Hotel Victoria (Stavanger, Rogaland) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Hotel Victoria has looked out over Stavanger’s harbor since 1900, a turreted landmark with roots as deep as the city’s modern history. Once home to the city’s first cinema, and host to royals from Norway to Siam, it has long been part of the city’s cultural fabric. Inside, the 107 rooms are individually styled with antique accents, custom furnishings, and tall windows that frame the blue waters or city streets below. Some rooms still retain original chandeliers and timber floors. Nestled right along the waterfront, with boutiques, cafés, and the old town just a few steps away, it is a classic, refreshed for today’s travelers." - Tablet Hotels

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Victoria! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated with a cozy atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the convenient location—close to the city center yet quiet enough for a restful night. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of fresh and tasty options. Overall, Hotel Victoria exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Stavanger. I look forward to staying here again on my next trip!

Hotel Victoria is a very nice hotel near the water in Stavanger. It has historic charm and elegance. The rooms are very nice. We upgraded our room and enjoyed the extra space. The breakfast is amazing. All of the staff are very helpful and provide top-notch service.

One of our favourite hotels in Stavanger. Stylish, old fashioned but modern, in the middle of everything, and with a wonderful staff. Latest years we have celebrated my husbands birthday here, but we usually have a stay or two more pr year. Great breakfast, wonderful bar. Nothing to complain about - already looking forward to next time!

Our experience at this hotel was deeply disappointing and far from what was advertised. The room did not meet expectations based on the photos and descriptions online, but what truly ruined the stay was the unbearable noise on Saturday night. After returning from a long day of hiking, we hoped to get some much-needed rest. Instead, we found ourselves essentially trying to sleep in what felt like a nightclub. A party or wedding was taking place, and the music and shouting were so loud that sleep was impossible. We called reception multiple times. While the staff were polite and apologetic, they repeatedly assured us the event would end by midnight. Midnight came and went — the noise continued. We called again and were told “just ten more minutes,” but the loud music and yelling persisted well beyond that. It’s unacceptable that guests are placed directly next to such events without any warning or alternative arrangements. At the very least, rooms should be allocated in a way that allows guests to rest undisturbed. Unfortunately, this hotel stay was the lowlight of our time in Stavanger. We cannot recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

WOW! The staff was SO accommodating. We were visiting from the states and found very few issues with the language barrier, until we needed to cancel a dinner reservation. No options in English! The wonderful woman behind the desk picked up a phone, dialed the number, and canceled on my behalf. FACTOR IN THE WORLD CLASS BREAKFAST WHEN LOOKING AT PRICE! I forgot all about the complimentary breakfast when we arrived, and oh wow did it deliver. Food for every pallet and a brown cheese flight that had me hooked. Stellar location and incredible amenities. Do not skip the hotel bar. The drinks were very experimental in that i had seen nothing like them anywhere else, and they were all incredible. I tried maybe 6 different ones during my stay and each one was better than the last. One even comes with a macaroon! I'm not sure when I will be in Stavanger next, but when I am, I will be staying at the Victoria Hotel.

Ok — probably among the best in town. Well-located, decent room. Solid breakfast. The restaurant was closed until August with no notice on the hotel website. The shower is designed to basically flood the bathroom. A sold, safe place to stay

Excellent waterfront location near many restaurants, the Old Town, the coloured streets, fjord tours, yet it's quiet at the same time. A fifteen-minute walk from the #2 bus drop-off, and a 5-10-minute walk from the airport shuttle.A very genteel hotel with a comfortable lobby, a lovely bar and a sidewalk cafe, Cafe du Nord, decorated in true French bistro style. Upscale dining at La Pigalle. A generous breakfast is served on the second floor. There is an adjacent lounge for quiet afternoons with a book and cup of coffee. Beware if arriving on Sunday night--restaurants and bars are closed and you'll be stuck looking for food at 7-Eleven (which also closes early). We went without dinner, so be prepared. Very nice room and lovely (but very small) bathroom.
