Hotel Victoriano

This is an attractive-looking hotel in a great location near the beach, restaurants, and markets. The security guard/doorman was nice and carried our heavy suitcase up for us. However, otherwise, the service is not the friendliest. No one ever showed up to straighten the room or take out the one tiny trashcan meant to hold used toilet paper and all additional garbage. Though we tried to be careful, it's a beach town and sand accumulates, so we ended up having to mop the floors with a hand towel. Our room had thick concrete walls that the wifi couldn't penetrate. Unlike many hotels in Nicaragua, the Victoriano doesn't have a clean water dispenser for guests to refill their water bottles. They did give us bottled water at check in, but since they never cleaned the room, they also didn't replenish the water, so we ended up buying more bottled water in town. ||Most everything I could shrug off, but if you don't want us flushing toilet paper, you have to empty the trash bin every day, and there ought to be a separate bin for regular garbage.

Great location right across from the beach. Felt safe with a security guard out front the whole time. Breakfast was really good and included. Room was a little tired and could have used a little bit of an update, but not too bad. Went as a family of 5 and they seemed to cater to families of 4 or less, that would be my only real issue.

There aren’t a lot of nice hotels to choose from in San Juan Del Sur. This one looked nicer than most. The building is from the early 1900’s and I could swear it hasn’t been remodeled since it was built 😂 It could definitely do with a refurbish. Made of wood, there is a damp wood smell throughout and the floors creak when walked on. It’s located directly across the Main Street from the beach, but only one room has this view. The rest of the rooms are off the main courtyard. There is air conditioning in the room only (thankfully), but once you leave your room you’re exposed to the awful heat and humidity. Our room came with breakfast, and there were several choices. The food was good, but they only had coffee, no black tea so be sure to bring your own if you are a tea drinker. They will give you a cup of hot water. The staff was nice and friendly. The breakfast area has a nice view if you ignore the multitude of electrical wires blocking the sight line to the beach. But because it’s outside it’s dreadfully hot. They don’t even have ceiling fans. This minor addition would help a bit to cool it off. Also, unfortunately the bed was not comfortable and they never once came to clean our room. We had to ask for clean towels daily. I’m giving the hotel a 3 because of the easy walk to surrounding businesses and the beach nearby. However, if I were to return I would probably look for an Airbnb or try another hotel.

Absolutely loved this place. Yes, the rooms are a little expired but the location and employees make up for it. We came from the United States and could not have been more impressed. There were some hiccup's but that did not take away from our pure satisfaction overall. Highly recommend if this is an option for your trip to San Juan Del Sur. I'm sure that Carlos will meet you as you arrive with a smile (he's the best). Much love for this hotel in many ways.

Don't believe Google, this place is NOT closed! My family needed a room and we lucked out by finding the Victoriano. The rooms were nice, and well maintained. Private bathroom in the room as well, and AC. The hotel is right across the street from the beach, has a pool, and offers breakfast with your stay. The food at the hotel restaurant was amazing!!!

This hotel is beautiful. The view is the best part about staying at this hotel. We booked a room with a king size bed. The room was small. They did have hot water! If you left the shower water run too heavy then the water would start to leak into the bedroom. Not realizing this would happen, I had to put towels down on the floor to keep the water from flooding the bedroom. Reception/front desk leaves early. I tried calling, but no answer. The AC worked well. Overall, I would stay there again.

This place is phenomenal. It's in a terrific location and is an easy walk to everywhere in San Juan Del Sur. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the rooms are perfect. We loved sitting on the porch, having our coffee in the morning, and just watching the world go by. We will definitely come back and stay here.

Fabulous experience! The hotel is gorgeous. Wonderful location. What made my experience particularly amazing was the help, consideration and attentiveness of Carlos. He is a real asset to the hotel! He helped me book surfing classes, excursions, gave me wonderful restaurant suggestions and made the entire stay perfect!
