Hotel Walther Pontresina

Amazing, magic and simply beautiful. Staff are the most helpful ,Kind and accommodating I've ever experienced. Food is second to none. Location is great and the building and rooms are charming. Did I mention how great the staff are!! I would stay here with my family again no questions asked and I can't recommend it enough. Many thanks to everyone at Walther Hotel

We loved our 4 night stay here, especially the very personal approach by the family-owned proprietors and attentive staff. Amazing location for access to the entire valley, hiking, gondolas, restaurants, towns, and right in the special town of Pontresina. We ate dinners at each of the restaurants, and each was unique with excellent meals and atmospheres. Breakfasts (included) were wonderful in an old-Europe dining room. Views were magnificent, our room was large, lots of storage, and a great balcony/view. Strong recommendation.

My husband and I loved our first visit to the Walther so much , we purposely built the end of this years Italy/ Switzerland vacation around a return to the grand hotel. We were certainly not disappointed. From the moment we entered the lobby, we were warmly greeted by staff and Frau Walther herself. Our room was lovely; with a comfortable bed and sitting area, lovely bath, and a great view. Breakfast in the stunning main dining room continues to be a highlight. We enjoyed the evening live piano music as well (though the tunes were not as lively as experienced in 2018). Front desk staff helped us secure fantastic seats on the Bernina Express. The Walther is grand but it conveys a feeling of "home". We look forward to visiting again.

What a memorable return to one of our most favorite hotels of the hundreds we've visited. You experience hospitality at its finest at the Walther. Frau Walther personally welcomed us upon arrival. The entire staff couldn't have been more friendly. Our room was lovely with more amenities I've ever experienced such as a foot mask and lovely hand cream. Breakfast was delicious , the spa was great after a long day of sightseeing, and don't miss the afternoon tea and cake in the main lounge where you can relax while listening to favorite piano tunes played live. Staff goes all out to make sure your stay is comfortable. We purposely designed our Italy/Swiss trip around a return stay and are so glad we did. Pontresina is charming. Every Swiss trip should include a visit this charming village and a stay at the Hotel Walther.

We stayed here during the first week of September and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and genuine. We enjoyed every second of our stay.||||Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, with thoughtful touches that reflected the hotel’s attention to detail.||||The wellness area is great, featuring a pool, sauna, and relaxation areas that create the perfect atmosphere after a day of hiking in the Engadin mountains. ||||Breakfast was excellent! Dining at the hotel in the evening was also perfect, with refined dishes and attentive service.||||The hotel is full of charm, blending historic character with modern comfort, and the location in Pontresina is ideal. ||||If there’s one small area for improvement, it would be the gym, which feels a little limited in equipment for those who want a full workout. ||||Otherwise, the overall experience was excellent. We will be going back, no doubt. It is a wonderful place!

Hotel Walther is one of my favorites. Such a beautiful and stylish hotel. Quiet rooms, good beds, nice bathrooms. Breakfast is excellent and the staff amazing. Looking forward to my next stay, hopefully soon.

A Magical Stay – Exceptional in Every Way||We stayed at Hotel Walther last night and it was, quite simply, exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly looked after – we were collected from the train station and personally greeted at the hotel by the owner, which set the tone for a stay that went far beyond our expectations.||The service throughout was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful. We were generously upgraded to a beautiful room with a view overlooking the mountains – a breathtaking sight to wake up to.||The hotel itself is like something out of a fairy tale, full of charm and elegance. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a wide and delicious variety of options. We also enjoyed a massage during our stay – the therapist was outstanding, one of the best we’ve experienced anywhere.||The spa facilities were fantastic, with a range of hot and cold sauna experiences that left us feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated.||Every detail was perfect. Hotel Walther is a rare gem – luxurious, welcoming, and unforgettable. We’ll definitely be returning.
