Hotel Victoria

The Hotel Victoria is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Stavanger. I’ve stayed there two times in the past 10 years and both times have been excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast bar is amazing. I got to try authentic Norwegian food and it was delicious. I highly recommend it.

Such an amazing hotel. Reception staff are amazing happy to help and very knowledgeable room was amazing very clean. The gym was very good and clean enjoyed my workout. Breakfast was amazing a very good variety. I think I've found my new destination hub ..I travel a lot. But Norway has left a special place in my heart. Definitely be back Hotel Victoria team thank you 💞

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely polite, respectful, and attentive. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was excellent with a great variety. It was my wife’s birthday, and the hotel kindly upgraded our room, which made our stay even more special. Overall, everything was perfect and I truly appreciate their outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!

The hotel is very beautiful and wonderful old time music is played in the restaurant and even in the elevator. The beds, pillows, comforters are supreme quality, as are the toiletries. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with a peaceful old world environment. ||My room overlooked the harbour and had an amazing view of the city. ||Don’t stay anywhere else in Stavanger! ||I fell in love with the whole place. The staff was so lovely and welcoming.

If you are planning a stay in Stavanger, Hotel Victoria is the perfect choice! This elegant hotel, located right in the heart of the city, offers fantastic beds, a delicious breakfast, and very good service. The restaurant Pigalle is excellent, so if you combine it with its central location, you will have the best hotel experience in town!. Highly recommended.

As a frequent traveler to Stavanger I have tried Hotel Victoria a couple of times. While it is a nice looking hotel, perhaps a bit similar to Londons The Stafford, the experience I have had during my stays here is very far from what you would expect from a hotel like this. In winter time the rooms are generally very cold, and the hotel is very noisy. For my last stay I booked a deluxe room, which had a desk, something that is convenient for a business traveler like me. The room, 414, was located right next to the stairs and elevator, and was right next to a part of the hotel being renovated. I was planning to work, but that was made impossible by the sound of the construction workers and the music they were playing. When they finally left, a group of drunk hotel guests decided to have a party in the hall, something which continued throughout the evening. The hotel did not offer solutions to either problem. In sum, this is not a good option for business travelers, families, or anyone who wants a quiet and relaxed stay at a hotel. If you do decide to stay here, I suggest you try to avoid the rooms ending on nr 14 as they are the most exposed to noise.

We visited the Victoria Hotel for their Tea Time Breakfast, which you can book in advance. The experience was lovely — it includes coffee or tea, along with a selection of delicious bites to enjoy. From smoked salmon sandwiches to freshly baked pastries, everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. The only small downside was that our waiter seemed a bit unsure about which items were included in the set and had to double-check a few times. However, she was polite and helpful overall. All in all, it was a wonderful experience in a great location — definitely worth visiting for a relaxing and tasty morning treat!

Great hotel! We stayed at Hotel Victoria for two nights in August. Check-in was easy, but the first room they offered to us had a stain on the sheets. They switched us to a different room immediately, and it was perfectly clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was a good temperature and water pressure. The shower did spill water almost everywhere because of the design of the bathroom. The breakfast spread was immense, and there are options for every diet and placards for many of the dishes indicating common allergens. In spite of a few minor critiques, I would still recommend Hotel Victoria for your stay in Stavanger.

This review is for the cocktail bar. We did not stay at this hotel but now I wish we had. The cocktail bar was an absolute experience. The atmosphere was sublime and the drinks were some of the best cocktails I've had. Our bartender and new friend Kareem (sp?) made the experience. He is a credit to his craft and a kind and friendly soul. Stop in and have him make you a drink you will not regret it.

I stayed at Victoria Hotel over the August Bank Holiday weekend and used it as a base for hiking up to Preikestolen, exploring the Lysefjord and Stavanger. The hotel was conveniently located close enough to everything but far enough away to make it quiet. The staff were helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable too. Our deal meant that we had breakfast included which was a good spread of cereals, fruit, bread and cooked food, very handy ahead of a day of hiking. I would stay here again.
