Hotel Weinhaus Messerschmitt

I stayed at this hotel for a recent conference I attended in Bamberg Germany. When I first looked at the picture, I thought, no way that place is too small! But looks are deceiving! The main picture shows the historic entryway but this hotel is much bigger and recently went through a complete renovation. It is a modern, comfortable, clean, and well-managed hotel that really made my stay in Bamberg extra special. I have to admit that I'm very picky when it comes to hotels and this one had a luxury feel to it but in a simply stated manner. The room was big with a nice view, the bathroom had marble finishes and was clean and up to date. The bed was very comfortable and the location is perfect. It is a fairly easy walk from the train station and just a few blocks from the old town. Bamberg is a very special place with one of the nicest historic districts I've seen in Germany. The staff was incredibly nice as well, answered all of my questions and were helpful. My only suggestion is to have more electricity adapters on site since I forgot mine, although found one easily at Mueller's store close by. They were not very flexible with a later check out but I understand that timing is everything with running a hotel so no worries on that. Overall a really great stay and I would return again!

Excellent stay at this hotel. It is well located just outside of the old city with easy access to the train station. A beautiful historic building. When I checked in for my standard double room, they offered me an apartment around the corner available which was much larger, had more amenities, and was 34 Euros cheaper per night. It was wonderful! Thanks especially to Florin for helping me with everything. He is the best!

I love Bamberg, pure and simple. It's a beautiful town. When I am visiting Bamberg, I like to stay in a NICE hotel. This doesn't mean expensive, but friendly, accommodating, close to the town center, and reasonable priced. Hotel Messerschmidt met and exceeded my expectations. The rooms are small but comfortable. My room (305) had a nice view over a lovely side-street. The bed was great! I slept well every night. Bathrooms are clean and have new appliances, beautifully functional. The desk staff were wonderful, and happy to make recommendations and give you information. They have two modern, quiet, roomy elevators. The hotel is a brief walk from the city center and just a 15-minute walk from the train station. The building is classic old-school German hotel. The greatest thing about this hotel actually is breakfast. It's GOOD. They have a wide selection of breads, meats, cheeses, eggs, juicers, coffee, tea, fruits, yogurt, cereals, with a wonderful friendly staff. It is required that you say "Guten Morgen" to everyone and vice versa. Very German. One of the best breakfasts I've eaten. Definitely do it. Or, if you are more price conscious, there is a small grocery store no more than 200' away in the direction of downtown where you can buy food cheaply and take it up to your room to eat it.|While I loved this hotel and will definitely return, I gave it a 4 out of 5 because the carpet (especially the one in my room) is due for a cleaning, and I am aware in my older years of physical barriers. If you are in a wheelchair, this hotel has several areas where there are 3-5 steps to navigate (from the reception desk to the breakfast hall and from the reception desk to the elevators. There could be a different handicapped entrance that I did not see. Still a fine hotel and well worth the visit.

Amazing location, right in the beautiful town centre of the 'Old Town' of Bamberg. The reception member of staff was lovely, and spoke English. The housekeeping staff are fantastic and friendly too. We were delighted to find a complementary fruit bowl and sparkling water when we arrived. Would definitely recommend.

Positive: Great hotel! Definitely met and exceeded my expectations! Negative: Parking is not available at the hotel, nor convenient. It is only available in a parking garage about a block away.

A beautiful hotel totally lacking in details and maintenance. The room looked nice but we quickly realized there was no safe to use. Then no bathrobe. Then there were issues with the elevator not working. We had to wait in the lobby for them to fix it, or because I injured my knee, my husband would need to run down to get it done. And the staff indicated it was an ongoing problem so why is it not fixed? |The thing that really irritated me was the lack of basic amenities. We saw one tiny bottle of shampoo. No soaps or conditioner or lotion or cotton balls. I finally managed to read the printing on the product was “body gel and hair shampoo.” Eww. I don’t carry shampoo because I’m not that fussy about it. But my hair looked horrible the two days in Bamberg.|The location was great though, especially because we used the buses to go to the Dom area and such.

We were very pleased with our stay here.|Our room was quiet and comfortable and cosy, the shower was fantastic, and we were within walking distance of all the places we wanted to see. We had plenty of room, and as it was cold outside, it was always so good to step back into the warmth.|I would not hesitate to stay here again.

It was a lovely hotell with very charming rooms as well as dining areas and reception. The staff was very nice and helpful especially the sweet lady working in the dining hall during breakfast. She made me and my family feel very special and welcome. If she asks you if you'd like some coco, I deeply recomend taking it. It was lovely. The breakfast overall was great and if you're staying here, I really recomend adding breakfast to enlighten your stay. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to returning :)
