Hotel Waldhaus Ohlenbach

This is a real 4star hotel ! Spacious well equiped rooms, good large beds, modern bathroom and very clean ! Good wellness, especially the outside panorama-pool (32°) was gorgeous. Very quiet environment - in middle of the forest and good starting point for hikes. Large restaurant with beautiful view. The breakfast is really unbelievable - such a variety and high quality !! +Top personel !

Lovely place, very quiet, great walks or do nothing. Excellent food, super friendly staff. Suitable for small and large families with excellent mountain biking - electric or not. We come here once or twice per year, summer/autumn and/or winter. Impressively, even in Covid distance times, the owner managed to make it a lovely place to come. The have been some renovations to increase the spa area and to upgrade some of the rooms.

We came here with the whole family for a short 3 day trip between Christmas and New Years. As expected the weather was cold... luckily the hotel greats you with a warm fireplace and a cozy atmosphere. You immediately felt part of the family. We started with some coffee and cake. The cakes are freshly made in the hotel and taste fantastic. The delicious dinner and the opulent breakfast were part of the deal. ||||They bake their own bread as well. Try it with some butter and you might not want anything else. They share the recipe in case you want to make it for yourself.||||The two Saunas overlook the valley and the outdoor, heated swimming pool allowed us to swim while the snow was falling. I got a fantastic massage in the Spa. The bar offered ample opportunity to sit and enjoy a drink. The staff is professional and engaged. This was the perfect getaway and we were lucky that we were guests here.||||Highly recommended!

The hotel is outdated, at least the ground floor. Carpets worn down. Gives impression of no maintenance or updating for decades. Looking at the pricelevel, those rooms are overpriced.|The breakfasts we splendid, one dinner below standard, one dinner excellent.|A disappointment as this seems not necessary and is different from our long time back experience.

We loved the grandiose service of Mr. Schneider and his Team. We had a wonderful weekend. The Breakfast buffet is out of this world and we received the most personal and heartwarming hospitality. Our one-year-old son had the time of his life in the pool, the room and nature outside. Everything was perfectly organized for him and us. We will surely come again and can recommend this hotel to anyone, that loves good food and relaxing in luxury.

First of all I would not say that Hotel is 4 stars but rather 3 stars. Rooms were okey just that spider webs and some stuff were not actually really prepared for guests to feel comfortable. The place had a good view from hotel and walk there was beautiful all nature , green! The nights at hotel was not as we expected. The bearded waiter that served us was top person and really precise and friendly . First 2 days were really good. Last night of our stay was disaster , our waiter was not there to serve us the waitresses were like they never did this job before. We had to wait for our drinks like 30min. and had to order again because they forget the order. It seemed as new guests comes they forget about you totally. Only thing I can say is I can't give 5 stars because stay was not so comfo. but personeel was really friendly. I think this will be our last time we visit this Hotel!

The name says it all, the hotel lies in the beatifull region of Germany, Sauerland.||Nearbij is "the hoher Knochen" mountainside ready for skyiing..||A great number of walking trails await you also.||Nearby is Winterberg, the "capital" of Sauerland with a great many cafe's , restaurants etc.||the hotel lies very quiet and peaceful aganst a mountainside and walking begins right at the doorstep.. Rooms are large, with balcony, divided in a sleeping and a relax area and large balcony.||The whole place oozes tranquillity..||Great swimming pool with infinity pool outside!||Booking is only possible with dinner, that is no punishment because they offer a very good menu.||Breakfast is one of the best we ever had!! All in all, a super place to relax!!

This hotel is listed and priced as a four-star superior hotel, but it is a solid three star hotel. The interiors are partly opulent, while outdated, and partly rustic-sparse. The lower terraces and gardens need design and consistent attention. Having just stayed at another rural four-star hotel with lower prices, the differences are significant: this place, while beautifully located in the rolling hills of Sauerland, needs to lower its prices. Special tip: best rooms are the 30s at ground level. Breakfast is excellent.
