We went to stay at the Carriage house suite in November. The house is stunning! We loved our stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful! We were so happy about our experience here every single day. The temperature of the pool was just right and there was a heated jacuzzi by the pool. My daughter swam at the pool every day. There are some small issues may become concern for some people. There were ants everywhere, you may see them in the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. There was no air-conditioner except a very loud fan. Even though , we still loved this villa and will give it all five stars! we would still come to stay here if it allowed us choose again.

The staff here were amazing. They were always available, if not in person, then by text. When we needed something, they brought it promptly. The landscaping and grounds were breathtaking. The location was perfect. You could walk to the boardwalk, lots of restaurants and shops, the centre of town. Lots of street vendors around so you could try the local food. A few of the restaurants on the boardwalk had free margaritas with a meal where you could sit and watch the sunset.

Beautiful, historical Mexican Hotel. Wonderful friendly, staff, clean pool, excellent food. The bed was a little too firm but that didn't keep me from staying for 2 weeks. It was very easy to meet other guest. Had a fantastic time. I was actually there in 2/2023 but the Question doesn't go back that far.

This boutique hotel was in a great location to everything. Check in process was easy, our room was spacious and clean, the pool and hot tub was clean and enjoyable, the property itself was peaceful, relaxing, and quiet. The staff was kind and spoke English and Spanish. I wish they provided me with a key so I can let myself in/out of the main entrance. I also wish they had air conditioning - although late at night I didn’t need it and the floor fan worked great. I would return to this hotel!

This hotel was where D. H. Lawrence wrote one of his best novels, La Serpiente Emplumada. The rooms all have their own unique architecture and decorative touches. We stayed in the Royal Palm room, with a king-size bed and jacuzzi! The grounds have wonderfully beautiful gardens, a pool and it's very quiet. Perhaps the best part is the hotel restaurant, Chatterley's. Delicious gourmet meals at very reasonable prices. It's all in Chapala's center just a block from the Malecón.

I am not actually a guest but have seen a friend's room and met some of the staff...and had dinner. This is absolutely First-Class!! A real gem in our humble pueblo of Chapala. Walking distance to everything, but on a nice, quiet street. The adjoining restaurant, Chaterley's is wonderful. Amazing food, well thought out menu, excellent food and good prices. Really, a charming place.

What a find! Beautifully restored old Mexican villa. Famous for the fact that DH Lawrence stayed there and wrote part of his novel The Plumed Serpent! This was a great experience. Beautiful room with a terrace, use of pool and Jacuzzi. The hotel is managed by Sandra, one of the best customer service professionals I’ve ever come across and is she is bilingual. Nothing was too much for her and she even got me a memory foam for my bed when I asked her. Everyone who worked there, from the hotel manager to the women who cleaned my room looked happy to be there and enjoying their work - always a good sign - and the atmosphere was one of peace and harmony and beauty. Will go back and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake Chapala area.
