Hotel Villa Casanova, Lucca (Lucca, Tuscany) 2 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Let’s play a game of word association. Here’s the prompt: “Tuscan.” If you’re like us, you’re thinking “villa.” Nobody does the country estate home quite like the Tuscans, and Albergo Villa Casanova, in the Lucca Valley, is true to the form in all the best ways. The 18th-century farmhouse (think gentleman-farmer) is set on 360 acres of picturesque woodland that beg to be explored — not least because from the top of the hill, you get panoramic views of the countryside, the quaint town of Torre del Lago and the Tyrrhenian Sea in the distance." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is completely inflexible once your booking is made. Despite giving them six months' notice, they refused to change or modify our dates. Due to a family bereavement, we were no longer able to afford the trip, but the hotel showed no understanding and did not accommodate our cancellation request. We were also unable to speak directly with a manager or supervisor.Be aware of this when you book. We booked through booking.com who were happy to waive any fees to us and the hotel but they still refused to help.

Due to a family bereavement, we were no longer able to afford the trip, but the hotel showed no understanding and did not accommodate our cancellation request. We were also unable to speak directly with a manager or supervisor. After multiple calls back and fourth getting nowhere we were able to cancel the room with a 30% charge of the total booking. Be aware. We placed our original booking through booking.com who were halt to fully refund us with no charge or commission fees to the hotel, but the hotel would not have any of it, Be aware!

We recently stayed at Hotel Villa Casanova for 3 nights while we looked at wedding venues in Tuscany, we booked a Deluxe Suite with Valley view. The hotel was beautiful - traditionally styled, with modern facilities (the elevator was definitely a bonus!) and immaculately kept. The views over the valley were stunning, the staff were really friendly and accommodating! The breakfast buffets were well catered with a large range of tasty continental choices and also some cooked eggs and omelette options. We only had time to eat one evening in the hotel restaurant, but was really tasty and we both commented on how both our desserts were some of the nicest desserts we've had! We'd definitely recommend and we'll definitely be back for another visit!

We had the most amazing stay! The hotel is stunning with huge rooms, lovely pool, great views and the most amazing friendly staff who really do go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable! The kitchen catered amazing for gluten free diet with the best breakfasts ever and different each day! We hired a car and explored the countryside, Lucca and Cinque Terre! Thank you to the wonderful staff who made our stay so relaxing! It was perfect to relax and get away!

This was our second visit to Hotel Villa Casanova. We had been there ten years before and loved it. Our hope was that it had not lost it's charm. Luckily it was even better. It is in a lovely green hilly area about a fifteen minute ride from Luca. The former villa has twelve suites each with views, some with balconies. Each has large bathrooms . The small elevator delivers people and luggage quickly to each of the three floors. The decor is lovely and comfortable. Beds sheets and towels are luxurious. In June when we were there, all meals were served by the pool which had a lovely view of the distant mountains and the beautiful gardens around the hotel. The service and food , breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent. All the Rooms professionally cleaned quietly while we ate or were off in Luca. The staff was very helpful as to directions to places in Luca and they served snacks and drinks by the pool. There is a tennis court and large beautiful gardens to walk in. Inside there are lots of interesting books all around to borrow. It is like being a guest at a private country villa. . We found the quiet relaxed atmosphere a perfect place to rest after the crowds of tourists in Luca. We cannot recommend this small hotel more highly.

The only way to describe this experience is spectacular. The resort is beautiful and clean and the service is beyond compare. |Wonderful breakfast buffet served on the pool terrace with your every need quickly attended to by friendly but unintrusive staff. As soon as you leave your room , staff immediately make up the room and replace towels. I have never seen such efficient cleaning service ! The rooms are huge, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom has a huge shower and soaker tub. Our room had a little terrace which looked over the Tuscan countryside. |The restaurant menu for lunch and dinner are limited but very tasty. We had a car and there are lots of little restaurants a short drive from the hotel. |The staff here are incredible and very patient while I tried my very limited Italian. |If I could give 10 stars I would .

AC although apparently functional it didn’t work. TVs (both) did not work - one’s sound was completely off and the other one, we assumed the WiFi was too slow for the internet TV that was using. WiFi overall a problem. We brought this issues up to the front desk the first morning and nobody did anything. We again brought it up the morning of the departure ( we only stayed 2 nights) and all they did was offering us biscuits. Patetic after paying over 800 dollars between the stay and room service. Restaurant staff were great and caring. Good for them 👏. While we understand that things might go wrong, we did not appreciate them not responding to the malfunction when we brought it up. On top of that we were told that we should have said something again in the afternoon. Like should I just set reminders for you to ofer the service I paid for?
