Hotel Victoria (Stavanger, Rogaland) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Hotel Victoria has looked out over Stavanger’s harbor since 1900, a turreted landmark with roots as deep as the city’s modern history. Once home to the city’s first cinema, and host to royals from Norway to Siam, it has long been part of the city’s cultural fabric. Inside, the 107 rooms are individually styled with antique accents, custom furnishings, and tall windows that frame the blue waters or city streets below. Some rooms still retain original chandeliers and timber floors. Nestled right along the waterfront, with boutiques, cafés, and the old town just a few steps away, it is a classic, refreshed for today’s travelers." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is very beautiful and wonderful old time music is played in the restaurant and even in the elevator. The beds, pillows, comforters are supreme quality, as are the toiletries. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with a peaceful old world environment. ||My room overlooked the harbour and had an amazing view of the city. ||Don’t stay anywhere else in Stavanger! ||I fell in love with the whole place. The staff was so lovely and welcoming.

I stayed at Hotel Victoria in the beginning of August. I had an amazing and welcoming lady at check in which I believe was the supervisor coming from Greece. The rooms were very clean & was located in a beautiful superior room with view to the port of Stavanger. Breakfast was really good and the offered amazing tea variety with more than ten different tastes. Despite the fact that it was construction I never had an issue during my 4 night stay. The room temperature was very good without any issues or need for a/c. I can’t wait to come back with my family. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We stayed at the Radison Blue and moved here because we didn’t like the Radison. If you are going to Stavanger then the Victoria is your hotel. The rooms were gorgeous and spacious and their measurements on the website do not include the bathrooms- our bathroom was huge!! The beds were superb too and we slept very well. The hotel offered everything you would expect of a luxury hotel and breakfast was also lovely. The only downside was the lack of aircon. We had two rooms- we gave our daughter the outside room and her room was nice and cool with a steady breeze. We stayed in an internal room and boy was it hot in there. The front desk removed the window restrictions for us but that left us with still a hot room but also the not very nice internal courtyard view. So definitely stay in an outside room!!

We visited the Victoria Hotel for their Tea Time Breakfast, which you can book in advance. The experience was lovely — it includes coffee or tea, along with a selection of delicious bites to enjoy. From smoked salmon sandwiches to freshly baked pastries, everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. The only small downside was that our waiter seemed a bit unsure about which items were included in the set and had to double-check a few times. However, she was polite and helpful overall. All in all, it was a wonderful experience in a great location — definitely worth visiting for a relaxing and tasty morning treat!

WOW! The staff was SO accommodating. We were visiting from the states and found very few issues with the language barrier, until we needed to cancel a dinner reservation. No options in English! The wonderful woman behind the desk picked up a phone, dialed the number, and canceled on my behalf. FACTOR IN THE WORLD CLASS BREAKFAST WHEN LOOKING AT PRICE! I forgot all about the complimentary breakfast when we arrived, and oh wow did it deliver. Food for every pallet and a brown cheese flight that had me hooked. Stellar location and incredible amenities. Do not skip the hotel bar. The drinks were very experimental in that i had seen nothing like them anywhere else, and they were all incredible. I tried maybe 6 different ones during my stay and each one was better than the last. One even comes with a macaroon! I'm not sure when I will be in Stavanger next, but when I am, I will be staying at the Victoria Hotel.

Our recent stay at Hotel Victoria was fine but if I were to stay here again, I’d do a couple of things differently. A classic double room is advertised to go as small as 11m, and that’s what we got for our 5-night stay. This room has two twins pushed together and a much smaller bathroom than what’s shown in other’s photos. This was fine for us because we were mostly out, but picking a larger room with more guaranteed space would’ve made our stay more comfortable. A recommendation I have for the hotel is to fit these smaller bathrooms with a different shower head. Because of the long handle, it created a wide angle that basically drenched the entire bathroom whenever it was used, even though we always showered with less water pressure to reduce the splatter. The second thing I’d do differently is call the front desk to specifically request certain things in the room to be cleaned. We only requested cleaning once after our 3rd night and were surprised to find that our sheets weren’t changed nor room vacuumed. It’s possible these are special requests, even if you’re staying longer. Otherwise, the hotel is in a prime location in a super walkable town. We had no issues with noise as others have mentioned from the construction site, events, etc. The breakfast spread is nice, and the dining staff work really hard to accommodate a heavy flow of traffic.

Beautiful, historic hotel with welcoming and helpful staff. Front desk and breakfast attendants were professional and attentive. Hotel Victoria had the best breakfast buffet out of all of the places we stayed!|Cruise ships blocked the view from our room and at breakfast but that is out of the hotel’s control.

What a charming Victorian style hotel, located in the heart of old Stavanger. Great location to walk to restaurants and near by attractions. Staff is cordial and professional, from the Front Desk to Housekeeping, they all strive to provide you with a comfortable as possible stay. The rooms are very comfortable, cozy, in very good condition, I loved the bathroom products provided, Penhaligon's. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel very much, and If visiting Stavanger I will patronize this hotel.

Yelp
Great hotel! We stayed at Hotel Victoria for two nights in August. Check-in was easy, but the first room they offered to us had a stain on the sheets. They switched us to a different room immediately, and it was perfectly clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was a good temperature and water pressure. The shower did spill water almost everywhere because of the design of the bathroom. The breakfast spread was immense, and there are options for every diet and placards for many of the dishes indicating common allergens. In spite of a few minor critiques, I would still recommend Hotel Victoria for your stay in Stavanger.

Yelp
This review is for the cocktail bar. We did not stay at this hotel but now I wish we had. The cocktail bar was an absolute experience. The atmosphere was sublime and the drinks were some of the best cocktails I've had. Our bartender and new friend Kareem (sp?) made the experience. He is a credit to his craft and a kind and friendly soul. Stop in and have him make you a drink you will not regret it.

Yelp
I stayed at Victoria Hotel over the August Bank Holiday weekend and used it as a base for hiking up to Preikestolen, exploring the Lysefjord and Stavanger. The hotel was conveniently located close enough to everything but far enough away to make it quiet. The staff were helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable too. Our deal meant that we had breakfast included which was a good spread of cereals, fruit, bread and cooked food, very handy ahead of a day of hiking. I would stay here again.
