Villa Neri Resort & Spa (Linguaglossa, Sicily) 10 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If you think of volcanoes in Italy, Mount Vesuvius — Pompeii, and all that — probably springs to mind first. But Mount Etna, on Sicily’s eastern coast, is more than twice its size. Which is part of the reason why so many hotels in the region try to outdo each other, advertising the best views of the towering landmark, an active volcano that was named an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. Villa Neri Resort & Spa is one of the privileged few that’s situated right on the slopes of Etna." - Tablet Hotels

From the minute we stepped into reception we were greeted with a warm smile. The front of house team clearly understood that first impressions matter and it wasn’t false. The accommodation and facilities are first class, the hotel staff are as accommodating as you could wish for without the grovelling false front you get from other hotels of this status. The in house restaurant has some amazing food to offer at a reasonable cost well done that team! (Don’t forget to try the Neri wine 😍. The grounds are the work of a team that talented. For the Hotel Manager..well done! as we all know a failure of the staff is a failure of the management.

The property is stunning, and a few staff members made our stay memorable. Natalie at the front desk was incredible—she checked us in quickly, gave us a tour, and truly cared. Hector in the Michelin-star restaurant provided excellent service, and every course was delicious. The garden seating and live music were also wonderful. Our room was beautiful, |with a private patio perfect for stargazing, and the views of Mt. Etna were unforgettable.|Unfortunately, other experiences were disappointing. The bartender, Salvo, was pushy about the welcome drink, slow, and dismissive when I asked for help. My spa visit was stressful—I was accidentally locked in a restroom for 20 minutes with no alarm or staff nearby. Instead of being comped, I was offered chocolate and rushed out for the next client. Several spa features also weren’t working. Check-out was handled poorly as well, with knocks and staff waiting outside the door even after we asked for a short extension.|This hotel has huge potential and a gorgeous setting, but better training, maintenance, and hospitality are badly needed. Thanks to Natalie and Hector, who truly stood out.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Villa Neri. Our room was spectacular and the staff and service were impeccable. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We booked a wine tour nearby at Gambino Vini (highly recommend as well!) and the hotel was kind enough to drop us off and pick us up. Lucrezia at the front desk was most helpful and a delight! Can't wait to return! Don't hesitate. This is the perfect hotel.

The most incredible time, I cannot fault the immaculate service from the staff for our staff. They organised trips with us by sharing various options and price points. The room was spotless, we were upgraded to the spa lodge which was an amazing experience and something I highly recommend for a special occasion. Food selection was great (I'm diary and gluten free too... not easy to do in Italy!). I loved every minute of our staff and would love to return one day.

Just WOW! ||10/10 for absolutely everything. ||The accommodation: we stayed at one of the Lodges & my word it was beautiful! We had our own private pool & sauna. I really liked the view we had of Mount Etna. We were really shocked at the volcano “grumbling” but that was an experience in itself!! The room was immaculate, cleaned once per day & someone comes around on the evening to ensure you have everything. ||Room service available! ||If you want to go into the local town, the hotel can take you and pick you up. We didn’t bother as we were just enjoying the hotel! ||The spa looked great - we didn’t bother using this however due to having similar facilities in our lodge. ||Nothing, I mean nothing is too much to ask for. The service was impeccable- personalised & all the staff knew who was staying where. I am GF and they catered for this without issue. ||The breakfast is so nice worth getting up for, plenty of options! ||We will 100% be returning! ||Oh, and one more thing .. the WINE .. just beautiful

A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff and the front office star, Fabio, for their fantastic service when we stayed at Villa Neri in early June. We had a really great time in this beautiful, luxury villa with simply stunning views of the countryside and Mount Etna – the latter could be enjoyed over drinks by the pool (25 meters, so good for lengths !) served by Salvo, the best barman in Sicily ! || ||Nothing is too much trouble for the team and lifts can be provided to and from the local town and they arranged transport for us to be dropped off (and picked up later) at the lower levels of Etna for us to then take an excursion up Etna to 2,900 meters, not far short of the smoking summit craters !|| ||Just a fantastic stay at Villa Neri – and the breakfasts are amongst the best you’ll ever have, so make sure you’re hungry.|| ||As a little information, we flew into Catania Airport, and they were able to pick us up for the drive (ca. 1 hour) back to Villa Neri – but we realised during our stay that we could, in fact, take a train from Catania (there is a train station both at the airport and at the bus station) to Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, the nearest train station only ca. 20 mins from Villa Neri. Indeed, we took this train back to Catania – great way to also see some countryside.|| ||When the car pulls into Villa Neri, it feels like coming home. Nothing is too much trouble, just soak up the tranquil, relaxing atmosphere and enjoy every moment of it. 10 / 10 from us.|| ||From Simon and Jo (our daughter and her friend also stayed, both 19, and they enjoyed it tremendously too). There is even a vineyard next door which does a great wine tasting and meat / cheese platter which was both informative and fun. || ||Thank you Villa Neri for an amazing time !

Clean spacious rooms, excellent housekeeping. We were so well looked after here! The dining experience at the restaurant was amazing with top quality food and service. They really made sure we had a great time and offered complimentary desserts and coffee afterwards. Breakfast on the terrace was so enjoyable and we all loved the almond granita. Gabriella was an excellent hostess at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for her. When we left she packed bottles of ginger ale for our drive to Catania airport!

This is a beautiful villa by the base of Mt Etna. There is an amazing view from the poolside area overlooking the mountain. The service at Villa Neri was amazing with the staff constantly informing us of any issues that we had and when they had been resolved. For example, the spa was closed for a number of hours due to a technical issue but when resolved the staff informed it was back open and apologised for the inconvenience. The spa is included in the price and it had a sauna, Turkish sauna, mini pool with jets, cold shower that is great for after the saunas, and a scented rain-shower - all of which made this place extremely relaxing. Spa treatments are also available at an additional cost, they are fairly priced and the back massage treatment felt wonderful and personalised to the individual! I cannot thank the staff enough for their amazing customer service in such an amazing location!

Yelp
Excellent hotel and restaurant! Above all expectations in every way- service, food, and location were perfect! Staff went above and beyond to make the vacation relaxing. The room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking Mount Etna. Stunning and highly recommend for a wedding venue, relaxing vacation or a getaway. The restaurant has delicious food (the breakfast alone was worth the price of the hotel!). Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Found this gorgeous spot on the Small Luxury Hotel's site through which I booked three hotels in Sicily. Villa Athena was great and Villa Neri was stellar. Vila Neri could use some help. The service was spotty and the lukewarm reception was a let down. The receptionist was ill informed and impatient. Hospitality utterly lacking.

Yelp
We booked a one night get away to celebrate our 16-year wedding anniversary. Wanting to spare no expense we requested the Feudo Suite for its 6 person jacuzzi with views of Mt Etna and the Nebrodi mountains. Then to have a couples' massage on the day of our arrival followed by dinner at the Le Dodici Fontane. Then to finish our stay another couples' massage before departure. However, this is not how our stay went. Upon arrival near 1400 we were taken to our room where we were told that the jacuzzi was "opened". So we went to book our couples' massage only to find out that the Spa was unable to do a couples' massage since they only had one staff member. So we had two separate adequate massages. Then returned to our room at about 1800 to find that the jacuzzi was still on 24 degrees centigrade. I checked the setting to find it was set to 40 degrees centigrade. Then it was time for dinner, both of our dinners were good. After dinner at about 2200 we returned to our room hoping to enjoy the jacuzzi only to find it still at 24 degrees centigrade. Needless to say we were very disappointed. So first thing in the morning I stopped by the front desk and asked them to have someone look at our jacuzzi. At 0800 a technician came and looked at it. He did the same things I had done the night before. Then said that since it was "open" all night and it was cold, we would just need to wait. When we checked out at 1100 it was only 27 degrees centigrade and that change was only because the sun had been shining on it. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the front desk to which they said that I should have called them the night before. As if, I would want to spend my anniversary with a jacuzzi technician, or that anyone would have been available to fix it anyway. At this point we decided to cut our losses, and cancel our massage since we would have had to wait from 1100 until 1500. When you spend 600 euros for one night at a Resort and Spa you should leave happy, not disappointed.
