Hotel Villa Monte Vino

Beautiful hotel with lovely garden overlooking the city. The room was nicely decorated and the whole place emanates the boutique feel. One can pay for parking on the hotel’s premises or just on the street, at a reasonable charge. The centre is not far. Chique and pleasant.

Nice place overall, but the service was disappointing. We accepted their request to have the room cleaned every second day instead of every day, but then they only cleaned once in a week. I called asking them to please clean the room, and then they brought toilet paper and towels but still didn’t clean. The guy on the phone didn’t care, and the women at check out didn’t care. Not what you expect from “four stars.”

The hotel is clean and with some stories about the building to tell, but the place is not what I would expect from 4 star hotel. I would rate the place as guest house, with a lot of home kind solutions. Room was very clean and thoughtfully equiped, but there are some comfort details missing, as for example bed side tables. But main experience we have got from poor bed comfort. Mattress was to soft and gave not enough healty support. Double mattress swayed on whole surfes at every small movement. If you are changing the position during the sleep, person next to you will definatelly feel this very much.

Fantastic hotel and great place to stay if you want to visit Potsdam, Park Sanssouci and the various palaces. The shower was amazing in our room and the breakfast was extensive and delicious. Highly recommended!

Lovely large rooms on a beautiful property that has good views across Potsdam.The scattering of chairs and loungers at some of the more scenic vantage points is a splendid touch. This charming villa conversion to a hotel has all the get-away feels of staying in a mansion in the country. With the entrance to Sansoucci Park at the bottom of the street a few minutes walk away its location is perfect. The walk into the main town areas and restaurants is about 15 minutes by the main street. For dinner thought head to the excellent Italian restaurant Assaggi via the back lane - but be prepared for a seriously steep climb! Have a drink in the small Villa Monte Vino bar first. Service is excellent, accommodating and friendly. Plenty of parking out front if you cannot get a spot in their tiny carpark. And yes, many of the rooms are accessible only by tiny steep staircases, but it is worth the extra huff! Finally but by no means least of all, make sure you climb the tower for a brilliant view of the surrounding area. Loved this place and wish we had stayed an extra night because we felt so relaxed staying here.

This is a lovely little hotel built into the side of what was a vineyard, with well thought-out terraces and seating areas for guests. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of foods available. Best of all, coffee was made for each guest on demand. There was none of the machine rubbish that even high-end hotels now serve. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean. We were very pleased.

Beautiful Hotel full of quality and charm, pristine and well kept inside and out. Family run and so welcoming, the breakfast is suburb with top quality produce in plentiful on offer within a delightful breakfast room. The decor is more resonant with a 4 star hotel and the comfort level is definitely 4 star. Potsdam is absolutely stunning, we fell in love with town centre and the Dutch Quarter and can’t wait to visit again ||Shocked to find this Hotel has no Restaurant! Other than Breakfast (which is excellent) there is no other food available so finding a Restaurant to eat out every evening was quite a chore as the location of the Hotel is quite a hilly walk to the nearest Restaurant. Younger, fitter visitors would probably not be troubled with this but being slightly disabled and 63 we found the walk a bit too much and we had to make sure we ate before we returned to the Hotel.

The hotel is located very close to the entrance of Sanssouci palace and the park, and it's about 10 minutes walk to the main pedestrian street where many restaurants are. There is a small garden with nice views towards the city. The hotel also has a gym, sauna and bike rentals. The rooms are newly renovated and cosy. ||We would highly recommend to take the breakfast - it's only 11 euros / person and there is a wide variety of everything on offer. The reception is very friendly and helpful. ||You can reach the hotel from the train station either by taxi (about 15 euros) or by bus. If you take the bus, you need to walk about 300 meters. There seems to be a shortage of taxis in Potsdam though, if you need one, it's best to try to order it well in advance. When we went back to the train station, it took about 45 minutes for taxi to come.

Nice and beautiful place. Had our own bartender and host pretty much! Run by a family/friends. The only complaint is that the room we were in was really hot in the afternoon, but we stayed in May when it is typically warmer. Beautiful area up a hill to drink wine and relax. Walking distance to everything too!

This is a great local family-run hotel. The owners are nice and speak both German and English. The tower part of the hotel offers a great view of Potsdam. Located between Schloss Sanssouci and downtown in a quiet neighborhood. Full German-style breakfast.
