We stayed for four nights, and on the first night, we had one caipirinha and a portion of Coalho at the hotel.
About three hours later, both my partner and I started feeling unwell. I began vomiting and experiencing severe diarrhea, feeling sick throughout the night.
The following day, we reported the incident to reception. We were told they would contact the nutrition team, but we waited for over two hours without any response. Eventually, we had to return to reception to ask for an update. Only then did a staff member come to ask me a few standard questions. However, after that, there was no follow-up, no check-in from the general manager, and absolutely no concern shown for our wellbeing.
We missed planned activities due to this incident. To make matters worse, we were also overcharged for items we never ordered. Despite this, there was no compensation or goodwill gesture offered, which is incredibly disappointing for a four-star hotel.
Having worked in hospitality for most of my life, I am well aware of the proper procedures in situations like this. Their complete lack of care and accountability is alarming, and I am concerned about the safety of other guests if this continues.
I would strongly advise against eating here unless you want to risk food poisoning.
