Hotel Vettonia

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this hotel. For a budget hotel, just know that is what you are getting. We needed a 1 night stay so it was fine. First of all it says free street parking. We did find a spot but it was several blocks away and the spots weren't plentiful so we were thankful when we found it. There is a public garage but it is several blocks away and I don't like our car being that far away. When we checked in they are very nice. We had a 4 single beds room reserved & at first glance it was very nice. Plenty cool with the A/C. However, after walking all around our teenage son went into the bathroom (which happened to be their handicap accessible room) to take a shower & the water backed up & he ended up with water all over the floor. It was not ideal. We talked to the front desk but since it was at night he wasn't able to do anything about it. So we just asked for extra towels to soak it up. Then when we showered we had to use those towels to make a dam where the shower stopped and only ran the minimum of water

Best value hotel you will find. Incredible is rates 2 stars (might be because is small - so hurry up and book it now). First time I write a review in Tripadvisor because is worth it. Good location: walking distance to tourist venues. We were lucky to be at Roman parade weekend, not sure how on will be the city on regular weekends. Room and spaces very clean and cared. Very helpful staff.

A small hotel within walking distance of the centre of Merida. No hotel parking but the wonderfully helpful young receptionist told us that street parking in the area is free. In the end, we decided to use a nearby 24-hour parking building, which was very reasonably priced for our overnight stay (approx. €11). ||Our hotel room was a good-sized, spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed and sparkling bathroom. There are no restaurant or breakfast facilities within the hotel except for a snacks & drinks machine but there are a couple of cafes on the corner.

This lovely hotel is around the corner from the Bullring and no more than ten minutes walk to whatever attraction you might want to see. AND, we found free parking about a block away - never moved the car for three days. Clean, quiet, and very comfortable bed and pillows. Will stay there again if we go back to Mérida.

You can walk to all the major attractions from the hotel and best of all, if arriving by car, there is easy parking everywhere. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the staff very friendly, in particular MªAngeles. Although there isn't a restaurant/bar in the hotel, thirty seconds walk away is Bar Suarez which is great for breakfast. A good lunch or dinner option is nearby Las Extremañas which is popular with locals as it's off the tourist track. I would stay here again without a doubt.

Quite convenient location (5 minutes on foot to downtown) and practical if you arrive by car as free parking is possible in the streets surrounding the hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Overall the rooms are modern and new. Recommended place for sure.

I found this hotel through Booking.com. The reason for my stay was to pay a short visit to a friend in Merida. Well, I brought a gift I wanted to give to my friend, and I wanted to give it to her someplace private. I don't think I need to disclose the reason for doing this, do I? Well, I brought her to the hotel, went in and the gentleman at reception greeted us, we did so back and headed upstairs to my room. Two minutes later, I received a call from reception asking me to pay more money because the room I was staying in was a single room and not a double. At that moment, I felt embarrassed in the presence of my friend because who in their mind would call a customer in their room at 02:00 am to ask him to pay more for his room given that now it was two of us and not just me??? I was very upset. Really upset. My friend spent less than 2 hours in my room. No, she didn't stay with me. But I still paid for a double room. I think the person behind the desk went overboard with me and did not do his job professionally. I don't recommend staying at this place unless you have absolutely no other choice, and if I was you, I would be sure to check with reception before doing anything you might think is ok, but later would be added to your bill... I will never ever do business again with these thieves.

We were allowed to drop our bags off early. They gave us a map and directions to get to the Roman sites. The room was very clean and had heat. It is within walking distance to all the main sites of Merida. A very pleasant stay.
