The hotel is 1 minute from bus and train station ideal for early departures. Staff super helpful and friendly. Free locker storage for early morning arrival. Rooms clean and comfortable. Kettle and microwave but no fridge. Just needs a make over. In our room window would not shut but staff happy to give us a fan heater. Shared kitchen and laundry available. Overall a good value stay.

As advertised、all confort、easy check in and out.Could use the lockers for free to store my bags as I arrived before the check in time. Overall clean、the towel had a few stains、and the soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty for the 3 nights I was there. Good location、safe stay、good value.

Stayed in Room 507 for 1 night and it was great, eventhough the room door keeps opening after being tightly closed. Had to block it with the room table. I had the room to myself, enjoying my sleep and the cool night breeze. It is a 4 beds mixed dormitory with an ensuite and 2 mini wardrobes. Ideal for any solo traveler or group. The front desk personnel (2pm-13/12/25) seems to have formed an opion against me, putting me to wait for more than an hour when it was empty, claiming to be busy on the computer. Saw 2 individuals and 2 other groups, who just came in and got served for the same service that I requested. I'm always eager and grateful to learn. A person's work ethic or calibre reflects more on themselve, and nothing to do with the one being served (customer).

Stayed in Room 326 on the third floor. Thanks to Trip.com for their reliable app and affordable prices. Reliable location opposite the main transportation centre, land and sea across the Cook Straight to South Island. This is a 6 beds (3 bunks) mixed dormitory room with an ensuite. Amenities such as the huge dining area, kitchen, and TV room are commendable Great room for a group and ideal for any type of traveller.

Room 326 on level 3 of this accommodation is perfect for any traveler: business or leisure, solo or in a group. It has beautiful views from it's window. This is a 6 beds (3 bunks) room with an ensuite and a large wardrobe. Each bed has a wall powerpoint and a private light. There are 5 other spare wall powerpoints in the room and 1 in the bathroom. Everything is fine with this room, and I would certainly stay here again if I need to.

I found the atmosphere very calming. Despite its location opposite Wellington railway station! Our room was comfy, shower was clean, and just enough space to open suitcases, etc. Beautiful sturdy building in art deco style.

Stayed in Room 326 on the third floor. It is a 6 beds mixed dormitory with an ensuite, a table, chair, and a large wardrobe. The hotel has a big dining room, a tv room, and a good size kitchen with storage spaces for food and luggage. Ideal for any type of traveller and is right beside the main transportation hub.

The rooms are okay. The mattresses are thin and you can feel the metal bars. There's a strange smell in the common areas but the kitchen is really nice. Could do with some new elevators but this being a back packers it's about what you'd expect . It's an okay place. Very different from when I first stayed there round 2016 or 17 but still okay. The location is probably the thing that makes this place worth staying at

Yelp
It's not nearly as nice as the places outside of big cities we stayed in, but this made sense for a city hotel/hostel. The outside is impressive, but the inside is pretty dingy and run-down. The room contained 2 bunked beds and a desk. There were 3 inner doors off a shared little atrium area with a door from the main hall. The doors went to 2 guest rooms and a shared bathroom with an impressive freestanding bathtub. You need a key to get into the building at night. It's nice there's security, although it didn't seem hard to tailgate in. The "free wifi" only means an hour, but it was per device, so it was sufficient. There's an elevator, although it's ancient. There are lockers for storing bags, and it was maybe $4-6 NZD to store bags for several hours. The place is completely unimpressive, but it gets 3 stars because of the location, which is very convenient: it's right across the street from the Bluebridge Ferry terminal, and right down the street from all of the government buildings. It's maybe a 20-30-minute walk to Te Papa. It's very walkable to places to eat. There was a decent amount of metered street parking around and available.

Yelp
This hotel/hostel is a decent place for people who are travelling by train into Wellington and are looking for low cost accommodations. The main train station. (Wellington terminal) is across the street from this hotel so it is convenient if you are arriving into Wellington by train. The first night I was in the 20 bed dorm for only night and found the room to be very crowded but the bed was comfortable and I slept well (so no complaints). I switched to a single room with a shared bathroom for the last 2 nights and I liked that a lot better. It was small, clean room with a tv and it was quiet and I slept well so I was definitely satisfied with it. The hotel is no frills and I was looking for a place to sleep that I could afford so it fit the bill for me. If you are looking for luxury and something more modern this probably not ideal for you. I liked the retro art deco design although for some might feel it is outdated and worn. Customer service at the front desk was overall pretty good. There are 2 computers in the common area which were free to use and they had internet access (they slow but functional). A bar and small cafe that serves food downstairs and fast food restaurants are very nearby. A good place for those on a budget and want a place by the train station and not interested in frills.
