Hotel Villa Rivoli has a timeless old style elegance, superb location - a short stroll to the promenade and city centre - with really lovely welcoming staff. Good value, clean and very homely. I would highly recommend it.

Charming hotel in a quiet street close to the promenade. We arrived late from the airport but got a very warm welcome. In fact, even more memorable than the hotel's authentic belle epoque features is how happy and helpful all the staff are. In addition, there is a secluded private garden at the side where you can eat breakfast or relax during the day. The bedrooms are small but clean and, although the decor probably needs tarting up a bit, it's a very relaxing place to stay.

This hotel was recommended through a YouTube channel and they were absolutely right. This hotel is so wonderful. They have beautiful rooms with cable TV and air-conditioning and very comfortable beds. The staff is so wonderful and caring. There is a backyard but can be used by guest that smells like honeysuckle and another wonderful flowers. They do have free parking on site. The hotel is only 2 1/2 blocks from the promenade and only a block and a half from rue de las France that has all the restaurants and bars your heart desires.

BEWARE Hotel contacted me after my visit to offer payment to remove my bad review! We imagine they do the same for all bad reviews, which is why its mostly good reviews remaining on different review sites.Cannot recommend at all, half the rooms are a scam, do not look like photos at all, extremely noisy all day and night due to no sound proofing. The room we have the toilet was so close to the wall, the knees were against it.Very expensive for what it is, clean rooms but old dirty common areas, and breakfast was a real disappointment, cheap dry bread and cakes.

We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel and it was a perfect base. We stayed in a small, twin-bedded room. It was quiet and furnished in traditional French style and had a great en-suite bathroom with shower. A 5-minute walk to the Promenade des Anglais and about 10 minutes to the old town with a huge choice of restaurants. Some lovely cafes close by for breakfast too. It has a pretty little garden where we had a welcome cold beer when we returned from sightseeing in the afternoon. It was a 5-minute walk from the airport tram. Perfect for us and I would highly recommend.

This was a quaint historic hotel very near all that Nice had to offer. We had a wonderful stay and the staff were very helpful. The facade and staircase was attractive. As a family of four, the room was tight but comfortable. Easy to walk everywhere with all transport nearby.

I booked a Traditional Double/Twin Room but was given a basement room instead — a clearly cheaper option according to the hotel’s own website, booking platforms, and the pricing sign outside. When I raised the issue, the staff insisted this was the correct room, despite all evidence to the contrary. It felt like gaslighting. No refund or compensation was offered, just the excuse that the hotel was full. This left a bad impression and unfortunately tainted my entire experience at the hotel. Be careful — they may try to downgrade you while charging full price.

What a friendly little hotel. Location is perfect and easy to find/reach. Staff are all wonderful and ready to help. Great breakfast with lovely service. Rooms are quite small so be aware of what category you book.

Yelp
Good location and helpful staff. Concierge was good but not the best. Room was pretty clean and sufficient. Good overall value given the location and but I agree With the other reviews that the room is very small but I did not have a problem with the room being dirty as others have experienced.

Yelp
Filthy dirty. Horrible people. Loud. Rude. Avoid this trap at all costs. Garbage from the last patrons still stained the bathroom floor. Teeny tiny uncomfortable room. Disgusting rude front desk staff argued with you in French about any complaints. This place single handedly ruined Nice. I would rather sleep in jail. Throw your Lonely Planet book into the garbage for misleading and false information.

Yelp
Pretty bad. We saw a cockroach in our room for starters. There was trash on the floor on day 2. The room wasn't large enough to have my suitcases open on the floor, and there was only a few inches on either side of the bed. You'll have to climb over the other person to get anywhere. Our room was right under the reception area which was delightful. The shower is poorly designed and I kept bumping the lever switching it to scalding hot. In the morning, it alternated between scalding and freezing on its own. Oh yeah, and the safe was locked so we couldn't use it. Walls are thin so expect to hear the TV next door.

Yelp
Extremely rude staff and really dirty rooms. We had to leave as soon as we checked in because the place was so bad. The staff insisted that we were lying about the garbage in our room and that it was actually our own.... Would not wish a night in this hotel on my worst enemy.
