Had a wonderful seven night stay at Villas Caracol, it was just perfect. Perfectly located on a beautiful beach and about 20 min stroll into the centre. |Breakfast was amazing, good choice from menu, also included coffee, juice, toast and topped off with a mimosa ! We also ate lunch at the restaurant a few days and food was delicious. We were very well looked after, especially by Angel. ||All the staff were really friendly and really helpful. ||We stayed in a 2 bed villa which was perfect for family of 4. The cleaners did an amazing job, so thorough, special thanks to Ale and Reyna. ||Sunset drinks were a really nice touch, thank you to the whole team at Villas Caracol for a wonderful break, we hope to be back soon 🥰

We stayed at Villas Caracol for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! The beach is stunning and peaceful, the rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the food was some of the best we had on the island. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and celebrated. They helped us plan all our excursions and surprised us with a free beverage at sunset each evening, which made every day feel special. As a gay couple we felt completely comfortable and cared for. It was the ideal mix of romance, relaxation, and hospitality. We cannot wait to come back!

The hotel is just perfect! The room is beautiful, comfortable and includes everything you need and more. The stuff are amazing and take care with a smile to anything you need. The pool is great and the beach front really nice. Breakfast is amazing with a huge variety. We also ate in the hotel restaurants few times and everything we ate was super and felt very high quality. I can’t think of a better experience while in Holbox.

The gold standard for people who like peace and quiet: Everybody is genuinely friendly. The restaurant is excellent, morning, lunch or dinner. The service by Beto and the rest of the staff was superb, whether you were eating at the restaurant or lazily on the beach. The music was generally very good and the volume was not loud (a very rare thing these days). The hotel is very tastefully built and hidden amongst the palms and trees, it sets the bar high for the rest of the island. The perfect opposite of Cancun's horrible hotel strip. The location is superb, the sea is like a big, private pool, whether you want to swim or walk (the water reaches your knees at the sand banks) all the way to the area with flamingos. The water is fresh in the mornings and nights, and warm/hot during the day. The amount of details, from arranging a free boat trip whilst the place underwent repairs for a few hours, to facilitating borrowing cash, to getting courtesy drinks to watch the sunset, to name but a few (of the very many) things they did for us, this is what really caring about your guests looks like. Didn't get a chance to catch the owner's name but my hat goes off to you sir, this was a vacation to remember. We'll definitely go back.

This hotel is an amazing find. It was everything we wanted and more!||The room is large and seemed freshly renovated (powerful AC, TV, reliable bathroom). The amenities are great, especially the pool and swim up bar, as well as their restaurant that provided many tasty options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.|The hotel staff is amazing and helpful. The location is perfect, at the end of a long strip of hotels so you get less traffic and it feels less touristy. Town center is a 15 minute walk. The bioluminescence tour they arranged for us was fun. Would 100% recommend and go back!

Book it!!! Best place to recharge - rooms were comfortable and clean, amenities are top-notch, food was delicious, the hotel is beautiful (bohemian luxury style), and the is staff super friendly. The complimentary breakfast and sunset drink were the cherry on top. The hotel’s beach location is perfect; very peaceful area. We loved walking down the beach to reach city-center - but taxis are inexpensive (like $7) if you’re not a walker (20 min walk, 6 min taxi ride). Gabriela, Noel, Natalia, and Angel ensured our stay was memorable. We can’t wait to come back and bring more family!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Villas Caracol in early August 2025, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated—not only by the natural beauty and thoughtful layout of the property, but by the warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable staff. Every detail was clearly cared for.||The rooms were impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and well-stocked for comfort and convenience. Reliable Wi-Fi was available throughout the property, which made it easy to stay connected. The on-site restaurant was another highlight—every dish was made from scratch and absolutely delicious, paired with exceptional service.||Thank you, Villas Caracol, for creating such unforgettable memories for our family. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We were recommended this hotel and wow, it exceeded expectations. Boutique size, wonderful comfortable rooms, amazing hospitality and fantastic amenities. Loved lying by the pool, our kids loved the pool bar for “mocktails” and we would return without hesitation. The beach out the front is phenomenal!

Yelp
We spent 4 nights at Villa Caracol and had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful resort right on beach. Our room was nestled in the trees with a wonderful view of the pool. The friendly and open hospitality of the staff really made our stay nice. I highly recommend villa Caracol and I hope to return soon.

Yelp
We planned to stay for five nights and decided we were leaving after 24 hours. Here's what happened: -BED BUGS. There are bed bugs at this hotel. It was mentioned in a previous review, as was the staff's blasé attitude towards the situation. I assure you it was not taken care of, and that we are currently in bed bug hell trying to make sure we do not bring them home. If that isn't enough to persuade you: -There are none-ZERO- beachfront rooms at this hotel. They call rooms that are facing the direction of the beach "beachfront", despite the fact that they do not have beach views and are located behind the pool, bar, restaurant, etc. If you paid for a beachfront room (like we did), you are getting scammed (like we did). -There is no wifi in the hotel rooms. I've seen it mentioned that wifi is "spotty"- it's not. There's none. Wifi is "spotty" throughout the rest of the hotel. -The staff simply is not that kind, welcoming, nor accommodating. We did not feel welcome at all upon check-in, had to ask for things multiple times (for example, our shower was extremely dirty when we got to our room and I had to ask three times for it to be cleaned). The manager, however, is very kind, and offered to refund us the nights we did not stay. -Dead bugs literally all over the pool. -Not the hotel's fault at all, but holbox is the buggiest, most moquito-riddled place I've ever visited. -There are only dirt roads in Holbox. While this is very cool in theory, if it rains you are screwed. The island was practically flooded and it was extremely difficult to get around. -Beds are not comfortable. There are no duvets. -Staff is extremely loud- yelling, laughing, at 6am; which made sleeping past then impossible. -Lastly, our entire room smelled like sewage. TL;DR: Listen, we all love camping. Camping is fun, so long as you *know* you're going to be camping, and are not paying over $300 for a luxury hotel experience. Would never stay again, would never recommend to anyone. Also, bed bugs.
