Great location close to the beach, the price was great, the breakfast was good (and the lady who ran it was very nice), staff was nice and friendly. We got in really early, but they were able to get our room ready for us so we could get in. Doesn’t have an elevator (lift), which was disappointing. However, that’s not a deal breaker. Room was charming and romantic.

Such a nice hotel. Warm welcome. Nice room with lots of atmosphere. Can only recommend staying here if you want a stay with a personal touch. Located close to the beach as well as the center and old town. The hotel was decorated so nice for the christmas season.

The location is fantastic, not very far from the beach and old town. It's a beautiful hotel on the outside. The Starr was super friendly. The rooms are clean and simple, it has everything you need for a good night's rest, the pillows are super comfy. I would stay here again.

Quaint little hotel a few blocks from Avenue d'Anglais. Away from the buzz of Old Nice but easy to get to if you are a walker. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Not a good hotel if you have mobility issues as there are lots of steps. Rooms are lovely - although I would recommend a superior room - my first night at the start of my trip was not a superior room, and although comfortable - no light and no view. Superior room at the end of my trip was perfect. It is an old building so do bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper - walls are thin, but the city is quiet at night in this area.

This is a small, unpretentious hotel in a convenient location close to the sea, the Alsace-Lorraine tram stop, Nice-Ville railway station, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and within easy reach of old Nice, on foot or by bus. Reception staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. We liked our room (6). It overlooked the road, but was quiet and comfortable. The shower-room was small but perfectly convenient. We had booked into breakfast, which was delicious. There wasn’t the choice you might get in one of the larger chain hotels, but then there weren’t the crowds of people either - o more than satisfactory quid pro quo. If felt like a private, family-run hotel and it felt French, rather than international - it suited us very well and we would definitely choose it again.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise for my wife and I. Our room was small but cosy. The staff was very helpful and kind, they deserve all the credit and respect they can get. Great location, just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, supermarkets and train station. ||We'd love to come back. ||Barbro and Rune

This hotel was so quaint and cute! It was in close proximity to the beach, the tram, and places to eat and shop. The staff was so welcoming and made part of our honeymoon special! We adored the French breakfast and seating areas, inside and outside (garden). If you want to avoid cookie cutter hotels and stay somewhere special, Hôtel Villa Rivoli is the place to stay.

This lovely small hotel was perfect for our 3 night stay. No lift but we didn’t need o e as there are only three floors. We’re a family of five and they accommodated us perfectly with two rooms next to each other and one connecting. Rooms were small but perfectly formed. Two streets back from the lovely promenade was an excellent location to be close to the beach, restaurants but quiet enough to sleep. We didn’t have the breakfast but the breakfast room was really lovely. We’d definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Good location and helpful staff. Concierge was good but not the best. Room was pretty clean and sufficient. Good overall value given the location and but I agree With the other reviews that the room is very small but I did not have a problem with the room being dirty as others have experienced.

Yelp
Filthy dirty. Horrible people. Loud. Rude. Avoid this trap at all costs. Garbage from the last patrons still stained the bathroom floor. Teeny tiny uncomfortable room. Disgusting rude front desk staff argued with you in French about any complaints. This place single handedly ruined Nice. I would rather sleep in jail. Throw your Lonely Planet book into the garbage for misleading and false information.

Yelp
Pretty bad. We saw a cockroach in our room for starters. There was trash on the floor on day 2. The room wasn't large enough to have my suitcases open on the floor, and there was only a few inches on either side of the bed. You'll have to climb over the other person to get anywhere. Our room was right under the reception area which was delightful. The shower is poorly designed and I kept bumping the lever switching it to scalding hot. In the morning, it alternated between scalding and freezing on its own. Oh yeah, and the safe was locked so we couldn't use it. Walls are thin so expect to hear the TV next door.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff and really dirty rooms. We had to leave as soon as we checked in because the place was so bad. The staff insisted that we were lying about the garbage in our room and that it was actually our own.... Would not wish a night in this hotel on my worst enemy.
