Hotel Villas Gaia

This is one of the few hotels open late if you arrive in the region later in the evening. The rates are excellent and the rooms are good with nice views of the forest. The breakfast is good and the staff is very helpful. There’s good birdwatching from the rooms in the back in the morning.

Arrived for dinner with no one else in the restaurant. Shortly after other small groups arrived followed by a very large group. We placed our order promptly. We waited at least an hour before our meals arrived. Even though we were the first to arrive our meals came last. I’m not sure if it was due to not staying in the rooms. The large group pre-ordered so understand them getting their meals first. I ordered the fish with Caribbean sauce. The Caribbean sauce was delicious. The fish was tough and dry. I wouldn’t recommend. We received apologies from our server for the wait. I would have preferred a caution in advance that we’d be waiting over an our for our meal and we’d be served last over other customers. We’d been in the past with a positive experience but won’t return.

Me and Randy really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very comfortable and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The restaurant and hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful in teaching us some Spanish. A couple days after we checked out we went back to get a room but they were at capacity. Make reservations! It’s worth it! Great place. I recommend the honeymoon suite for the outdoor tub.

Too much noise from the road which does not let up day or night. I have seen reviews saying this is a queiet place - they might have had a room in a very different location but my room as well as the restaurant was so close to the road that you had to shout sometimes to get over the noise of the trucks. Also a LOT of midges/small mosquitoes at the pool. Staff is lovely and doing their best but I would not reccomend this place

BEWARE FROM FRUD !!!! They overcharge us since April 2025 under a different name on our credit card ( Hotel mono Azul) and we are still fighting to prove it’s them!! Their representative acknowledged the charges and kept brushing us off until we get tired !! |Bad experience!! We booked them through booking.com and they also useless when it comes to dealing with things like that !||This isn’t worth it -DONT book with them !!

We stopped here for lunch on our travels. The food was SO GOOD!! Best meal and cheapest we have had so far as we make our way south! Highly recommend stopping for some food. We didn’t stay here so I can’t comment on the rooms, however the resort looks nice!

I did not stay at the hotel, so I am avoiding room rating. But I think they will be nice. From the outlook, the hotel is very close to the main highway with beautiful restaurants on street level and on the pool level. The rooms are bungalows spread on the property. Lovely little houses. The pool has the best view of the resort and is large with a restaurant. Very convenient. The view is mainly of the beautiful Forrest and some of the ocean. Nice place to stay.

We have not stayed at the hotel but we went to the restaurant on a Sunday evening when most other restaurants were closed and the staff greeted us in a friendly manner. The food was delicious and the service exquisite. We ordered cocktails and the waiter made sure to adjust the margaritas to our tastes by letting us try different batches. Very positive experience !
