In Guanajuato, I think this is probably the best place to stay if you need some (relative) peace and quiet after a day trekking around this busy city. It's an absolutely stunning property (once you get past the lackluster reception area) and it's up the hill, about a 20-25 min walk from the historic center of town. If you don't like to walk or you're averse to walking uphill (or taking taxis), this is not the place for you.
It has a great, beautifully heated outdoor pool, as well as a geothermal pool and hot tub in the spa area (open to all guests). We loved using both.
The on-site restaurant is good, but so expensive compared to all the other nice restaurants in town. Like, a glass of apple juice was $6 USD. (In comparison, we went down the street and had a huge, amazing omelette AND a latte for $6.)
That said, there are some downsides. Our room was large, with a living room area and bedroom area, but it didn't feel warm and cozy (though the bed was comfortable). It wasn't a room in which we really wanted to hang out. The shower wasn't great, and the toilet leaked--which of course they came and fixed, but it was a bit of a pain. We tried to use the hot tub, and apparently, they don't leave it on and heated all day / evening, so when we arrived it was cold. We had to call someone to turn it on, and they said it would be hot "in a few hours."
But would I stay there again? Probably! If the price was right. We got a good deal, so that made us happy. We also discovered that there are some fantastic restaurants at the top of the hill, a short walk from the hotel, so it turned out to be more convenient of a location than we thought.
