Tucked away behind its eccentric, borderline whimsical decor, this charming hotel surprised us with what turned out to be the most comfortable bed we’ve experienced in the past two weeks on the road. And we don’t say that lightly. Plush, supportive, and inviting, the bed alone is reason enough to make a return visit.
While some reviews were lukewarm on the breakfast experience, we found it to be absolutely lovely. The moment we stepped into the breakfast lounge, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly waitress who thoughtfully walked us through the coffee and hot chocolate machine. She also took our order for a plate of perfectly soft scrambled eggs—fluffy, flavorful, and satisfying. The coffee was strong and well-brewed, and although the breakfast leaned into German-style offerings, the variety was plentiful despite the modest portion sizes.
Cleanliness was the deciding factor when booking, and this hotel delivered in spades. From the crisp linens and fluffy towels to a bathroom that sparkled like it had been scrubbed by Cinderella herself, everything felt impeccably cared for—something we appreciated deeply after a whirlwind of travel.
And then there’s the elevator—affectionately dubbed the “rocket ship” by our kids. Compact but functional, it spared us from hauling luggage (and tired little legs) up to the third floor. A tiny touch that made a big difference.
Of course, no stay is complete without a dash of the unexpected. In this case, a life-size statue of E.T. perched casually on the lanai. Quirky? Definitely. But somehow, it only added to the charm.
In the end, this hotel offered far more than a place to sleep—it delivered comfort, hospitality, and cleanliness with a side of character. And truly, we couldn’t have asked for more.
