Restaurant Review, November 2027 I am reviewing the restaurant we visited in November 2027. This hotel restaurant, beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Lucerne, is a true hidden gem that perfectly combines elegance, comfort, and fine cuisine. The setting is absolutely stunning. Nestled directly by the lake, the restaurant offers breathtaking views over the water and surrounding mountains, which make dining here a truly special experience. Whether you choose to sit indoors in the stylishly furnished dining area or outside on the terrace, the atmosphere is calm, refined, and relaxing. The interior is tastefully decorated, very clean, and well maintained, with attention to every detail. The service was excellent throughout our visit. The staff were attentive, polite, and genuinely eager to ensure that every guest felt welcome and well cared for. We appreciated their professionalism and the way they anticipated our needs without ever being intrusive. It was clear that guest satisfaction is a top priority here. The food was outstanding. Every dish we tried was prepared with great care, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The ingredients tasted fresh and high in quality, and the menu offered a nice balance between local specialities and refined international options. Portions were just right, generous but not overwhelming. It’s evident that the kitchen takes pride in its craftsmanship and consistency. There are plenty of parking spaces available directly outside the hotel, making it very convenient to reach by car. The overall facilities are modern, spotless, and well looked after, which enhances the overall experience even more. The price, quality ratio is very good. While it is certainly on the higher end of the price range, the overall standard, the quality of the food, and the beautiful lakeside setting fully justify the cost. It’s a place that offers excellent value within its category, a fine-dining experience that feels fair for what you receive. Overall, this restaurant left a lasting impression on us. It combines a wonderful location, impeccable service, and refined cuisine in a way that makes every visit memorable. We would happily return and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sophisticated dining experience.

My wife and I spent two nights at Vitznauerhof. October 31 through November 2, 2025. We booked a Romantic Weekend and we could not have been more favorably impressed, without exception, from check-in to check-out. We had an incredible view of the lake, with a balcony. We booked a private whirlpool (1 hour) session and massage (30 min) in the spa. Both were excellent. We had a 4 course dinner that was well presented and cooked. Breakfasts were very good with eggs, bacon, pancakes and related all made to order.|While the whole team was pleasant, helpful and friendly. I want to mention in particular, Eva at Reception had that friendly natural personality that cannot be taught, as well as a wonderful smile that was as real as she is. A big thanks to her and the rest of the team.|Finally, if i force myself to find something that was not to our liking, I would have to say that we were unable to adjust the temperature in the room, as the temperature control was locked. That should be adjustable. (They did adjust it when we asked them). Secondly, while the internet is highspeed and fine, the fact that the TV was not connected to the internet, prevented screen sharing. This should be connected and open in my opinion. |For sure. We will be back.

The Vitznauerhof has been one of our favorite hotels for 26 years. I was no longer self-employed for two years until October 1, 2025. When I visited the hotel again, it felt like more than just a home. I love this hotel and the encounters and mutual respect that come with it. I love helping brides at this wonderful hotel with their bridal hairstyles and applying the perfect makeup. We would like to thank the entire Vitznauerhof team for their long-standing friendship and mutual trust. It is a home for me. This hotel sits in a gorgeous seat on Lake Luzern, complete with magnificent views, amazing sunset experiences, a secret lakeside private sauna, pretty rooms, and a terrific breakfast. It sits right near the train/funicular that takes one up to the top of Mt Rigi (special hiking and views). Relaxing sitting room and delightful spa. The lakeside restaurant opened just for us on a beautiful warm fall day.

Very pretty and clean hotel with friendly staff. Nice view of the lake. Breakfast and dinner was also good. Spa is nice if not too many people. Rooms could be a bit more decorated.

The hotel was fine and premises beautiful until we made the mistake of having dinner at the hotel restaurant. The hotel had a wedding at the time so we were seated at reception. Service took forever. The 4-course menu left you hungry and they did not agree to make any changes to it (fun fact, they would have made a change for the price of charging the swap as an extra portion on top PLUS 6chf compared to the price on the menu, even though the 4-course menu portions were smaller). Considering there was only one set menu choice available this was a joke if two people wanted to eat at the same time.

A place of sheer beauty. Life is better at the lake and the time we spent here helped us wind down and enjoy the excellent food, friendly service and good quality spa treatments. This grand old hotel has been revamped with taste. Well done.

We spent a night at the hotel, it was brilliant ! We arrived and received warm welcome from Philipp ! The room was spacious, with an amazing view on the lake ! We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant which was great, delicious food and great service by Eva! cocktails at the bar were also fantastic !

We stay here each time we visit Vitznau. Fantastic staff. Great lunch/dinner spot right by the lake. Complimentary breakfast, sauna, fitness and swimming pool. Be sure to ask for fan for bedrooms during hot summer months. There is a small grocery store nearby. Rigi station to catch trains up to Rigi Kalbad mountains plus boats to Lucerne and surrounding areas is a short walk from hotel. There is parking at hotel if you're renting a car.

Amazingly beautiful hotel. Right on the water Lake Lucerne. Wonderful service. Lovely magnolia trees. Can't wait to visit again.

This is quite an upscale hotel and can feel somewhat stuffy given the grand staircase high ceiling's etc., but it was a very nice place to stay. The reason this is not getting four stars is because it has no air conditioning and I don't care how old the building is or it's landmark status you can pipe in space pack air conditioning and not ruin the exterior look of a building. Prior to our arrival I requested a foam pillow and they sent a note saying that they did not have foam pillows. After we arrived we saw a list of eight different types of pillows of which one was ergonomic which was exactly the foam type of pillow I was looking for so if you want that kind of thing make sure you send them an email asking for a description of all the pillow options so you can order yours in advance. There are two parking lots on the premises, one in front of the building with a few spots basically under the street that are covered and then an open lot over a somewhat steep incline bridge to the south of the building. They do push hard to get you to make reservations for one of the restaurants, they said they were completely full when we were there but we never saw any of the seating full out on the terrace or on the water where one of the restaurants is. The prices are sky high as you would imagine for this type of high-end property. A glass of wine was 15 CHF and beer was 8! After spending less than two dollars US for beers in Czechoslovakia and Hungary this was a punch in the face. The rooms were nicely appointed as the pictures show. There was a little bit of dirt by the switch plate at the front door and there was a weird hairy type of substance where the shower doors rolled into each other. They need to clean those areas a little better. They have nice comfy robes and slippers in the closet and a mini fridge stocked with 2 L of tapwater that they refill every day. Luckily the evening temperatures dropped into the low 60s so we were able to open the window in the bathroom and in the bedroom, place the stand fan in the bathroom and blow out air so that we had a cross breeze in the room. Had it been 10°F hotter we would've been uncomfortable. Luckily there were few bugs so we did not have trouble even though none of the windows had screens. We did not use the spa or fitness center, although the pictures looked nice. Each floor had a coffee station on the main landing with Nespresso pods, hot water, tea and some whole fresh apples. The breakfast buffet which was included in our room was delicious. Servers would bring you fresh coffee and clear your plate between your courses. They had an omelette and egg making station, cooked bacon and sausages, a juicing station with fresh fruit you would cut and juice yourself, plenty of very high-quality fresh baked loaves of bread, lots of fresh deli meats and delicious roast beef, smoked salmon and very good cheeses, they had a full honeycomb, homemade preserves and jams, plenty of fresh cereals, several pastries, and juices. At 300 CHF A night this is certainly not a deal but a very nice place to stay if you can live without air conditioning.
