Hotel Villas Las Palmas al Mar

This place has caused me the most embarrassing moment of my life. I’ve never felt so discriminated or non accepted ever. I reserved through booking, got to the location to be informed they never received my reservation, but it was someone over the phone (that never identified themselves) who could be heard and understood to tell me that I wasn’t wanted. Never offered to look or accommodate in any shape or form, never looked in a computer just some one who worked there and passed me there phone. I drove almost 3.5hrs to receive this treatment.

The grounds are nice , it’s opposite the beach the Apartments are A disaster. First room, no AC - moved to the next , fridge not working, no water for the shower, door can’t be closed unless you lock it, AC works but it is over the bed and leaks 🤦‍♀️.. we tried a third room which was no different .. the grounds are ok and they have villas that seem in better shape

Josefina made our reservation so easy and communicates well with any needs we had to the staff. Location is perfect and breakfast great with a beautiful view of the ocean from the second floor above the offices. Very nice for a basic hotel. Villas clean with a/c in sleeping area. Downstairs has a room with a king bed and closed room while upstairs has air also, but not as cool since it is open to the main area with curtains partially giving privacy. There are two single beds upstairs. Beach is directly in front of hotel after crossing the street, though not much room for a beach. Nice beach point within 5 minute walk (East) that has chairs for rent and coconut trees for shade.

LOCATION: This was a great trip to Las Terrenas and we had the beach right at our front gate. We got the hotel for a really great price and we were not disappointed. The daily breakfast was always amazing with an array of delicious selections. I would look forward to getting up and filling my belly with tasty delights while overlooking the beach bathing in the sunshine.||||ROOMS: The room service came daily and the pool was always warm and inviting (even while lit up at night). The rooms were not super fancy but they did have air conditioning and a mini fridge which helped. I never complain about rooms while on vacation anyways as I'm only there to sleep and not stay inside really at all so with that said, the beds were comfy. The staff was always friendly and very helpful.||||OVERALL: This is not a party area with much nightlife or happening bars. Its slow paced and really chill. There is a nice beach a little way down where they had a stage with entertainment and such. The restaurants and bars are quaint and affordable so that was a plus. We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful sunshine and always felt safe. It was a great relaxing trip overall and I would definitely go back.||||TIP: Be careful with the taxies as they all have different rates. On the way there it was $90USD, on the way back to the airport they tried to charge double ($180USD). I was pretty taken back but I spoke with the front desk and they accommodated us with the same price from the airport of $90USD. So just watch out not to get ripped off. They also have many bike rentals in the area which can come in quite handy while you enjoy your stay.

We staid over a spontaneous late season weekend and were very positively surprised with the facilities, the very homely welcome and the cleanliness of the whole place. The breakfast was really nice too. They were super accommodating around early check-in and late checkout and the location is quiet at night allowing for good sleep. We will gladly visit again if we are up to the same region another time. |

My stay here was amazing. Josephine, the manager, treated our entire group like family and made sure we were always taken care of. The villa was very clean and well kept, I slept very comfortable every night. The hotel is across the street from a beautiful beach and walking distance from many shops and super markets. If you are into dancing there is a great place to dance at night 5 minutes away walking. The villa we were in sleeps 5 very comfortably. I will definitely be back!! I loved my stay from start to finish. OH and the food is GREAT!!! Thank you Josefina for everything!

I spent a week at the villas in late July. What a fabulous little gem! Josefina, the GM is amazing as were the rest of the staff. The hospitality couldn’t be beat and the villas were charming. The front porches with rocking chairs and ceiling fans were a gathering place for friends every morning for coffee and every evening as well! The beach is just steps away and the perfect place to view sunsets. The pool and grounds are quite nice and are meticulously taken care of! Cannot wait to return next summer!

Very bad experience. Could not locate our prepaid reservation. Very slow to check in. Clothes from previous guests left in closet. Bathroom door broken. No hot water! No wifi! Shower didn’t work. The manager was not helpful and got angry when we asked for hot water or to change rooms.
