A very pleasant stay, the hotel is clean, chic, has a good restaurant within 50m, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is amazing. The architecture of the villa is unique and the gardens breathtaking. It also has a pool and multiple relaxing areas on the property. Do recommend!

A turn-of-the-century mansion converted from family home to hotel in the 1980s. Nice historic decorations and furniture throughout and well-maintained given its age with modern touches in the bathrooms. Our suite had high ceilings and a cosy glazed terrace sitting area. Good value for money. |A short and scenic walk (15 minutes) down to the charming port and town center. |The included breakfast was plentiful and tasty, served in a glazed garden room. |The owner (?) was very friendly with good English. He provided helpful advice on local trips, beaches and about Asturias more generally. |Breakfast service seemed a bit grumpy (did we do something wrong)? The only downside to a lovely stay.

At the top of the hill from the town, this hotel is steeped in history. It's beautiful facade & lush gardens are like a step back in time. The receptionist, Raphael, speaks excellent English & is very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel & the area. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed & was very quiet. It overlooked the garden & pool. |The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, sadly, but does provide a light breakfast each morning. The whole holiday was very tranquil and the hotel was so nice to come back to after the hustle and bustle of the town. Definitely recommend a stay here. |

We spent five nights here. We had a large, spotlessly clean room and decent sized bathroom. I love the character of the building and the period decoration. Some of the other reviews do not do justice to the reality. Lots of hot water in the room and good wifi. No air conditioning. However, this area is not as hot as other areas. WIndows open but beware of the odd mosquito.||||The breakfast is continental plus ie croissants, juice plus meats, cereal and toast.||||The owner is very helpful and welcoming. We had problems with our hire car and we appreciated his help with translation as my Spanish is limited. He also arranged to leave refreshments in our room as we missed breakfast on our last day due to an early start. Much appreciated too.||||The hotel is situated in a tranquil, uncommercialised location above Luarca, in beautiful gardens. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the harbour where there are some decent restaurants. Be aware there is a fairly steep climb back up to the hotel. It is possible to drive down. ||||It is easy to sightsee from this hotel. You do need a car though. Plenty of parking in the grounds.||||Would defintely recommend this hotel and location to experience Spanish culture away from the crowds and tourist trappings.

A beautiful building inside and out plus wonderful gardens & pool. In a nice quiet location with easy access to port - steep walk back! Should be 4/5* rating by us but Hotel certainly let down by style and content of breakfast - why not a buffet to help yourself from - also lady serving would clearly rather not be there so makes you feel unwelcome. During our 14 day trip and staying at 6 hotels plus the ferry both ways (2 nights here) this hotel has truly the worst pillows we have ever had to sleep on. Such a shame re the negatives as in all other respects it was excellent and we would recommend

Beautiful building, lovely grounds and interesting artefacts wherever you look. However it just needs a bit of oomph!!! we had a lovely room overlooking the gardens and sea in the distance. Glorious old windows but they need renovation. We would loved to have learnt about the history of this villa but could not find anything written. the town of Luarca is easily walkable which is good since the hotel does not offer dinner but beware a steep climb back, involving a number of steps. We enjoyed the simple fresh breakfast but it was in a marquee affair at the side of the villa. Overall worth staying and if you are like us you will spend some time pondering if.........why don't they.........etc

The building and its furnishings make this an extremely attractive place to stay. It is a convenient walk into town but be warned - its a steep climb back! The hotel would have achieved a higher rating but for a couple of factors - we stayed at 6 hotels during our tour and can honestly say the pillow is the worst we have had in any hotel - making it difficult for us to sleep. Breakfast - a buffet so you could help yourself to want you like would be far better - rather than having baskets of items you did not want dumped on your table by a waitress who clearly would rather not be there serving. we would stay again as the hotel is lovely, good parking and well located for the town and visiting surrounding area

We stayed in this unique small hotel for one night . The small hotel is immaculate with period furniture set in the most beautiful garden . Our room with its high ceiling and shutters was lovely .|It’s a unique place to stay that’s for sure .|It was a 10 minute walk down into the traditional fishing harbour, small with a number of bars and restaurants . You can walk to the church on the top of the cliffs with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean .|The hotel was about 3 hours or so easy drive from Bilbao port as we had arrived via Ferry .|The hotel was built by a spanish captain and merchant and is still owned by the family .|They serve breakfast which was fine although don’t offer dinner .|Car parking on site .
