This lovely hotel is very close to the train station but is so much nicer than hotels usually found around European train stations. It is located just inside the old city wall, a 5-minute walk from the train station, close to the historic city center and the fabulous German National Museum, and an easy 15–20-minute walk to the castle. A great location for exploring Nuremberg! Victoria Hotel is in a historic building, with a pleasantly modern and sophisticated interior. Our room, located on the first floor, was a quiet and nicely appointed, a typical European room size with a comfortable bed, and a nice bathroom with a shower and the usual amenities such as hair dryer, shampoo, and bath gel; if you want hair conditioner, ask at the desk. The room photos on the hotel’s website are accurate. The hotel has a cute, small bar and a comfortable lounge area away from the desk noise and front door. The buffet breakfast was the best and most varied we have experienced in our years of traveling in Germany. The staff were great: gracious, clear, and helpful at every turn. We really enjoyed our stay here, highly recommend this hotel, and hope to stay there again.
