Hotel Vesuvio is a quaint, family owned and operated hotel on Rapallo beach. We enjoyed our stay and we enjoyed meeting the owner and his family. Because we had a Mini Cooper, the owner made certain we had a reserved parking spot for our entire stay. The rooms are spotless as is the entire building. Breakfast was excellent each and every day with amazing breads, cheeses, fruit, pastries and coffee. I had a double Americano every morning. Soooo good. In addition, the hotel is located in an excellent spot with many nice restaurants and shopping within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel. It’s not luxury in that sense, but it is a good value for the money. Our room was updated with a balcony and directly ocean front. From that perspective, I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

Three friends and I stayed 6 nights here in June in Superior rooms with side sea views. The hotel has recently been renovated and the rooms were very comfortable and clean with the usual amenities, including excellent showers and aircon. The hotel is family run and they and the staff were charming and always ready to help. There was a good variety of choices at breakfast and, as others have noted, the coffee was excellent. The location on the sea front is great, about 5 minutes' walk from the train station, 15 minutes' walk to the cable car to Montallegro with lovely views over Rapallo and a short walk to the 16th century sanctuary church, and almost opposite the ferry for trips to Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, San Fruttuoso and the Cinque Terre (a lovely day trip along the coast, but only on Sundays and Wednesdays when we were there). There's a great choice of restaurants along the sea front near the hotel and in the streets behind. Having stayed in Santa Magherita Ligure 3 years ago, I much prefer Rapallo, particularly as a base for visiting the area, and we would highly recommend Hotel Vesuvio as the place to stay.

Loved this hotel’s location in Rapallo, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was fantastic with lots of options. The room we selected was small but it had everything we needed and it was perfectly designed to use the space effectively. The air-conditioning worked well which was key with 40 degree heat! We also loved sitting out on the small balcony overlooking the harbour in the evenings watching all the action below from tourists walking the promenade to the vespas speeding by. ||The staff gave us great dinner recommendations - which was so helpful. We prefer not to eat in all of the touristy restaurants but rather try some more authentic places.

Absolute gem of a hotel. Don't think about booking this hotel. Location, service, quality is much better than 3* that they are advertising. Honestly, during my two weeks stay in Italy, including many 5 star hotels, this was the best hotel overall. Also location is perfect to stroll around the town, sightseeing to local area etc. You really cannot go wrong with Vesuvio.

Stayed here for 2 nights last week and we had a room with a side sea view with a balcony. Whilst the room was small it was very modern and immaculately clean with a decent shower in the bathroom. |The staff on reception at check in and afterwards were helpful and polite and took time to provide us with maps with things to see and do which was good. |Breakfast was ample with lots of choice to suit everyone and as previous reviews say the coffee was excellent 👍 and the views of the seafront whilst having breakfast was nice. |Rapallo is a lovely town with lots of places to eat / drink both on the seafront and the myriad of tiny back streets. |Great resort and hotel 👍.

We got a very warm welcome, great help and service at the reception. The family room we got had an amazing view of the sea, street, restaurants. Mini fridge in the room has very reasonable prices. Tv in both kid and grown ups room. The bathroom had everything we needed and was very fresh and clean. Small but very variated and yum breakfast.

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Vesuvio and loved it. It is a well run family hotel located right at the waterfront. Treat yourself to a balcony room facing the street, some of the best people watching you will ever have. The family runs the house and they went out of their way to help us in every way! They are friendly and fun and just want you to have a great time. We had an early Sunday train to catch and they made sure we had a taxi booked and on time for us. Rapallo is a great little town and a great place to see both Portifino and Cinque Terre from If you go there, you should stay at Hotel Vesuvio.
