A great gem that is a step back in time. The family owned hotel has 40 rooms and an amazing garden. It is, literally, steps away from the main street of Taormina. Service is excellent and the staff is very friendly, accommodating and helpful. They make restaurant reservations and transportation arrangements. The view is spectacular and I recommend that you stay in a room with a balcony. A true island of tranquility.

Hotel Villa Schuler was recommended by a Sicily Facebook group I was following while preparing for our first time trip to Sicily. I am so happy I took this suggestion for our stay in Taormina. It was my favorite town and favorite hotel of our trip. |Everything from the front desk staff, the cleaning of our room, the views, and the best location to walk right out the back of the hotel through their gorgeous gardens right into town. |The main pedestrian street in Taormina is only a few steps away but far enough that there was no noise. There’s plenty to see within walking distance and they have a shuttle to the beach. |We had a garden view room because the sea views rooms were all booked. We were perfectly happy with our room and the view of the garden was beautiful. |The views from the rooftop are amazing. The sea, Mt Etna, what more could you want. |I highly recommend this hotel and if I return to Taormina someday I will only stay here.

We were married in an intimate wedding ceremony at the hotel in October of 2024. The hotel helped us plan the entire ceremony. All of the staff were so kind and helpful. Simona, Elena, Giada, Eric, the entire hotel staff and most especially Mariangela did such a wonderful job creating a perfect day for us. It was like being in a dream! The rooftop setting overlooking the Ocean and Mt. Etna cannot be beat and the hotel gardens made for beautiful pictures. All of the hotel vendors, the celebrant, photographers, hairdresser, the lively musicians and our wedding tuk tuk driver were all the very best and they went above and beyond to create a perfect day. Every part of our stay at the hotel was the very best. The rooms, the breakfast terrace, the history and again the kindness of all of the staff cannot be beat. We will never forget our visit and can't wait to come back to this special place. Other reviews describe the hotel as a piece of heaven on earth and it truly is.

A step back in time to a grand hotel. Large rooms, tall ceilings, period features. This is a beautiful hotel. The team are all warm, friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Garden Villa which had a lovely private courtyard, a small yet functional kitchenette, two bathrooms and a large bedroom. It was all delightful and ever so relaxing. A short stroll through the garden and up a few stairs delivered us into the middle of the main pedestrian mall. Fabulous location and spectacular views. We couldn't have scripted a better Taormina experience. We loved it! Highly recommended.

The location of this multi-generational, family hotel is stunning. We had a corner room with balcony, and a view of the sun-rise over the Mediterranean, the Greek Theater on a hill to the north, the bay of Naxos to the south, and would have had a peek of Etna, which unfortunately, was rather shy during our stay. Our room was large and comfortable with all amenities. Breakfasts were delicious, with a large selection styles. They have a well-stocked bar and a lovely private garden to enjoy your drinks. Cut through the garden and up some stairs (Taormina is situated on a cliff, there will be stairs and hills!) to a lively shopping and restaurant scene. Ten stars for location, and the owners are lovely! We were members of a small group tour.

We had a four night stay here and were more than happy we chose this hotel. The location is perfect with incredible views over the sea. Our room had a large comfy bed and beautiful wardrobes with a bathroom and shower. The shower is a little small and maybe needs updating compared to other hotels we have stayed in but it did not detract from our enjoyment. We loved the tropical gardens and watching the turtles each evening on way, walking through to the town. The staff were always helpful and arranged a trip to the Opera and two of the local beaches for us. Andreas restaurant was a recommendation and that was also a great choice. My only disappointment was breakfast. We only had breakfast once and the service was very slow and the breakfast wasn’t great. I love fruit and yogurt but when a huge plate of unprepared fruit is put in front of you that’s not ideal. Why there wasn’t any prepared fruit slices etc I don’t know. The yogurt was delicious. The pastries ok and my husbands omelette he couldn’t eat as it was rubbery. The coffee also was not good. Maybe it was an off day so I still give the hotel 5 stars as it is really beautiful. I would return and hope the breakfast is better.

This is where you need to stay when you come to taormina- charming property with its own private gardens is one of the best properties I have stayed at in all my travels. Operated by the same family for more than 100 years, they make you feel like a long lost relative coming home. Comfy, well appointed rooms with balconies overlooking the water, made to order breakfasts on the terrace, stunning roof top deck with clear views of Mt Etna and the water. Love this place!

Our 1 night stay at Hotel Villa Schuler has been amazing. The view is as beautiful as the pictures show it to be and the staff has been incredibly welcoming and nice. We would especially like to thank Marco for his help and advices ! In the end, a bit of mud did the trick and solved our problem ! Thank you again for the experience.
