Thank you Hotel Verte and staff for the very enjoyable and stress-free stay!!!

Excellent hotel steps from Old town Square. Located in beautiful palace buildings that have been redesigned with all the modern features one could want. The restaurant Pawilon for breakfast was so good! I did not have a chance to try the other restaurant. Don’t miss the small lobby bar- delicious drinks and great bartender! Service was excellent and hotel was very clean.

Wow. What a hotel! We absolutely loved this place. An old palace that has been lovingly restored with both historical and modern features. |Bedrooms are beautiful, well equipped and comfortable with gorgeous bathrooms and walk in showers. |Every member of staff we came across was so friendly and helpful. |We ate in the restaurant and my partner had the 10 course tasting menu which he said was incredible, for me the vegan offering was absolutely delicious. |The breakfast really is something as well, we added this on for our last minute and we wish we had been hungrier- it could last several hours and you could have so many dishes! |The location is excellent just on the edge of the old town with the market square easily accessible by foot. |We had the best stay for a long weekend city break, thank you Hotel Verte!
