Decided to stay in Puerto Rico a couple days before getting on our cruise. This hotel is small but cute. Has great staff and a pool. Rooms are basic but nice with a comfortable bed. Close to restaurants, bars and a grocery store. Ashley at the front desk was a great resources of places to eat and what is nearby.

Close to the airport so it is noisy at times but we weren’t bothered by it at all. Extremely clean, comfortable, charming, and wonderful staff. We had a small balcony overlooking the pool which was great for morning coffee. We plan on staying here again, hopefully the same room.

We booked a non-refundable family suite for our arrival to PR. Our flight landed at 2:00am and right as our flight was taking off (10pm) they called and cancelled our reservation leaving us nowhere safe to go with our kids at that hour. We ended up just staying at airport. It was awful and such poor service. The person had texted me some places we could stay instead but no one answered at 2:30am. I wouldn’t recommend if you aren’t flexible and able to move hotels especially if you want a room for 5-6 ppl.

It is a hidden gem, we would come here again. Their service was great, the rooms were very clean and the parking was close by. Being that I am from Puerto Rico the hospitality made me feel back at home again, after so many years (Pre-pandemic era). This is very close to the airport, the beach is nearly a five-minute walk. You can hear the planes on the runway taking off. If you are sensitive to this kind of sound, you might want to look elsewhere. Besides that, the staff were great and friendly, and they also spoke English. They have a very strict non-smoking policy, I would advise you to go around and then come back. The rooms are very cozy, and they also have a smart television so you can see the latest news, movies etc.. I would come back with my family and stay here again. It was worth it, and the price was great as well. They also have cars for rent here (VIAS) at the hotel. Muchísimas gracias a Lourdes was awesome at our check-in, Y tambien a Danmar who was also great with taking care of our room. Thank you again, from our entry and departure, Hotel Villa Del Sol is a 5 🌟 in our opinion.

Google
Cute and very clean boutique hotel, daily room cleaning service, free fresh brew good coffee all day, beach towel, free parking, car rental on-site. Just 4 minutes walk to the beach and multiple eateries within walking distance. Really enjoyed the hotel and its convenience. Rental a car on-site from Vias only for the days we needed it, very convenient. I’d definitely stay there again and highly recommend to others.

Google
Should call Motel Del Sol , NOT HOTEL No ELEVATOR, too many steps go up second floor Room is very very small & bathroom is tiny. No tissues in the room. When asked for tissues front desk said they don’t have. Pool is nice & clean. Close to airport, beach, casino, restaurants & bars

Spotlessly clean, big bed, strong air conditioning. Perfect basic room if that’s what you need. We stayed one night before our cruise and slept great.

Google
We stayed for a week here and when we fIrst got there they stated that we needed to pay for a "resort fee" of $42 and on top of that they wanted an additional $100 deposit that allegedly would be refunded back to my account once we checked out. I paid upfront through Expedia when i booked the room with my flight and vehicle rental. We are very clean and neat people and these people refused to refund us that deposit for which we never should have been charged in the first place. I highly suggest that no one rents from this sham of a place and beinf Puerto Rican myself I truly feel insulted by them.

Yelp
Hotel was like a mini home away from home, not fancy but staff make you feel special. They let you know the best places to eat good Puerto Rican food and the best of island attractions, centrally located to stores, beach and casinos.

Yelp
Clogged toilet Cats sleeping on lobby sofa Cable out No elevator No soap dish Inconsistent hot water No iron/ironing board No phones No coffee pot Parking lot seemed unsafe Long line for check in Some (not all) staff rude

Yelp
I must say this place is a Gem .. it's has so much culture and the staff are so welcoming.. I'm happy me and my bf were about to stay here for our trip as our last air bnb was not it.. our rooms were always kept clean. Stafff were always helpful and the energy and the vibe of the space ate everything. This is definitely a gem and a cute space that is close to the beaches and restaurants.

Yelp
I chose this hotel based on the ideal location next to the beach and low price, Unfortunately my stay here was very uncomfortable. They have a strict policy on towels for some reason despite being located next to the beach and also having a pool. I had to put up a huge fight to get them to restock and clean our room. And in one instance while we were away from the hotel the employees let themselves into our room, even though we had posted a do not disturb sign, and took the remaining 2 towels we had left. And when I called to ask them why they had taken our towels they said it was apart of the "cleaning fee". Mind you they had done nothing to clean or restock the room. No toilet paper, no fresh sheets or soap. And when we had questions as to why we were being charged we were met with very rude and disrespectful attitudes. I had gone down to the lobby several times throughout the 4 day stay to buy some water from the snack bar. On several occasions I was met with an "I'm busy" or "hold on" while they sat and ate food or talked on their personal cell phones. The customer service was not there. As for the room, the carpets were stained and coming up from the floor. The white bedsheets were also stained. The room was small and the WiFi was not working. All in all I will not be returning. And I do not recommend

Yelp
I recently stay at this property that are local owners in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. I was told by the staff that due to hurricane María back in 2017 the hotel suffer damages fast forward to 2021 and the property is looking a thing of cuteness and beauty. The staff of the hotel are so friendly, professional. If you want to feel right at home in boutique/ small hotel with all things you need to be in a great area that is Isla Verde stay here at Hotel Villa Del Sol. A special Gracias Maria (front desk), Sonia ( housekeeping). FYI for the location of the hotel: Room: clean and spacious ,tv with cable, air conditioning, fridge, bathroom Beautiful pool for guest Parking for guest Walking distance from the beach and Isla Verde Avenue Friendly and helpful staff Vias Car rental staff available for you to rent a vehicle Wifi

Yelp
Nice bright quaint hotel - small walk from the beach. This place was a breath of fresh air compared to the residence next door and we enjoyed our stay. You can rent a car right from the front desk. The staff were professional and helpful - will definitely keep this place in mind for our return trip

Yelp
Once again I stayed in this Hotel with my siblings this weekend and everyone was impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms at arrival and the great staff. Looking forward to returning in December.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The cleaning staff stole my Sister's iPad from our room. The manager said that the cameras weren't working and that we were confused. After many hours of a frustrated conversation, the cops had to arrive. Management is poor, cleaning staff are thieves, and my recommendation, is to stay elsewhere. Heed my warning!

Yelp
I am pretty even and fare regarding businesses and giving reviews. Good and bad or those that are a little of both. My family and I have had a wonderful time while here in Puerto Rico. The people we have met have been very warm and so friendly and helpful. So I am sad to not give a good rating here. If I could actually rate this hotels staff as a zero, I would. Their service is down right deplorable. Both ladies were rude. After a wonderful cruise this past week, I asked our cruise person from Expedia to book me a hotel that was near the airport. Granted, this is not a top line motel but it looked cute and it seemed clean. We did arrive very early so I knew we would not be able to check in early. 10:00 am we arrived for check in. I asked if there was an elevator because we had lots of bags and they were extremely heavy. She said no elevator. I asked if we could have a room on the first floor so we would not have to carry four heavy bags upstairs. She said she would see what came available. She asked for my cell number to call when the room was ready since check out was t until 12:00. My sister checked in right after I did. We sat around for an hour and caught a cab to Old San Juan. Around 3:00 my sister received a call that her room was ready. Upon arrival I said I had not received a call that my room was ready. Her response was "I called you twice sweetie and it went to voicemail". (Wait, she called me sweetie. I'm about 30 years older than she is). I looked at my phone and said I haven't received any calls. But maybe my phone isn't working. (It was working just fine). She actually rolled her eyes at me . We were given a key to the 2nd floor room. I asked about an available room on the first floor. She said there weren't any available. When she checked my sister in, she checked her into the first floor room and told me that they only had a few available rooms that were blocked because they were under construction and the rooms had no water. I told her that this makes no sense at all because I was the one who requested the room on the first floor. Her response was that she couldn't rent me a room with no water. My husband asked if someone could help with bags. She just looked at him and said absolutely nothing. Are these women a true representation of Puerto Rico????? I hope not. I will definitely not stay here again and I plan on talking with my agent at Expedia so they are all aware of my very unpleasant experience. And I hope they remove this hotel from their list

Yelp
Love the hotel, my room with a balcony felt very cozy, affordable rate, very nice personnel that took care of us (Maribel) the only negative part was that there was no hot water but other than that, everything great.

Yelp
Nice place to stay at. Staff is great, courteous and the beds are comfortable. Highly recommend if you are on a budget. Five minutes from the beach.

Yelp
This hotel is very no frills. It was pretty clean, the staff was pretty attentive however you get what you pay for. We had to bring them our dirty towels everyday, plunge our own toilet when it got stopped up, the door was left unlock after the cleaning staff finished cleaning for the day however the A/C in the rooms are GREAT! The beach is within walking distance and there are a lot of great local restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner also within walking distance.

Yelp
Good customer service not the most updated rooms. Rooms are very small and outdated. But he location is excellent just make sure you bring your own conditioner :)

Vee R.

Yelp
There is no one to help you with your luggage if you are on the second floor and there is no elevator. I was travelling with a baby and stroller. The rugs in the room are filthy and need to a good steam shampoo. There are cracked tile in the bathroom. Also there was no hot water.

Yelp
I wish I could give more stars because I loved the staff - they were warm and helpful. The room was basic, but it was clean, and had comfortable beds. It also had a fridge, but no phone??? The location was convenient because it was less than a mile from the airport, and also a block from Isla Verde Beach. The major turn off, however, was that every time a plane would land or take off, It felt like it was landing directly in our room. YES, IT WAS THAT ANNOYINGLY LOUD. I guess the only remedy would be to get some type of better windows????

Yelp
Great little place to stay in PR. Rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. The staff was wonderful at recommending out of the way places to explore that were not to touristy. I will definitely think about staying here again when in PR.

Kellie F.

Yelp
Let me preface this review by stating that I have never been to Puerto rico before. That being said, this hotel is very affordable, 2 blocks from the beach and within walking distance of many nice restaurants in Isla Verde. It's not super fancy, but a warm, welcoming place to stay. Most of the staff speaks English as well as Spanish. They are very helpful providing recommendations and directions. I recommend this cute hotel!!

Lissette Q.

Yelp
This hotel is nice. Not fancy but its a convenient location near the airport. I have nothing negative to say. Hotel room was nice, room service always kept it clean, pool was nice, and the staff was friendly. You can request a hairdryer from the front desk. Air conditioning was great. Check in and check out were quick. 24 hour personnel on staff. I had an early flight and checked out at 12:30 am with no problem. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Worse experience of my life in any hotel... Very mediocre facilities, person that checked me in, was awful, very sour, bad mood... Gave me a room for disabled people, that should be shut down forever....very lumpy mattresses...shower with no curtain, since is for easy wheelchair access....stayed here for one night...then got moved to another room a bit better..but nothing to write home about..... My stay was supposed to be 5 nights, but only stayed 2...over priced, not good...bar-restaurant in hotel never opened either...has been closed for a long time... the only thing good about the hotel is the location, that's why I gave it two stars....

Yelp
As my entire family and I were traveling from Pittsburgh, for my son's wedding, we decided to stay at this hotel my daughter in law chose. She has and Ipad Plus with all of the wedding information, as we were leaving upon taking all of our luggage to the car, we noticed the iPad was missing. We asked the receptionist and the cleaning lady where was the IPad, but no one knew where it went. After pleading with staff for hours, we had no choice but to call police. We waited for about 20 minutes until the police arrived. After repeating the story to the police, they took the receptionist and cleaning lady to speak in private. They also checked the rooms and cleaning cart, but did not find it. My daughter-in-love, as I call her, was so upset she offered the receptionist $100 dollars to get it back and press no charges. The police wrote the report and said detectives would do the rest since the Ipad plus was expensive, and it would be taken seriously. As they were leaving my daughter noticed the receptionist speaking to the cleaning lady privately. As I'm standing in the front room the receptionist called me to the desk and told me to go to the car right now and I'll find the tablet. I found that odd so I got my best friend, Danielle, and told her let's hurry to the car, I was told the tablet would be there. Sure enough there it was in the floor by the front seat, mind you, I myself took that car apart as well as my husband. The bride to be searched that car and was in shock as to how it was put back. We will never know, but someone in the staff returned it. This was very traumatic for the whole family and took away 4 hours of our trip, but thank god that it's over and we will still make it the best wedding and family event ever. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

Yelp
My two friends and I stayed here in March 2015. We were celebrating a birthday so we weren't looking for any fancy expensive hotel. It was time to party. We decided on our hotel by looking at reviews, so I wanted to give this place a good one! Hotel Villa del Sol was a great choice. It's cheap, clean big rooms, a pool, a bar, and not a far walk from the beach! The bartender Josue is awesome. We met some new friends at the bar and are still Facebook friends now :) I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room. We had a pool view and a balcony. I do wish the pool bar stayed open longer, or was open every day. The diner around the corner is also cheap and delicious. Good times!

Yelp
We ended up here as we were meeting local friends who own a timeshare. I really wish we had researched more and booked something else. We are a family of four (two school-aged boys). The kids enjoyed it, which made the hotel bearable. Yes, it is inexpensive, but that is not why I chose it. I would have happily spent much more money for a better experience. The buffet, bar, cleaning, and pool staff were all lovely, and I have NO complaints about them. The buffet food was so bad. I ate salad and fruit for every meal, every day. The other dishes looked terrible and did not address diets well (vegetarian choices were bleak). The pools needed some TLC and there is no jacuzzi, even though they tell you there is one. Keep your eye on your pool towels, they will charge you $35 dollars/per towel that you lose. I had our 4 towels on our chair and somehow always had one missing by the time I got out of the pool to dry off. The beach is close and beautiful, but full of sketchy vendors. I turned my back and walked away from my table for maybe 15 seconds and a vendor stole the 3 water bottles I had sitting there. I had to chase him down and ask for them back. It was so weird. On a positive note, the beach here was beautiful and we enjoyed the Congo Trail Zip lines. I would absolutely never stay here again, but did enjoy the beauty of the country and I appreciated how hard the staff worked.

Prophetico P.

Yelp
Excellent place, the staff was amazing all around the clock and they even helped me with the car rental that another company denied. If you are looking for the best spot this is it!!!

Yelp
this is a beautiful little villa inspired hotel about a block from the beach in isla verde. it's hella cheap ($110/night for a double during busy season) and the rooms are clean and a good size. they have cable tv, a fridge, and ac. there is a terrace on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. that's something important as the beach in isla verde has sand fleas. you don't want to lay out there unless you've sprayed yourself with bug spray. the staff is helpful and super nice. oh and the bartender at the pool makes a strong ass mojito. and really, that's all that matters when you're looking for a place to stay.

Yelp
This is a great place to be your home away from home. If you're looking for a luxury and glamour, you may not find it here. However this is a great place to lay your head, catch some sun by the pool, and be treated with courtesy and respect. The rooms are equipped with basic cable television, air conditioner, an un stocked refrigerator and a balcony on the second floor. The location is great as it is walking distance from all other major resorts and of course the beach! The only downside I had during my stay at this hotel, were the conditions of the towels. Some had holes on them, and did not look appealing. To resolve this, just pack your own. The hotel also offers car-rentals at a decent price and provide free airport drop off. However if you're looking for a hotel that offers excursions or transportation to certain spots, this hotel unfortunately is not the place. The food is also basic but delicious. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and felt comfortable.

Rachel L.

Yelp
This place wasn't the fanciest hotel but it's a good spot to go in and out to sleep, so if you're going to Puerto Rico to do a bunch of activities then this would be a good hotel for you, my room was nice, it was the more modern room and the bathroom was big too so I liked that. The pool was nice as well but the only thing is that the bar is closed and there isn't a restaurant in there. The staff were nice as well. They have a little balcony area where you can relax so that was really nice. Overall I enjoyed my experience here especially since it was right in the middle of all the restaurants and Walgreens was right next door as well so it was super convenient.

Yelp
This was a decent experience. The hotel was cute the staff was friendly and very helpful. They offered ideas and fun things to do on our trip. Our ac blew cold air we had clean towels. I had no complaints.
google avatar

Yelp
Worst hotel ever. This is where the term "roach motel" came from. Staff is very friendly and respectful. Hotel is in need of repairs. AC in my suite kept going off. Towels had holes and so did the bed sheets. Locks on doors are very old and difficult. Parking is first come first serve basis even when you rent a car from them. They should assign parking for renters. I had to park at a pay parking at the back of the hotel. Nobody to help with your luggage. Toilet got clogged and they gave us a plunger to unclog it ourselves. The rugs are old and musty. Spend a little more and stay at a better hotel.

Yelp
I stayed here with 2 of my friends in March 2015. We were there to party and go to the beach, and this place fit our budget and was fun. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in our room, it was spacious and had a pool-view balcony. The bartender Josue was awesome. We also met other guests at the bar who we are still Facebook friends with today. I wish the bar had longer hours, and was open every day. The diner at the corner is cheap and delicious. The walk to the beach isn't bad at all. But you have to pay for chairs. It was a great, inexpensive place to stay! Also, one woman who works there named Maribel is the sweetest

Yelp
Wow. Not what we were expecting for $121 per night! The hotel is indeed 3 blocks from the beach, but a small, seaweed clogged beach, with murky water. The hotel advertises free parking, however what they don't disclose is there is a very limited number of spaces (about 10) and if you come in late at night and the spaces are full, you have to go to a 24 hour pay parking lot located behind the hotel, which charges $10. This hotel rents cars as well, which is a fine service for those who need it. We found it very frustrating that they doubled parked their rental cars behind the guests cars at all hours of the day and night. Every time we wanted to leave, we had to flag down an employee to move their vehicles. Once it took 20 mins to get out of the lot, almost causing us to miss an excursion reservation!! Another big issue was water temperature and pressure for the showers. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold, nothing inbetween.... SO UNPLEASANT!! The hotel bar/restaurant seemed to keep irregular hours. Every time I wanted a cocktail, they were closed. But luckly, there were plenty of other drinking establishments near by. While most of the staff were friendly, there is a very rude woman attending the desk at night. She seemed inconvenienced by any type of request. She should definitely not be working in the hospitality industry. On a fair note, our room was modest, clean, had ice cold AC and comfortable beds. We were 50 mins from the Ferry in Fajardo, 15 from Old San Juan, 1 hour 15 from zip lines, so overall a convenient location. Keep in mind, hotel is about 5-7 mins from the airport, so the flight noise is a consistent 24 hours a day. Oh, it's also important to know (for those of us who have to work on vaca), the wifi only works on the 1st floor.
google avatar

Alejandra M.

Yelp
The good: Location. Its is 3 blocks away from two nice beaches, near a Walgreen's and several cafés, restaurants and bars. The bad: this hotel claims to have a restaurant and bar, yet they fail to disclose on their page that said restaurant and bar only opens Saturday and Sundays. No elevator, you have to carry your bags up the stair (nobody offered to take them up for us either). The AC to our room did not work, I was sweating the entire time I was in the room. The hotel site also claims to have WIFI but they only reaches the lobby, not even the restaurant, bar or pool area so you have to sit by the front desk to use it. The ugly: SERVICE. I had never in my life been to a place where I have been straight up ignored and told "I'm busy". We needed a towels, I approached front desk and before I could say a word the desk person says "I'm busy". Next time I needed something they just ignored me. They also run a car rental out of the hotel and they care way more about it than their hotel guests.

Yelp
this place is terrible !! looks are deceiving, i will not advise anyone to leave anything unattended because the employees will steal it ... i came with a group of family n friends for a wedding and we all are disappointed how they run there business !! do not stay here ........
