Hotel Villa Franca Positano

The best last stop of our 16 day Italy trip. The location is wonderful with 360 degree views of Positano from the rooftop pool deck. We spent three days at the pool soaking up the sun, atmosphere and drinks/food. It is a very modern style hotel with great vibe. The breakfasts (we had one in the restaurant and two on our balcony) were the best! The service is off the charts great. Anything we called for was delivered in mere seconds, it was mysterious how quickly they came! The room was larger than we anticipated and very comfortable! Definitely a highlight!

Just got back from my stay a HVF Villa Franca in Positano. The staff was absolutely wonderful and did everything to please us. Hotel was modern and beautiful. On the downside, getting around the hotel was difficult because of the never ending stairs. Snacks were quite expensive on the roof top and rooms although were very clean and pretty were small. The shuttle at the hotel was actually a. golf cart which made looking and staying pretty quite impossible.

Wow! My wife and I are a bit of "fly by the seat of your pants" and booked HVF just two days before we arrived. I booked the cheapest room at the hotel and YES, the room is small, but it was more than we needed. I took a Zoom call from our small balcony and made everyone back in the states extremely jealous. I want to point out how amazing the staff was. They could not have been any friendlier and any more professional. The food was OUTSTANDING, the pool was incredible and the views are unimaginable but the staff was by far the highlight of our stay. We had no reservations for anything... we walked in with just our bags in hand and they took care of the rest. They booked our excursions, all of our restaurants and even our transfer to our Airbnb in Atrani. I know this seems like one of those reviews that sounds like maybe I'm being paid to write but I felt the need to share my heartfelt feelings about this hotel. We could only be so lucky to get a chance to stay with them again! It was killer.

Let’s just say you should consider yourself lucky to stay here.the views are perfect, hotel is elegant, the breakfast was A+++ and dinner dishes simply amazing. You won’t find a better view of Positano or a more eclectic, modern art collection in a hotel throughout the region. |In rare occasions, hotels should receive a sixth star.. and this is one of them.

All around 5 circles... just a fantastic experience! The service level was truly extraordinary - every time I entered the hotel or exited, the staff at the front desk warmly greeted me by name, never failing to ask about my plans, how I enjoyed dinner, if I was happy with everything in the hotel, etc. During my stay, after a day full of walking up and down the stairs of Positano several times, I was hankering for some peanut M&M's. I mentioned it at the front desk and they suggested a small store down the street. Sadly, no M&M's were there. When I came back to the hotel they asked if I had found them and I told them that I did not, but it wasn't a big deal. I shrugged it off. But while I was out for dinner that night, they drove into town and searched for Peanut M&M's for me and put them in my room with a card that said "all your dreams should come true when you stay with us". Service like this is rare and beautiful, and these people are truly amazing. ||Of course there's also the preposterously sumptuous breakfast that is included with the stay. There's the gorgeous views from the rooftop pool and the lounge areas. There's the Michelin restaurant (it was outstanding!). But honestly, all of these pale in comparison to the service level that was offered.||One small issue that I'll mention - I stayed on floor -2 (two floors below the lobby). My bathroom occasionally smelled a little bit (not a lot) like a sewage system. Not during the day - only at night. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was noticeable. I didn't get too upset about it because I had noticed this in other hotels in Italy - perhaps it's something about their plumbing systems. Or maybe it's because I was on the lowest floor. Who knows? It wasn't a big deal, I made no complaint, and it didn't interfere with my stay in any meaningful way.||All in all, if you want to stay at a hotel that works tirelessly to make you feel like a celebrity and takes great care to connect you with the reservations and resources you most want, this is the place. It gets my highest recommendation.

Beautiful hotel! Views are the best in Positano! Service has been absolutely amazing. The concierge staff has been extremely accommodating and helpful. I cannot compliment them enough, terrific help on restaurants, beach clubs, whatever you need!

I stayed here with my husband, business partners and their spouses and it definitely impressed all of us! The view is to die for! The pool is on the roof with a bar and food while you lounge in the most comfortable chaise lounge chairs. Room view was also amazing and the room was fabulous with a very comfortable bed. The shuttle down to the town was very convenient and I can’t say enough about the service! They pamper you from the time you walk through the door until the time you leave! Highly recommend. Bite the bullet, it’s worth the money!

We’ve recently Stayed At Hotel Villa Franca, From the Moment we arrived the transportation from the airport was very exceptional, the check in was Really Smooth, at first They showed us around the Hotel and the amenities, and the most beautiful views from all positano, the rooms were spacious, spotless clean, and very luxury. the Friendly Staff went above and beyond to ensure us an unforgettable stay, they truly care for their Guest, I highly recommend this Place, and can’t wait to Be Back, Over all it was a Great experience.

Love this place. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Couldn't be nicer. The views are amazing; the room a good size, very comfortable and very quiet. Snacks and drinks from the mini bar are included, which is pretty much unheard of these days. The main restaurant has a Michelin star chef. He came to our table to plate the spaghetti which was the best I've had in my life. All the food there is amazing. Breakfast is included and very tasty. The rooftop pool is hit or miss. One day we were the only people there. The next day it was full. Lovely views and very friendly staff there as well.

WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED IN. Absolute nightmare from start to finish. The rooms are MINUSCULE. So small that it is impossible to open your suitcase in the room. It is overpriced. Do not expect the service or accommodations to match the $1000+ per night charge that they expect. You will be disappointed. Amenities are sub par and overpriced and the rooms have broken appliances. The staff is incredibly rude and apathetic. They are truly out to squeeze their guests for everything under the sun. It is a scam. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Looking for an unforgettable honeymoon? Look no further. Hotel Villa Franca is it. Breath taking views from pool AND rooms. Service is impeccable. The white decoration provides a sophisticated ambiance. It sits on the top of a mountain as you can see in one of my pictures. My room had a large balcony where we could enjoy the view of the hills and sea. The place is sparkly clean, and the service impeccable. Everything about this place exudes luxury. including the pool. You have to walk or get a shuttle to go to the village and the beach.

This is a nice smaller boutique hotel. Very clean well maintained. This sits on the top of the hill in local city. It has amazing views, If you're in fairly good shape I recommend taking the stairs down to the beach and having lunch or dinner. There are plenty of amazing restaurants in Art Galleries within walking distance. But you will need to take a taxi back up because it is a lot of stairs.

This hotel has views that will take your breath away. The food is insane. It was the kind that you see people eating in the movies, not real life. Breakfast was an absolute treat. PIZZA over looking the Amalfi Coast for breakfast? Are you kidding me?? No, it wasn't just a dream. The hotel smells like you've entered a spicy Garden of Eden. Everyone makes you feel as if you are the some kind of vip. If you end up here, ensure you book the Path of the Gods hike with Fulvio. I cannot think of a more pleasant hotel to spend a significant Anniversary.

Hotel Villa Franca is so unique everything is pure white.. It sits on the top of the mountain the views from here is breathtaking We r staying in the villa with a huge deck Everything about our villa is amazing View from our deck is undescribable anywhere you look it's a picture perfect but unfortunately pictures can't describe the beauty your eyes can see in reality... Service is great here... Great restaurant with the killing of you Today is our 3rd day and we r still loving our hotel We went to couple other ones that are considered upscale too but I still like ours more ;) A lot of walking mileage u have to do in this area.. This hotel was one of the best we've ever stayed at. Not only was it miraculously clean the service there was amazing. My husband and I were unfamiliar with the area and relied solely on the hotels recommendations and they were all incredible. From restaurants to tours and excursions they never steered us wrong. The amenities that come along with this are also amazing. We spent a good amount of time at the roof deck pool and bar. It had 360 views of positano that we enjoyed very much almost everyday. Overall, I would recommend to anyone this property.

This enchanting gem, tucked away at the top of the hill in Positano, is paradise. The rooms are spotless and elegant, with a private balcony complete with a sea-view. The maid service always did a phenomenal job tidying our room and refilling all the toiletries and towels. The entire staff is formal, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. The wine sommelier is an expert, the restaurant manager is extraordinary, and the bartender is brilliant. The men and women at concierge will book you fabulous tours at a moment's notice, and help arrange ANY activity you can possibly imagine. The shuttle to and from the center of town makes your explorations just a little bit easier as well. The breakfast buffet was utterly fabulous--every morning the gentleman that runs it greeted us and delivered as much coffee/tea/espresso/etc. drinks as we needed to refuel. The limitless options offered every morning were so enticing, we always enjoyed ourselves. From the little brioche buns and croissants, to the freshest and sweetest fruit I've ever enjoyed, or the breakfast pizza available every day, and staples like eggs, bacon and yogurt, it was a wonderful way to start the day. Grabbing a table near the veranda and enjoying the view was simply the cherry on top. Dinner at the restaurant was an affair not to be missed. It was our first meal in Positano and it set the tone for everything. The amuse bouche was always excellent, our foie gras starter was insanely delicious, both entrees were of course perfect, and the lavish desserts were beyond satisfying. Finally, the roof-top pool, lounges and bar were a wonderful way to unwind after a day of exploring! I cannot begin recommend and praise this little bastion of civility and luxury enough.

Loved this hotel! We came at the end of the travel season, end of October, and we enjoyed the cool and sunny weather. The hotel staff was absolutely top notch which is why this place is rated 5. The pool area was closed because of the ending season however were able to sit and enjoy the sun. The main floor had large sitting chairs which we thoroughly enjoyed both before and after dinner was so relaxing. And our dinner at Le Galli was legendary. My husband went with their classic pastas with meatballs and about died!!! Meatballs were deliciously juicy and had so much flavor. A few cons might be the wifi was spotty.... Our shower head was just so-so... And the shuttles to and from town was too and far between. Overall the hotel was lovely, rooms were adorable and comfy, the Coastal views were amazing, and the staff...5.

Even though we were staying in our own place in Positano, we decided to rent the largest suite they had here. GORGEOUS views, spotless room, incredible staff at the hotel and just an overall dream. If you get a chance to stay here then please do. It is situated at the top of Positano and could not ask for a better position. Memories for ages.

Fabulous hotel - lovely property - extremely helpful staff. We just loved Hotel Villa Franca. It was a last minute booking as we chose to depart a hotel in Sorrento and spend a couple days along the Amalfi Coast. The room was perfect, on the second floor, one floor beneath the lobby. My only issue with the room was the time in which it took for the A/C to kick on, and for safety reasons Italian hotels no longer appear to have irons or boards. Paid €28 to have a pant and two shirts pressed. Otherwise there was a beautiful orchid on the table and a welcome letter from both the manager and chef. The breakfast (included) was very nice and served in a large space behind the lobby with gorgeous views of the Positano cliff side. There is a very nice pool with bar, dining and attendants located on the roof. There are stairs that lead down the other side of the one way road with some great dining options just 1000 steps away! Getting to and parking is challenge as it is throughout Positano. The hotel is on one of the first curves on the one way road that stretches through the town (off the main two way road). Valet parking costs about €30 which is certainly worth it. Keep in mind that circling the one way road through Positano and traffic on the main road could be fast or could take an hour. Conclusion - would absolutely return if we were to stay in the town of Positano and the price was right.

All round great experience. Rooftop Restaurant was absolutely incredible food and service. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting beautiful decor, ambiance, service, and food.

I was so excited to stay at this hotel. But it was very disappointing. I'll start with the good- the view is awesome. The roof top is wonderful. The gentlemen who runs the breakfast is so welcoming and friendly. For the rest, it was a fine hotel, but nothing extraordinary. The biggest disappointment, and what has probably clouded our whole experience was the room we were in. Our room was small and stuffy and it was underneath the lobby and across from the housekeeping supply closet. Not very nice. The bathroom tiny with barely enough room to open the door. There was almost no view from the terrace, which was overlooking other guests and had absolutely no privacy. I suppose technically we had an ocean view, but it was hardly worth the cost. You had to be up at 7am. No choice, no resting in on vacation. The housekeeping staff starts work at 7am and that's when the squeaky doors, opening and closing doors, up and down stairs and loud noises begin. It's so far away from all the fun things in Positano. It's not convenient at all. The staff was fine. Not too helpful, they kept wanting to arrange excursions or events with the hotel - not around Positano. If we wanted to do anything off property we were on our own. We had dinner at the restaurant- good but not amazing food. Great service, though. The roof top is awesome, but there were no late hours for a cocktail (we were there in October, so that may be why). It's a fine hotel. But not 5 star and not worth the extreme cost. Come here for dinner, or to hang by the pool one afternoon, but stay down in Positano.

Stunning venue, what was most exceptional was the service. All staff go out of their way to make sure you experience is perfect. Great breakfast. Very clean, beautiful places on a high corner of Positano. Bright rooms that allow for a lot of light. The only downside was that the pool was currently out of service for my entire stay and this was not mentioned before arrival. They did instead offer to be pay for beach chair, however it was not the same. Highly recommend this venue!

If you are looking for a true 5-star, classy experience, this is NOT the place for you. First of all, we booked through AMEX, which entitles us to an early check in at 12pm. We had contacted the hotel the day prior about our bags for the porter from the ferry and they mentioned nothing about transportation. None of the cabs from the square go there because it is the opposite way. We walked all the way up the mountain and when we got there at 3pm they told us our room wasn't even ready yet, but to go to the pool for lunch. The pool was PACKED and there weren't any chairs available, so we sat down to eat. The food was good but exorbitantly overpriced. During lunch, chairs opened up so I went to put towels on them. This woman that worked there originally told me they were open, but then later came over and told me they were reserved. For some "instagram influencer" who arrived AFTER us. They don't help you set up chairs or towels, they just watch you. When chairs finally opened up, they told us our room was ready. Our room turned out to be in some other building up the mountain from their main hotel. They call it their "villa suite" or something. They don't talk about any of that during booking. There's also no privacy. The balconies are on top of each other and very little separation between you and the next room. Every post they post on Instagram is fake. The hotel is actually really beautiful, but it is PACKED with people at all times. They just video their areas when no one is around. There are "instagram influencers" doing literal photo shoots with professional cameras all over their hotel disturbing everyone around them, but they say nothing. They actually promote it and love it because it's good marketing. We couldn't even eat breakfast in peace. We were in Italy for 10 days and stayed all over in multiple hotels. This was by far the most disappointing experience.

Wow. Just wow. There are not enough nice words to say about Hotel Villa Franca. Upon arrival I simply could not believe my eyes or that I was lucky enough to have found this place. It's truly one of the most spectacular hotels in the world - amongst the ranks of Four Seasons calibur hotels one might go so far as to say. This hotel is by far the best hotel in Positano. It's located away from the crowds and bustle of the beach but close enough to walk. I personally went inside some of the more expensive / "nicer" hotels by the beach and couldn't believe the disparity. Villa Franca is truly a site to see. The hotel is themed in blues and white ceramics that match the 360 degree views of the ocean and hillside. Upon entry you are welcomed by the warm staff - also the most delicious cookie and lemon water you've ever tasted - who take it upon themselves to give you a tour of the facilities. The rooms are clean and beautiful. The views in the hotel are insane. There are so many beautiful spots to choose from to have a glass of wine and take in the spectacular view of positano. I didn't have the chance to eat at the acclaimed restaurant on the premises, but if the breakfast spread is any indication I'm sure it would be incredible. Breakfast is beyond delicious - great coffee and a huge spread of chef prepared eggs, pastries, breads, yogurt, cereal, prosciutto, cheese, anything you can imagine - with a view to die for. No better way to start your day. The staff helps you with EVERYTHING you could ever possibly need. They were more than happy to field our millions upon millions of questions with a smile on their faces - shoutout Luigi! They made everything so easy for us, and did so many kind things along the way - looking @ you departure biscotti. They also were happy to book anything we needed and call to confirm all of our reservations/tours. The staff is extremely knowledgable about anything you could possibly want to do in the Amalfi Coast. The piece de resistance here is the rooftop pool. For a late afternoon swim/ read with one of the most beautiful views in the world, it's truly unbeatable. I will forever remember the rooftop of villa franco. Make it a point to end your afternoons with a nap on the roof overlooking the sunset with cold water and towels provided. Do not stay anywhere else. Stay at villa franco. Spoiler Alert: they even have a signature scent they gift you with when you leave. Villa Franca? More like Heaven on Earth. I will always remember you Villa Franca.

We had a suite with breathtaking views of Positano. This hotel sits on the top of the coast and is worth the trek up the hill (there are free shuttles from this hotel as well as a bus). We chose to walk every time - we loved the adventure. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was excellent - again with gorgeous views. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because we were upgraded to the largest suite upon arrival. Shortly after unpacking, the hotel staff asked us to move to another suite that was smaller. They claimed that someone had "reserved" the suite we were at. They didn't seem to care that we were on our honeymoon and also did not approach us kindly but rather, forced us to move (which I still think we did not have to do). We did because we were determined not to let this hiccup ruin our honeymoon and it didn't. We would have appreciated kinder staff members handling this situation and something to THANK US for moving into another room due to the hotel's error.

Visited Positano in the Spring 2015, my wife booked this hotel because every room has an awesome of the town below. It's a bit pricey but well worth it!!!

I'll give it an extra star for the view. Hotel is at the top of the hill, which allows for breathtaking views that will never get old no matter how long you stay there. Because it is at the top of the hill, be sure to take the shuttle, or you'll be walking 673 steps from the beach up to the hotel. (yes, we counted). Service, I found, was not great. While the breakfast buffet was great, and the people working in the restaurant were very nice and helpful, those working at the hotel were sub-par. They did not seem happy to answer any questions or give us recommendations for dinner (I asked the concierge for a recommendation on where to go for a great dinner with good wine, and was given the response "walk down the hill" when I asked for a specific name of a restaurant to look out for while strolling, the concierge said "I don't really know"). Perhaps there was a language barrier, but for such a high priced hotel, I would expect at least more direction than "down the hill". In addition to the concierge problems, out of the 6 times I visited the open bar (the roof one is open during the day, while the one near the restaurant is open at night), there was only someone working the bar twice. While the drinks were very good, I really did not feel that I should be tracking down staff in a high priced hotel just for a drink. The view and balconies are amazing! But the service was definitely sub-par.

We recently (July '18) spent a week at Villa Franca in Positano and traveled the Amalfi Coast from there taking day trips. I have stayed at the best 5 star hotels in the world in Asia as well as Europe. We were thrilled with our first experience at Villa Franca!! They deserve to be part of Small Luxury Hotels of the world and set the bar for excellence!! The hotel property is beautiful, timeless, modern, and the views second to none. Service is impeccable-every single member of their staff knew us by name, were extremely attentive and anxious to please us. The hotel restaurants were terrific. Housekeeping was excellent...the hotel is immaculate clean. Clearly, the owners set the tone for their high standard of service they project for their brand Villa Franca. They are visible, attentive to their guests and ensure their team is top notch. We look forward to visiting Villa Franca again in the near future and highly recommend this property to discerning travelers of good taste.

We found this place somewhat last minute after cancelling a reservation in Amalfi. So glad we did! The hotel has recently been renovated and every detail was taken into account. The room was very well appointed and even has USB ports on each side of the bed. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful- Alessia at the front desk was amazing! The breakfast was also very delicious! My only complaint would be that the bathroom is a bit tight because they fit a bidet in their. If we come back to Positano we will definitely be staying here again!

Very nice and expensive hotel in Postiano. The staff was excellent. We always looked forward to the complimentary breakfast, which was very good. However, make sure you stay at the main hotel (there is a separate building - where we stayed at it). We mistakenly booked the upgraded room in the detached building and it was both overpriced and a little awkward. Beautiful room but it didn't have a direct view of the ocean and at € 1,300 a night it better have an ocean view. Highly recommend this hotel for the service and rooftop pool with incredible views but skip the fancy rooms :).

The hotel staff goes beyond to make you feel special and help you with anything you may need. Location at top of hill and the fabulous pool with views are amazingly The restaurants Il Galli was superb. We did chef's choice tasting menu. Bartender Andre rocked! I gave 4 stars rather than 5 because the room bathroom was dated, with what looks like black mold in tiles of tub.

The location and view can't be beat. It is a stunning sight to walk out on our private balcony every morning and look out. Our deluxe room was clean and the bed was super comfortable but we had numerous issues with our bathroom. The tub leaked and so did the toilet. The sliding doors were off it's track but we didn't care. We stayed for 9 days and dealt with a few water issues because we enjoyed it there so much. The breakfast buffet was first rate and the host was the best! He was always so friendly and he remembered us and what we liked to drink. He was our favorite staff member and had worked there for many years. He also was our host for dinner. The food was wonderful and their spaghetti and meatballs were the best I ever had. We loved the pool facilities and the complimentary shuttle, although we loved the walk up and down the hill. He also enjoyed massages at their spa. It was a wonderful experience and we would go back there again!
