Old world Capri charm and power . If you don’t understand it. Please stay in Positano and off my island. Highest altitude Hotel on Capri. Need I say more?||The previous derogatory reviews display the lack of character and understanding of the Island.

Review of Hotel Kruup Poor communication Dirty No real breakfast just bread and juice or coffee The dish rags are filthy and I feel sick about it mentally, hopefully I don’t pick up some terrible bacteria. Very low security, it would be very easy for anyone to rob your room as they insist on guests leave their room keys with the front desk; of which they just leave on their front desk unattended all day. I have already discovered some missing items totalling over $1000 USD. Very poor communication, my poor friend had to carry very heavy luggage up the steep stairs and hills of Capri by herself because the hotel failed to inform us that we needed to book a luggage carrier service the day before and no later than 8pm, otherwise get ready for a brutal workout on your calves. Very unimpressive hotel. With just a little more care to detail it could be a nice little B&b. For example, investing in a dishwasher instead of using bacteria 🦠 smothered dish clothes to wash our glasses. Plus the reception tries to be nice, to a point. They have no problem expressing their irritation with you. I stayed here for several days and only got 2 nights of sleep. It’s not a very comfortable bed and the AC is either off or blasting. Overall 2/10 rating 1 star hotel, 2 stars when they replace the mold encrusted curtains and buy a dishwasher instead of giving the guests a glass of juice filled with God knows what bacteria. Black mold covered shower curtains make you pray you won’t catch the plague here as well. Again, a little simple thing like replacing the 30 year old shower curtains goes a long way when they are covered with black mold. I would never come back to this hotel. It’s also located at an extremely steep hill and requires guests to be in excellent cardio condition or risk a heart attack trekking up stairs and hills. Most guests I’ve seen arrive out of breath by the time they get to the lobby. Not good for elderly folks or people with any physical disabilities.

What a find! A friend recommended Villa Krupp. His words were.. a family run pensione with rock star views! So glad we went with his advice. He nailed it! It was an immersive experience with breath taking views of Capri. The views of the shimmering blue waters and faraglioni rocks we will always remember. And the kind hospitality from Donatella was the intimate experience we were looking for. Definitely recommend 💗

This is a small hotel run by a lovely family. We booked the panoramic sea room which had a huge balcony and a stunning view of the Faraglioni rocks, probably one of the best views on the whole island. Their prices were anywhere from one-third to one-half lower than the price of other hotels with a direct view of the rocks. For the reduction in the rate, don't expect a big breakfast spread, only croissants, juice and espresso. The room is basic, there's no wifi, and no TV. But it has the handpainted italian tile, is very clean, has a firm but comfortable bed, and a hot shower. Also, if you have large luggage, splurge on the porter service that will deliver your bags from the boat directly to the hotel. There are lots of steps and you'll thank me later. We were charged 13€ per bag but our luggage is extremely heavy and it was worth every cent. I'm giving it five stars for the incredible view and a rate that is in line with the amenities provided.

We stayed for 4 nights in Villa Krupp. It is full of history and charm. We stayed in one of the deluxe panorama rooms which was very spacious and also has a terrace nearly the size of the room. Most impressive however was the view overlooking the Faraglioni rocks which are probably the most photographed site of Capri. The staff is small and consists of family members and a couple of foreign workers. All were very kind and made us feel at home. Possible drawbacks for certain guests would be the many stairs to climb up to the hotel, lack of WiFi in the rooms, and serving of a very simple continental breakfast. For those in good physical shape however, and happy with a basic continental breakfast, this hotel is an excellent choice. Another piece of advice: arrange a porter for the luggage from the funicular of Capri or from the Marina Grande where the boats arrive. This is essential except again for those in excellent physical shape.

Old school aristocrats are sure knowhow get the best of the best. The estate is chosen perfectly, perhaps this is the best place on the entire island for the view and proximity to the town. We had a room with a balcony with a breathtaking view. It is spectacular. The location is quiet yet 5-10 min walk to the center. Large sunny room with an enormous terrace with sun lounges and other furniture. No TV. Good WIFI in lobby. Breakfast is served on a terrace with unforgettable view. Very well maintained and clean. State of the art terrace door and sun shade. For sure the owner invested heavily into the hotel. Please be patient and speak PIANO (slowly) with the owner as she isn’t so fast but fluent in English. Ask for luggage service. She will help as there is no taxi can reach the property, but walk is a pleasure without a luggage indeed.|| More than 100 years ago this place often was visited by poets, writers, and other Russian aristocrats who later-on were planning to overthrow aristocracy (btw successfully) on their homeland… Very unique and historic hotel.

We were in Capri for a family excursion in late August. Capri was crowded with tourists. That was when we found Villa Krupp. We were told that the hotel was a bit difficult to reach (because of the many stairs) but that the climb would be worth it. The view, we were informed, was stupendous. Yes, there are many stairs and if you are carrying lots of luggage, it would be a bit of a challenge. However, any effort would be worth the result. Villa Krupp is a beautiful palazzo high on the face of Capri just above the Gardens of Augustus and looking out towards huge outcroppings of stone in the blue Mediterranean. The hotel itself is a classic. Presumably the Russian author, Maxim Gorki, lived here at one point. Certainly the decore is quite remarkable. The rooms are decorated in antiques and vivid Italian tiles. One of the rooms we rented had its own balcony on the sea. The bathrooms were handsomely appointed and the common areas were superb. We enjoyed having the (included) continental breakfast served on an elegant patio with an unobstructed view of the sea. The staff members were helpful and polite. My grandchildren, my wife and I, will think of Capri through the lens of this unusually fine hotel. We would give it a very high recommendation. It truly is luxury at what we considered a reasonable price. So don't let the stairs through the garden daunt you. The reward is greater than the effort expended.

Very expensive B&B but the second B is skimpy. With all the wonderful fresh fruit available at the markets on Capri, you would think that this very expensive hotel would provide some at their breakfast. Instead, you get one cup of coffee or tea, one glass of really cheap tasting imitation orange juice, one croissant with butter and jelly, and one small packaged pre-baked something. When I asked the proprietor for fresh fruit, she said next time buy some at the market myself and bring it to the table--she would not mind (!). Wrong answer, when we had just spent two weeks at various locations all over Italy, paying much less for rooms with very attractive breakfasts included!||On the upside, Villa Krupp has fantastic views of the south shore of the island, and the view at night of the megayachts light up hundreds of feet below is truly spectacular. Although the interior decor of the lobby, rooms, and hallways is austere, the place is immaculately bright and clean. Also, it is very quiet, being on the south side of the island, and accessible only on foot (about a ten minute stroll from the town piazza). ||We will stay there again only if we learn that the breakfast is greatly improved.
