We had an incredible experience at this hotel. We had the most beautiful view of the lake from our balcony. The room was modern and tastefully decorated and the bed was comfortable. Loved the provided robes, flip flops, beach bag and beach towels in the room. Husband used the gym which was decent, the sauna and jacuzzi were great. We used the paddle boards too. The breakfast was amazing. Can’t say enough about this place!||The only criticism is that the coffee station on our floor was not kept stocked of clean cups and spoons.

Vitznau is a beautiful small town. We traveled from Zurich taking trains and busses, the hotel is a short walk from the bus stop. The hotel is very aesthetic and has been recently renovated. The staff is very friendly and helpful with recommendations. It rained while we were there but the hotel can keep you entertained with the views, restaurants, spa, and pool. We ate at Sens which was outside (covered) by the lake, and we highly recommend eating at Inspiration. It was a wonderful experience. We also did a day in Lucerne, about an hour with bus and trains and the hotel helped us with directions.

This was an AMAZING place to stay with unbelievable views. The staff were extremely friendly and super helpful! The breakfast in the morning was delicious, as was the coffee. The spa services were FABULOUS and paddle boarding in Lake Lucerne was unforgettable. There is a lounging area with small whirlpool, sauna, and comfortable chairs to relax in the sun. The area had good restaurants and coffee spots, however we traveled about 15-20 mins for meals because there weren't too many options nearby. We did the Rigi cable car up the mountain which was great, but a bit pricey. I would definitely stay here again!

We spent a weekend at this hotel in the family suite. The family suite is on the top floor, with beautiful views to the lake Lucerne. The room was in great condition, with lovely bathrooms. Only a few points need improvement: the internet, as it was quite unstable. And the bedrooms would need in summer to have blackout curtains. Not only to keep the room darker at 5am but also to try to keep the heat out. We had ventilators, which were a great help, but not enough. It was great to have the coffee/tea station in each floor. The kettle did need descaling though, as there was a lot of limescale in it. Overall we had a very nice stay. The restaurant sens was delicious with the pop up offer they had. Service was friendly overall. And great to be able to use SUPs on the lake.

Absolute perfection. ||There is nothing at all to fault at Hotel Vitznauerhof. It is exceptional. ||Swiss hospitality at its very best. Raphael and his team there are first class and all so very friendly. ||We were only meant to be there a night or two, but loved it so much we extended our stay twice and we can't wait to return.||I'm loathed to write this review because it is such a hidden gem of a place that I don't really want to share it with anyone, but really, the truth is, it is SO GOOD that everyone should go stay there at least once. Though be warned, once you do stay there, you won't want to stay anywhere else.

I am only reviewing the restaurant as we were not hotel guests, which was probably one of the reasons the restaurant service was so poor. We were gathered to celebrate a birthday with my family at this beautiful location. We had made a reservation for 9 people and one person got sick and did not manage to join. As a result, we waited for over 45 minutes just to get the menus. We had to ask for water and a drink multiple times and the staff simply ignored us. At one point a hostess came to introduce herself but then disappeared when we asked for menus and she found out we are not hotel guests. Others ate and left before we could order. The menu is actually very interesting with vegetarian main options and meat as an optional side. But unfortunately nobody explained. The main dish portions varied extremely - from a very full portion risotto to a tiny beetroot steak, which was merely 150/200g, more the size of an appetizer. With this waiting time, we could not order more food and some people left hungry after paying 32 chf for a main course. Overall the food was tasty but not consistently so. Then during a family toast, 5 staff members came to get the plates, the most attention we got the whole evening, but disrupting the toast. Overall amazing location and decent food, but the poor coordination of the service made the experience very disappointing.

Not much to write. Absolutely perfect gateway. Very nice rooms, fantastic food, superb staff! Absolutely love it! Definitely one of the best hotels in Switzerland!! Interior, style, settings, no faults at all. Hands on director and deputy director.

We, a delegation of Pharma executives, stayed at the hotel for meetings. We can absolutely recommend this hotel to any company looking for a place away from the office to hold meetings. The facilities are modern and every effort is made by its staff to meet the needs and wishes of the 'customer'. A special 'thumbs up' for the kitchen staff. Seldom had such good food at a hotel in Switzerland.

Yelp
We stay here each time we visit Vitznau. Fantastic staff. Great lunch/dinner spot right by the lake. Complimentary breakfast, sauna, fitness and swimming pool. Be sure to ask for fan for bedrooms during hot summer months. There is a small grocery store nearby. Rigi station to catch trains up to Rigi Kalbad mountains plus boats to Lucerne and surrounding areas is a short walk from hotel. There is parking at hotel if you're renting a car.

Yelp
This is quite an upscale hotel and can feel somewhat stuffy given the grand staircase high ceiling's etc., but it was a very nice place to stay. The reason this is not getting four stars is because it has no air conditioning and I don't care how old the building is or it's landmark status you can pipe in space pack air conditioning and not ruin the exterior look of a building. Prior to our arrival I requested a foam pillow and they sent a note saying that they did not have foam pillows. After we arrived we saw a list of eight different types of pillows of which one was ergonomic which was exactly the foam type of pillow I was looking for so if you want that kind of thing make sure you send them an email asking for a description of all the pillow options so you can order yours in advance. There are two parking lots on the premises, one in front of the building with a few spots basically under the street that are covered and then an open lot over a somewhat steep incline bridge to the south of the building. They do push hard to get you to make reservations for one of the restaurants, they said they were completely full when we were there but we never saw any of the seating full out on the terrace or on the water where one of the restaurants is. The prices are sky high as you would imagine for this type of high-end property. A glass of wine was 15 CHF and beer was 8! After spending less than two dollars US for beers in Czechoslovakia and Hungary this was a punch in the face. The rooms were nicely appointed as the pictures show. There was a little bit of dirt by the switch plate at the front door and there was a weird hairy type of substance where the shower doors rolled into each other. They need to clean those areas a little better. They have nice comfy robes and slippers in the closet and a mini fridge stocked with 2 L of tapwater that they refill every day. Luckily the evening temperatures dropped into the low 60s so we were able to open the window in the bathroom and in the bedroom, place the stand fan in the bathroom and blow out air so that we had a cross breeze in the room. Had it been 10°F hotter we would've been uncomfortable. Luckily there were few bugs so we did not have trouble even though none of the windows had screens. We did not use the spa or fitness center, although the pictures looked nice. Each floor had a coffee station on the main landing with Nespresso pods, hot water, tea and some whole fresh apples. The breakfast buffet which was included in our room was delicious. Servers would bring you fresh coffee and clear your plate between your courses. They had an omelette and egg making station, cooked bacon and sausages, a juicing station with fresh fruit you would cut and juice yourself, plenty of very high-quality fresh baked loaves of bread, lots of fresh deli meats and delicious roast beef, smoked salmon and very good cheeses, they had a full honeycomb, homemade preserves and jams, plenty of fresh cereals, several pastries, and juices. At 300 CHF A night this is certainly not a deal but a very nice place to stay if you can live without air conditioning.
