Hotel Villa San Francisco

What a nice clean place with a pool and a free breakfast if you stayed there. Great location for walking on the Malicone and shop the hand made local art work.

Our new favorite pet friendly hotel lakeside! Historical and absolutely beautiful architecture. We got a suite for a very reasonable price complete with refrigerator, AC, TV, and even a giant terrace overlooking the malecón in Chapala. There is also a pool as well as a solar heated jacuzzi! Bar on site as well as a restaurant and breakfast is included. Super pet friendly - even for our Great Dane :)

Looks very nice but hot water was off our last night. Cold shower. The AC died too. If its late, you wont get something fixed. The staff there are all very nice. Very accommodating. Its a handy location to walk the Malecon ,The down town is around the corner. Unlike Ajijic the streets and sidewalks are flat. So they are walkable. Breakfast was included and it was good. The room was smallish but adequate. The lake is in front across the road of course. Its pretty but nobody uses it. A huge lake that nobody uses. Polluted? and it cant be rejuvenated? Evidently the sewer system in Chapala is iffy. Flushing toilet paper is ?? They dont tell you this but if you mention it,they suggest....

A big shout out and thank you to Mauricio, Maria, Paul and all of the wonderful staff at Hotel Villa San Francisco We recently had the pleasure to stay in this quaint wonderful boutique hotel. I booked one of the Villa Rooms for an extended stay of 10 nights with my wife and my sister-in-law. What caught my eye when looking at places to stay in the area was first location and then how the actual hotel appealed to me. From the moment we arrived there was that welcome feeling. We were greeted by Paul at the desk who helped us get settled into our room. We fell in love with both the feel and the looks of this hotel. It seemed like any of the small issues that we may have had were addressed immediately by the wonderful staff. I speak very little Spanish but understand more than I can speak as for the staff that worked all hours communicated well in both Spanish and English to help with any questions that arose. As for my wife she is bi-lingual and my sister speaks fluent Spanish. We had a small problem with our shower head on the first day of our arrival and also with the tub draining a little slow. When we left to go for a walk on the Malecon which is just right out the front door across the street, by the time we returned which was no more than a 1/2 hour Mauricio who was there for us pretty much our entire trip explained that we were all set and that they had changed the shower head and fixed the slow tub. Coming from the Plumbing trade I was very impressed. The breakfast that was included with the room stay was always fresh and excellent. Thank you again Mauricio! Great location to the malecón. The pool was so fun and the margaritas delicious. The beds could be a bit softer but it was quiet. Great shower water pressure and HOT.

It's a cute and quaint hotel. Breakfast is delicious!! Hospitality is excellent. My only gripe is our hot water went out during my shower but was quickly fixed. Besides that I will definitely stay here again. There's a pool and jacuzzi we have yet to try. Hopefully we'll get in before our departure.

The staff at Hotel Villa San Francisco were very accommodating. They are friendly and courteous. The food (breakfast) is very good. A menu of choices is great. I was sitting by the pool having a cocktail and needed a bite. I let the chef surprise me. The enchiladas she prepared were delicious. Authentic Mexican cuisine without extras. The Villa is beautiful. Rooms are clean. However, Some of the rooms could do with a refresh. But, very clean and I enjoyed my stay. Oh, and let's not forget the spa services. I received an amazing massage.

I was staying at a friend’s house in Ajijic and decided to spend a day in Chapala. Whenever I see an attractive hotel I am drawn to go and see inside and ask a lot of questions.||||I visited the hotel Villa San Francisco in Chapala during the second week of September 2020. I did not stay overnight but had breakfast and an evening meal there. I recently retired from my own hotel inspectorate company so really know more than most.||||They showed me over the hotel and grounds. I looked at every room and was amazed at the quality of the furnishings, fittings, and abundant artwork everywhere.||||The standard of cleanliness was top class. They do have a nice clean pool and a plunge pool; all was working and being used when I was there. Next to the pool is the massage parlour where a lady masseuse is usually on duty, I overheard a lady complementing the service she received there.||||A landscape gardener just ripped every plant and shrub from the gardens and replaced them with modern arrays of new plantings with semi-mature plants. You can sit in the lovely gardens at the front and rear of the hotel, so quiet and relaxing. I sipped on a Mango Margarita, which was so delicious I had a second one.||||There are rooms for every taste there is even a large family apartment with three queen beds and cooking facilities. The beds and mattresses in all the rooms were of a high standard and should give a decent night’s sleep.||||Early in the evening, I was surprised by the sounds of Chopin coming from a baby grand piano in the reception; it gave me lasting memories while eating a divine evening meal. I must admit I lingered a little longer than necessary because of the beautiful talents of a local lady pianist.||||The hotel is right across the street from the Malecon and the wonderful lake, five minutes’ walk to the public indoor markets, 10 minutes’ walk to the park and public tennis courts, you could not find anything more convenient, whatever you require or seek is right there or around the corner.||||When I return from the Pacific coast later in the year, I will not hesitate to stay at this little gem of a boutique hotel, boutique and beautiful.||||Believe me this is no ordinary hotel, it has a touch of magnetic magic, which will make people return time and time again.||||I just have to give credit where it is due, and this lovely hotel with its go further to please you multilingual staff was a breath of fresh air.
