Frankly in a nutshell, the dirtiest place we have had in 3 weeks in Japan. The floor in the breakfast room is covered with a black layers of dirt tracing the footsteps of the guests between the foodstands and tables, appetizing as little as the food offer which has nothing to do with the visuals in the elevator and and walkways. The room does not get cleaned, only bins are emptied and towels changes. Our room was tiny and dirty so we had to ask for it to be cleaned again. So apart from the amazing location every thing else is poor. I wonder where the other high scores come from but it was such a disappointment I had to write this review. Do not go there if you care about hygienic rooms and fresh food.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful with forwarding luggage to our next hotel. The rooms were a little outdated around the edges but the beds were comfy and there was decent enough space. The location is the real stand out for me. Sandwiched between Pontocho and Nishiki Market. It couldn't be better. A fairly priced taxi to and from Kyoto station.

Good location to covered mall filled with shops, restaurants, and coffee shops. Our room, 213, had two beds. They put a lot of stuff in a tight space. Bathroom was very small with tub/shower combo. Water pressure was great. Only daily trash removal and towel exchange which was fine by us. Two water bottles left in room each day. Breakfast was okay. Lots of Japanese choices. They did have yogurt and some fruit, and cold cereal if you didn’t want soup, rice or other Japanese dishes. Also small bites of various sweets. Coffee machine and cold drink dispenser is also available in late afternoon.

It's a basic hotel. We were here for 3 nights. Unfortunately, there's no housekeeping. They only changed the towels and cleared the trash. Other than that ... we were satisfied.

Filthy to the level I wonder if they even have a housekeeping team. Corridor floors are stained and gross, but it’s the room floors that are really the issue-crumbs, fluff, dirt, grime from the last years of guests-it’s just disgusting and I wonder if hygienic. Rejected the first rooms they assigned because they were so bad-in one they’d not even wiped surfaces after the last guests. Lobby & cafe were desolate as well. Just one to avoid.

Good location near to the main shopping district. The rooms were clean and relatively spacious for Japan however, the decor was dated and is in need of a refurbishment. The bathroom smelled and there was only a small shelf for toiletries - certainly not big enough for two people sharing the space. The breakfast was adequate but most food options had run out by 8am and not replenished despite the breakfast service being open until 9.30am. The staff were friendly and the hotel clean.

Excellent customer service. The staff went the extra mile to help us finding a lost passport. Wide rooms. Central position, served by autobus and metro.
