Hotel X Toronto

"We're not familiar with the name—what is Hotel X?From the Library Collection brand—the team behind NYC’s Library Hotel and the ARIA Hotels in Budapest and Prague—Hotel X took Toronto’s hospitality offerings to another level when it opened in 2018. Crafted as an urban oasis, the property is set in the Exhibition Place complex along the Downtown waterfront; it's a short drive from the Entertainment and Financial districts and the Harbour, and so close to Billy Bishop airport you could walk to the pedestrian ferry that leads to the terminal—that is, if the hotel didn’t already offer complimentary transport there (and to Union Station). Natural light off the water floods into the warm, modern lobby, illuminating the living wall behind the reception desk and the large-format photography spread throughout the main floor. So who are the early adopters of this newbie? With its spacious rooms and wealth of on-site activities, the hotel has already proven popular with visiting families and staycationers alike; its excellent fitness facilities draw wellness buffs. If you're flying into or out of Billy Bishop, no hotel is more convenient. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The 404 pet-friendly rooms and suites have lake views, Nespresso Zenius Pro machines, 55-inch TVs, Bluetooth alarm radios, mini-fridges, and nine-foot-tall windows. Mattress are high-end Concierge Suite Elite Pillow Tops, and bathrooms have fluffy robes and L’Occitane products. Some suites are duplexes and, in keeping with the hotel's family-friendliness, some can be configured in different ways via a cool Create Your Own Suite program. Wifi yea or nay?The wifi is free. What should we be eating here?Seven on-site dining and drinking options can satisfy pretty much any craving at any time. Although some spots haven't opened yet, you'll do just fine with Maxx's Kitchen, a casual all-day restaurant with lake views, and Falcon SkyBar, a three-level rooftop complex with multiple distinct spaces. There’s also a solid room service menu. You mentioned a wealth of on-site activities... Can you give us the rundown? There are almost too many amenities to count: a 55-foot indoor/outdoor rooftop pool; an enormous fitness complex with Technogym equipment, a spin studio, nine squash courts, four tennis courts, and group fitness classes; a 250-seat movie theater; an art gallery, and more. So who is this best for? This is a gleaming, modern pick for those looking for an urban resort—10 minutes from Downtown."

I stayed at this hotel over the New Year’s holiday, and while the prices were higher than usual (which is expected during that time of year), the overall experience was more than worth it. From the moment we checked in, everything was smooth and welcoming. The staff were professional, friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay special. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained. The gym was spacious, clean, and equipped with a good variety of cardio machines and free weights perfect for keeping up with workouts while traveling. The spa was one of the highlights of our stay peaceful, relaxing, and luxurious. I booked a massage and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had. The facilities, including the sauna and steam room, were spotless and created a perfect space to unwind. We also had a chance to enjoy the restaurant, and the food was fantastic. The menu had a great mix of options, and everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. The service was prompt and courteous every single time, whether it was at the restaurant, room service, or housekeeping. Our room was spacious, modern, and very clean, with comfortable bedding and a beautiful view. Even small touches, like the quality of toiletries and how neatly everything was arranged, made a difference. Overall, it was a truly memorable stay and a perfect way to ring in the new year. If you’re considering booking here—especially for a special occasion I highly recommend it. Yes, it’s a bit of a splurge during peak times, but you really do get what you pay for.

This hotel was a solid choice! ✅ The location is amazing—right in the middle of downtown. If the weather’s good, you can walk pretty much anywhere. Super convenient! 🙌 The front desk staff and everyone I met were really friendly and helpful. What I loved most was how fast the elevators were. There are a bunch of them, so I never had to wait more than 30 seconds—way better than most big hotels where you can wait forever. 🛋️ The common areas are clean and nicely decorated. Everything felt tidy and welcoming. 🏙️ My room had a great view of the CN Tower and downtown Toronto. The room and bathroom had everything I needed—towels, toiletries, coffee, the works. No complaints at all. 👍 I’d totally recommend this place, and I’ll definitely consider staying here again next time I’m in Toronto.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel X Toronto! From the moment we arrived, the service exceeded our expectations. Dana at the front desk was warm, professional, and very helpful in explaining all the hotel’s amenities and services, a great first impression! The concierge team, especially Daniel and his colleagues, were absolutely fantastic. They went out of their way to assist us with recommendations, helped adjust our CN Tower reservation, and even welcomed us with a complimentary ride in the Tesla Model X to the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, such a memorable touch! Our One Bedroom Suite was amazing, with stunning views and beautifully designed, high-quality furnishings. The breakfast was delicious, and we really enjoyed the pool area. Overall, the customer service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. Hotel X truly delivers a luxury experience highly recommended! Note: I am a Hyatt Globalist.

We went for my partner’s birthday weekend and Hotel X did not disappoint. The hotel itself is gorgeous and located in a great area. The staff is fantastic and extremely polished in their customer service. Not a single staff member I interacted with hesitated to go above and beyond for us. They truly made it a weekend to remember. We especially enjoyed Cindy at the front desk.||Be sure to check out the bar on the top floor. The drinks and view are fabulous.

Spent a night here because it was the closest hotel to the Budweiser Stage and it was incredible!! Room was spotless with a beautiful view of the lake and the there was even a bridge near the parking lot leading straight to the venue which the hotel staff let me know about after learning I was there for the show. The pool on the roof was amazing as well and the whole place was very luxurious!

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The location is fantastic—close to many attractions and convenient for getting around. The highlight of my stay was definitely the rooftop pool. The sunset views from there were absolutely breathtaking! It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay in a prime location with amazing amenities. Will definitely return in the future!

Google
After 4 different hotels that I had tried before, Hotel X is absolutely my most favourite one by far. 1. Excellent services - prompt responses, professional, friendly staff, very helpful even for tiny asks. 2. Unbeatable amenities!! a. Private movie time we scheduled for 2 hours with popcorns and water prepared b.Amazing swim pool connected with rooftop bar. c. Checked all the sports facilities: tennis, yoga, fitness so clean and spacious too-notch d. They have library lounge as well. 3. Amazing views - got upgraded to premium corner suite by Globalist membership. Highly recommend it if you a big fan of Toronto 🌅sunset, sunrise 🌇 views. So much unique memories from our stay. If i had to be picky is that it may not be extremely easy for a walk to city center. However, Hotel X offers house drive to any 5km distance for hotel guests which we took twice during our stay. We’re surely coming back and so grateful for our experiences during our stay.

Google
Fantastic hotel! Upon arrival we were offered a bottle of water and help with our bags, all with smiles and a warm welcome. The desk attendants were friendly and professional. Our room was clean, bring and classy. This place is quite charming, honestly. There were multiple places to get food and drinks right within the hotel. I would choose this hotel again for another Toronto date night.

Yelp
This hotel is a bit on the pricey side but it's well placed, clean and very inviting The staff were friendly, they have massive conference halls and a trendy style. They have multiple restaurants and a pool on one of the higher floors. The rooms, are huge, clean, comfortable and have great views and sunlight. We were only in for a few short days for a wedding close by.

Yelp
OMG, this hotel experience far exceeded my expectations. My family of 4 stayed at the Hotel X Toronto by Library Hotel Collection for 4 nights in June 2024. Every element of the experience - front desk staff, concierge services, quality of the room & view, amenities, housekeeping, shuttle service, pool reservations, etc. was spectacular. This hotel experience restored my faith in the service industry, and I would absolutely recommend people to give this hotel a try if you're staying in Toronto. Highlights: - Front desk staff goes above and beyond. Francisco, in particular, became my best friend, and it was such a joy to speak with him whenever we had a question or request. He never seemed annoyed even though we had a lot of questions initially. - The quality of the room was the best one could expect. And the views of downtown are breathtaking. - The shuttle service was a game changer. The hotel provides shuttle service to anywhere with 5 km (you have to reserve the shuttle ahead of time), and since the hotel isn't smack in the middle of downtown, it really helped us get a head start on the day and bypass either a 30 minute walk or an Uber to get into town. I could go on and on, but try it for yourself. I can't stop sharing about this hotel.

Yelp
This review is strictly for their banquel hall experience. Went to a company event that was held here. Their service team from front desk reception and everyone whom i encountered was EXCELLENT! The space is really nice I can feel the luxury from right when entering and the service A+++. Very nice and modern. Would book a night here to stay in the future. A+++

Yelp
*This review is strictly a wedding review* I've been to 4 weddings this summer, and this venue was the best out of all of them. It's located near the harbourfront right next to Ontario Place and the ceremony took place on the 4th floor right on the rooftop terrace overlooking Lake Ontario. Cockatil hour was by far the best at this place. The servers kept coming out with full platters of food and the bartenders were super friendly. The drinks were also nicely mixed. Heirloom beet salad: I gotta be honest. While it looked really pretty from a presentation standpoint, this salad just didn't have enough dressing. I did my best to mix everything together to get a harmonious bite but the greens were still dry on the end of every bite. Truffle gnudi: Really tasty but super rich and salty (almost too rich!) LOL. I tried to help my gf polish off hers but the richness piles on quick. Had to take a break in between bites to just let the flavours marinate in my mouth. Beef tenderloin: The beef was perfectly cooked medium rare. The meat cut super smooth just like butter and gravy was a nice touch. Yuzu meringue pie: Great dessert. Sharp citrus of the yuzu balanced out by the sweetness of the meringue and tart shell. Really pretty presentation. The reception bar was twice as impressive as the outdoor bar during cocktail hour and the bartenders were hilarious but also mega talented. My ONE gripe with the whole event would be the ventilation in the reception/dining area which was in the crystal room on the hotel's first floor. While it was certainly beautiful, there was no air conditioning or ventilation whatsoever (I'm not sure if it was just not working that day or if they just don't blow air into that room). Anyways, my gf and I were sat next to the side door and eventually one of the managers came around to open it so that fresh air could blow through but until that point, all of us were boiling because the sun was shining down fully through the transparent glass exterior of the room and it was a 33-35 C day. As soon as the side door was opened, all the guests started applauding loudly lol. Oh yea, and they need to invest in better speakers for weddings as well. The speakers that they provided just kept crackling and crackling with static every 5 words LOL. But this is easily remedied. All in all, this venue is spectacular for weddings.

Yelp
Horrible service. Staff was very good at ignoring. They advertise multiple bars and restaurants within the hotel, most of which were closed or you needed a reservation.... EVEN to get a drink at the bar when and if they acknowledged you. Room service for 4 beers took over an hour. The elevators were a forever long wait the entire day and the stairs were marked private for employees only. Our room was $500 but we still had to pay $35 to park our car, in which they never gave us a ticket to exit in the morning. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great amenities and excellent customer service. Boutique hotel vibe but kid friendly!! My little one can't stop talking about their rooftop pool. If you are into art and design, you will love the interior design and finish detail of the public spaces and rooms.

Yelp
I stayed here while in Toronto for a business trip. The hotel was beautifully decorated and had spacious conference rooms. The staff was very helpful in setting up the various rooms for our meetings and took care of all the technical connections. The rooms were small and cozy. From my room, I had a gorgeous view of downtown Toronto, with Lake Ontario in the distance. They have a rooftop bar and lounge, where we went to unwind at the end of our busy day. Full bar, great music, and room for dancing.

Yelp
WOW. Love this 5 star hotel. It has so much to offer. There is a roof top heated pool, spa (extra charge), swimming pool, tennis court, a gym and much more. I was staying in their junior one bedroom suite. It was a corner suite and it had a spectacular view (you can see the CN Tower and the Water/ Ontario Place). I loved it. The suite has its own master bathroom (shower and tub) along with a separate half bathroom, a working office area and a living room. The room cleaning here was top notch. Everything looked very nice and clean. Internet was working great. Staff were helpful. They restocked everything during room cleaning. The hotel has two restaurants. I went to Roses and I found the food meh. I will need to try the other restaurant another time. The hotel is out of nowhere or not centrally located in downtown. However, it is very close to the highway making travelling onto/getting to the highway a lot faster or easier. Note that this hotel only has one entrance. The side entrance doors are locked. My favorite is that this hotel doesn't give their guests cheap shampoo, lotion or soap. They provide l'occitane branded soap, shampoo and conditioner. Thumbs up to this hotel. My stay was very enjoyable and pleasant.

Yelp
The administration at this hotel is horrible. Very bad response to negative experiences. Not client focus. I do not recommend. Security is an issue.

Yelp
This is a great hotel. Luxurious with beautiful views of Toronto and Lake Ontario. The staff is amazing - Jarret at the rooftop bar, Quincy serving poolside and Caitlyn at Valerie were fantastic. The rooftop pool is gorgeous and the staff will extend your slot if they can..and the water is warm. Highly recommend for comfort and proximity to Budweiser Stage! Especially Quincy!

Yelp
Great modern hotel. Lots of great amenities. Booked this hotel after our holidays in Iceland. A quick stopover in Toronto before heading home. I wanted to view the city and be near downtown. It was pricey but worth it for view & rooftop pool. We stayed for 3 nights. Only really used the rooftop pool, which was amazing had it to myself several times. I wish I had running shoes to use the gym. Our room was clean, spacious bathroom, had a desk, seating area, king size bed was comfy and amazing views. Our reservation included free self underground parking. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Other notables: had a art gallery, a library and rooftop bar and restaurant, also had an arcade while we were there, which my husband enjoyed. It was my husband's 50th birthday, was a nice treat in our room. I liked the location, near highway near downtown, 20 minutes to airport. Overall, great hotel.

Yelp
First I would like to say as a hotel this place is first class and hit the marks for attention to detail. I booked a massage for my fiancé at the spa and she absolutely loved it! Now to the negative. The restaurants and rooftop bar. Having spent over 600 US dollars to stay 1 night it's really disappointing to be told that every restaurant was fully booked. This happened at both restaurants and the bar after the concert. We could clearly see there was plenty of empty tables and room for us. It made for an extremely awkward time just trying to enjoy the hotels establishments. We had to pull the we are staying here card in order to get into these restaurants or we would have been turned away! Word of advice. Book half the tables and leave the other half for walk ins and waiting list. I'm sure waiting for a table when you have a room is not a big deal to most. Being turned away is absolutely unacceptable. I understand Toronto is a big city and like to appeal to the rich but I can honestly say I have never been turned away from some of the nicest restaurants in manhattan. Just saying.

Yelp
Two friends recently got married here and it's also where we stayed for their wedding weekend. While the location is a little far from the hustle and bustle of the city, the rooms have some great views, the service was stellar, and overall, it provided a pleasant escape! We arrived at 11:00 am the day of check-in and were SO thankful they let us in our room early. From the get go, service was on point. Throughout the entire check-in process, there was always someone by our side, and the bellhop graciously walked us through all of our room amenities, like the Nespresso coffeemaker, and had ice sent to our room right away because I was in need. Throughout the weekend, no request was too small. Our room was located on the 15th floor and had an amazing view at sunset. Besides that, the bed was very comfy, bathroom large, and it had all the amenities that we needed. The shower pressure was especially remarkable as was... THE GYM. I wasn't really on vacation to workout, but couldn't resist visiting the gym which was so beautiful! It had all the equipment you could possibly want and it all seemed fairly new. The two indoor tennis courts were BEAUTIFUL. I immediately regretted not bringing my racket. For $20, you could also take part in any of the group fitness classes which included yoga and a HIIT class. We tried room service one night which took awhile, but our burger was tasty. We also went to Maxx's for breakfast one morning which again, took a longggg time, but the food was good. It was our first trip away since having our baby, so we also added on the "Romantic Rendezvous" champagne and chocolate covered strawberry option and they were seriously some of the best chocolate covered strawberries I've ever had. All of this doesn't come cheap, but with the exchange rate, it wasn't too bad. The wedding itself was so pretty! I would definitely encourage anyone looking into getting married in Toronto to consider Hotel X. As a guest, it was so convenient to stay where the wedding was taking place, especially in the middle of winter. All in all, I really can't complain about our stay and would definitely look into staying here again if I'm ever in Toronto.

Yelp
This hotel is the place where you can dream of every possible thing and guess what everything relatable you could get it and they will make it happen. Also not to forget they have one of the best patio/bars with a great view.. when I say great - it's worth more than reading this, I would advise to go and feel it. When they say library collection hotels - they mean it.. you will find books at every nook and not just the look but also you could comfortably sit and read whatever books you would want to. And they got tennis courts and the best and biggest of all the gyms you could think of.

Yelp
I was swept away for a birthday staycation last week, and I found myself at Hotel X. Funnily, only a few blocks from my house. It was mostly eXcellent. I have a three year old, so I spent a lot of time in their indoor/outdoor roof pool. It has stunning sunset views, and is warm enough to handle the outside portion on a cold April night. This being said, it's not a hot pool, and it will really shine in the summer. The rooms are decent, and I highly recommend paying a bit extra for a corner suite. Either floor to ceiling lake views or floor to ceiling city views, can't go wrong. The in-house snacks were delicious. Not a huge menu, but everything we tasted was delicious. Their desserts were especially beloved by my crew. My issues with the hotel are as follows: +I'm visibly pregnant and I was checking in the same time as a bunch of people in suits who got a lot of help, where as I handled my own luggage. No one offered to help me at all. I presume the staff assumed the business people tip better, they'd be wrong +A bit of a tacky, wannabe influencer crowd taking selfies at every turn. I'm all about pictures of beautiful things (srsly I'm the worst, I take pics of everything), but put away your duck face and actually enjoy the views +If you're not in town for a conference nearby it's a bit of a weird area to explore Toronto on foot, as Torontonians actually do

Yelp
Lovely hotel with a gorgeous rooftop! When we arrived, our room had a mediocre view and since it was our first visit to Toronto we were not pleased. I called down to the front desk who were helpful in getting us an upgraded room for an additional charge. Our corner suite was beautiful, the view, the decor, and everything was great. The bed was comfortable, there was a nice size bathroom and shower, and plenty of space for just two of us. The amenities in this hotel are very nice, although the pool was very crowded and it took about an hour or two for me to wait for someone to get up and get a spot in the sun. The 10x fitness club is state of the art with tennis courts, racquet ball, and more! My only issue is how much the tennis costs. We played tennis twice and it was a pretty hefty charge considering we never say anyone else use the courts. As a hotel guest, I think it should be complimentary, or noted on their website better. The rooftop bar is great and has incredible views of both the city and water. The only negative thing for me was that this hotel is far from the downtown area of the city. As a first time visitor, most of the things we wanted to do (a visit to the CN tower, aquarium, distillery district, st Lawrence market, etc.) were a 30 minute walk away. They did have an option to reserve a house car with a chauffeur, which was a great amenity that we took advantage of around dinner time each night... just make sure you reserve the car far in advance as it books up!

Yelp
Booked this hotel for 1 night by phone about 3 weeks prior to my departure from Los Angeles to attend the Toronto Marathon. Requested for a roll in shower with view for my 90 year old mom whom I'll have to leave behind while doing the race. Checked in today and I was given a room with a bathtub. Quite disappointing. Mom has to wait till I get back from the race to help her get in and out of the shower. Why 5 stars? So far, I'm satisfied with the service. Requested for another set of toiletries, delivered right away to our room. Asked if in-room service for breakfast could be delivered at 6:30 instead of 7:30. The guy said yes. Let's see tomorrow morning. The view is phenomenal!. The room is spick and spun. Design and decor are top notched, ultra modern - every detail including window screen with blackout, light fixtures were well-chosen. I have Nespresso back home. Delighted to see it here. For hair and skin, wonderful to see that they're using L' Occitane. Tried the Village Juicery and peanut bar at Cafe X, liked it a lot. This hotel is walking distance to the bib/shirt pick up and starting line for the 10k. There's a park by the water across the street. Will put in more updates tomorrow.

Yelp
I wasn't able to fly into Canada because of Covid restrictions. Called the hotel to explain the situation and they weren't willing to accommodate in any way. First I asked for a refund, they said no. Then I asked for stay credit so I could rebook in a future date when the restrictions have been lifted and they still said no. They took my money and left me high and dry. Very unprofessional.

Yelp
We stayed here for two days for my late birthday trip! Everything about this hotel was amazing from the service to the decor to the rooms, views, and amenities. You would be crazy to not have loved it here! There was only one hiccup and it was when we first checked in, we tried paying with someone else's credit card who wasn't there but it was figured out within 5 minutes when they emailed a form for them to fill out. The concierge- Stephen was so amazing and so helpful. I want to give him 5 stars! I wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was truly amazing. Thank You!!!

Benji M.

Yelp
I don't think this hotel is 5-star quality. I've stayed at better hotels, half the price, with better service and amenities. Didn't feel welcomed. The staff was nothing spectacular. We waited over 1 hour at the pool and restaurant for service and we weren't even acknowledged. I wouldn't stay here again.

Yelp
Hotel X is pure greatness and this will be my hotel of choice whenever I come back to Toronto. I absolutely love this modern style hotel, this place is a true gem. Please go look at the pool pictures, one of the best pools that I've ever come across. I really loved it here and wish I had another day or two during my visit as Toronto is such an amazing city. Come check it out and explore!

Yelp
If you're ever in Toronto and you just need to get away, Hotel X ("hotel ten") is the place to go. Hotel X is located away from the center of the city sporting a modern, fresh scene with a view of the lake and Billie Bishop Airport on one side, and the complete city skyline on the other. The suite is spacious, and the service impeccable. This is really all to make up for one little challenge in being away from the bustling liveliness of the city - it's away from the bustling liveliness of the city. Hotel X makes up for it though - they have a free car service that will pick you up from Union Station and Billie Bishop to check you in. Thereafter, the car service will drop you off ANYWHERE within a 5 kilometer radius; you can Uber back to the hotel at the end of the day. There's something to be said about being driven around to your destination. What better entrance to a party could you get when rollin in on a black BMW X3. Impress the people, tell your friends. Talk with guest services to set up arrangements. The Fitness center is LARGE. Tennis courts, and a full gym are freely accessible for guests. I walked in, and I was immediately disappointed in my own gym in New York. The rooftop pool is heated and perfect for people watching, reading a book, even doing a little plane-spotting. Very instagrammable, but most of all, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Hotel X also has a challenge of having 1 restaurant, a lobby bar, and a rooftop bar. Not much selection, but hopefully as the time goes on, a more diverse selection will come about. When checking out, the car service will drop you off at Union Station, where you can catch the Express to YYZ. While not without its challenges, this hotel will be on my list of places to go the next time I'm in Toronto.

Yelp
I had a wedding reception at the Perch inside Hotel X in Feb. The event was fabulous! The hotel staff is very courteous and attentive to details. Sara Giles Wedding coordinator was a god send!!! So helpful and easy to work with. The view from the Perch was breathtaking! Also the food was delicious :) My guests had an amazing time. I highly recommend anyone to check out this new fabulous hotel and all the beautiful views it offers. Overall 5 Stars !!

Yelp
I am reviewing the restaurant only, I didn't stay at the hotel. The terrace is nice but the food it's nothing special. In fact, it's overpriced and not very tasty. I understand that the strength is the view but The balance price/quality is not quite right. Also, I didn't like the fact that they don't have a cocktail menu, you can order whatever you want but sometimes it's nice to have original options. Also, they don't ask what brand you want for alcohol. I ordered a margarita but I'm pretty sure it was a very cheap tequila because of the taste. For a 5 star hotel you could do much better in the terrace.

Diana B.

Yelp
I would highly recommend staying at Hotel X whenever you are visiting Toronto! The hotel had a lot of great amenities that made for a super enjoyable stay.

Yelp
I had a mixed experience here over the weekend, but in the end I cannot ignore what Hotel X is just because of one error (albeit a large one and their feeble attempt to make up for it). Hotel X, owned by the banquet hall and entertainment/catering mega conglomerate company ByPeterAndPauls.com, who basically runs the show in everything special and corporate events in the Toronto and GTA. Owner of some of the most opulent and top shelf establishments around, so it follows that X would be nothing short of amazing seeing as it was being built from the ground up. It's meant for weddings and big corporate business, the little person need not apply, you're a second class citizen and it's made pretty apparent - except for maybe paying the Falcon Skybar a visit, that's worth a visit. It's costly to stay but not as much as fellow boutiques in the city, has a great (read: the best) views of any hotel in Toronto. Our group made dinner reservations at Falcon 4-5 weeks in advance and upon our arrival day (a day which had motivated 4 of our group to book over night here) we were told that they had lost/had no record of our dinner reso for 9 people, and were basically unwilling to do anything about it since they were now booked with big groups. This isn't out problem but they made it - their consolation offering was to allow us to bypass the line up if we came in for drinks late at night. Despite all this with our group mostly staying here we did meet up before the failed dinner for drinks at Falcon and it really is an exception patio up there with picturesque panoramic views of the skyline and waterfront - truly exceptional. The cocktails were listed as pricey but when we got hte bill the prices were 1/4 of what was posted - awesome. Suffice it to say we were happy before we left for dinner out of the hotel. Post dinner we did return on the basis of the line bypass promise - which we learned was unnecessary, it was busy but we basically walked in, so the apology perk was pointless. I'd like to score them lower but aside from the way they handled the mess up the drinks were well done, the views and facility were tops, and it gave us an excuse to get the guys together.

Yelp
Review time kids! Well, here I am trying to think of a way to describe why a place with the hotel moniker deserves a 5 star review. I'll give it my best! Let's start with the facility. Every, and I mean every finish is just about perfect. I have a 25 plus year building trade background, and the level of attention to detail here is astonishing! On to the service. Where do I start? From the valets that make sure you are about to experience something special to the front desk who make it a point to remember your preference to be called by your first name. The staff here unequivocally make your time here special!

Yelp
I loved this hotel. It was a beautiful hotel. When I was doing research, I was worried that it was too far away from all the attractions, but it wasn't. In a way, where it was located made it even easier to get to everything because you are not in the middle of all the areas that are plagued by heavy traffic. Everyone was helpful and got an A++ in customer service. They must have an extensive training program because everyone was flawless in how they treated the guests. Our room was beautiful and had the best view of the lake and skyline. I never slept so well away from home, and I had to turn on my alarm to get up. The bathroom was like a spa retreat. I took a shower and then soaked in the bath with bath salts they provide. The only thing was there was no fan or my son and I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. When we checked out, we still were going to explore the city. They held our luggage for us. When we returned, they took us to the airport. I will be staying at Hotel X any time I visit Toronto.

Yelp
The Hotel X has a policy that on the surface seems a good idea, but the execution of it, and my experience with it was... upsetting. TLDR: Hotel sends security to check on you if you don't have your room serviced within 48 hours of arrival. There's no warning in advance that security will be sent to your room, and it led to a strange man opening my hotel room door while I was in the shower. I'm a single woman, I travel a lot for work, and when I'm traveling for work I keep the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. If I need anything, I can call down to service. When you put up the sign, housekeeping leaves a card under your door saying they will check with you again in 48 hours. The implication is that they will check with you to see if you need any towels, nothing more. So I get back to my room after a long day of work and decide to take a shower. When I get out of the shower there is a very loud knock on my door, and I reply "uhhh, this is not a good time!" to which I hear a male voice respond, FROM MY OPEN DOOR "I'm doing a wellness check because you have not had service in 48 hours". To which I respond "Uhhh, because I was working....". At this point I'm very upset, and grateful that I threw the top bolt on the door so that this strange man could not completely enter my room. And now that it's clear that I am fine, the wellness check should be considered complete. This person should have apologized and gone away. Instead he says he'll "Wait Outside". For what, exactly?? I call down to the front desk to complain, and he starts knocking on my door again! Very loudly, it is not a friendly knock. I have to hang up the phone and OPEN THE DOOR TO THIS PERSON to get him to go away. He does not apologize, instead he starts explaining himself. To which I tell him that I'm "fine and am closing the door now". I get back on the phone with the front desk who puts me on hold, and this guy picks up the phone to start to explain himself again. I finally ask to speak with his manager. I get a call back from his manager, who apologizes profusely. It is their policy to check on any guest who has not had service in 48 hours due to past "incidents". I tell her that while this policy seems good on the surface, it has clearly not been thought through if something like this (ie a strange man walking into a woman's room while she is taking a shower) can happen. She agrees, and takes down my suggestions. She was very apologetic, and they bought me dinner. I appreciate them trying to make it right, but I think it's important for guests to know about this policy until the hotel changes it to better serve their customers.

Yelp
My friends had their wedding ceremony on the 28th floor with one of the best views to downtown of Toronto. It's a brand new hotel with very modern atmosphere and friendly stuff!

Yelp
I am in love with this hotel and am so glad my friend and I found it for our stay in Toronto. Bonus points for being right by the CNE which we hadn't heard of, being from the States, but enjoyed regardless! Probably due to the fair, we could not access the self-park garage and had to choose valet but they only made us pay the self-park garage price and we got "in and out" privileges. Upon check in, I was holding a couple of bags (which I had told the bell hops I didn't need to go on the cart, all my own fault) and dropped my umbrella. Before I could even bend over to pick it up, a bell hop appeared to retrieve it for me. Check-in was easy and quick. The view from our room was gorgeous and they even supplied the Saved By the Bell cast photo we had jokingly requested upon making our reservations The beds and pillows were super comfortable and the window had a black out screen to allow you to sleep in. Everyone we spoke with was courteous and helpful. The lobby is truly stunning. The pool opens early at 6am and we were able to check out the sunrise from a high rise view the morning of our departure when we went for a swim. Upon leaving, our bell hop gave us a tip to check out a Niagara On The Lakes on our way to Niagara Falls and we were not disappointed. Excellent hotel and staff.

Yelp
If you're looking for a high-end piece of Heaven on your next visit to Toronto, look no further. The new Hotel X has impressed this jaded traveller, and that's no easy task: I've stayed in many great - and not so great - hotels across North America, and I can honestly say that the X more than delivers: in a world of hotel-steaks, the X is the Filet Mignon. We started with a standard King room, which was beautiful and well-appointed, but then upgraded from the standard room to a corner suite, where we were immediately bedazzled by the panoramic views of the waterfront and Toronto-city proper. Our suite was on the 24th floor, and we felt like kids as we watched the planes take off from Billy Bishop airport. Though it felt as if you could reach out and touch the jet as it lifted off, the windows are incredibly insulated, and no sound comes in. The suite is a multi-room format, with a high-ceilinged living room with glass walls at least 14 ft high, a dining/breakfast nook, 2 bathrooms - a powder-room in the hall, and a master bathroom off the bedroom. The master bathroom has a deep, 2-person tub as it's centerpiece, with a large glass-walled shower and a view of the CN Tower. The bedroom was roomy with an over-sized King bed, and another gorgeous view of the city, especially at night. The bed was one of the best we've slept in (at least, for us) - firm, but forgiving. The pillows were varied enough that both of us found ones that worked. The drawers are filled with all the amenities a forgetful traveller might need, from toothbrushes & emery boards to mouthwash & loofa sponges. Finally, you have good control of ventilation/AC/heat from 2 locations, so you can control your surroundings. One nit-pick: it would be nice to have a Dyson-style fan in one of the closets, to help with air-movement in the bedroom. This IS a luxury hotel after all, n'est pas? The property itself is a new construction, around 30 stories tall, right across the street from the Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail, a long-winding walking path/bike path along the waterfront. The hotel is up a little hill, which helps even the lowest floors to have fantastic views. The lobby is cavernous, with a day-bar, gorgeous and very unique furniture and art and a staircase to the 2nd floor amenities. The front desk is easily seen and accessed, and check-in is beyond warm and welcoming. A little more on the staff later... While the Hotel is still in the process of constructing additional facilities such as a full spa (this made my wife happy), and a 2nd gourmet resto featuring Mediterranean cuisine, farm-fresh and sourced locally, there are great options in the hotel already, such as the rooftop bar, full cinema, tennis courts...and FOOD! In-Room Dining: We checked in at midnight after a long day of travel, and you can imagine how happy we were to find out that they had 24 hour room service. The gourmet burger went down very well at 2:30 AM... Maxx's Diner - unlike the name suggests, this is a high-end dining experience, with an open-kitchen concept. Our meals were sumptuous...I had the Cornish Game Hen (cooked THEIR way) and my wife had the beef tenderloin, which was perfection. We loved interacting with the Chef and watching him run the crew in the kitchen. He also sent us a special dessert, with his regards. VIP Rooms: you can get a VIP upgrade, which gives you access to the VIP lounge for relaxing with a book in front of a fireplace, or enjoying their daily wine & cheese, and starting your day with their breakfast buffet. Falcon Skybar: On the 27th floor, panoramic views, outdoor contour balcony, indoor fireplace and a great group of waitstaff. A large choice of creative signature cocktails and fresh-made bar-eats are available. The staff at the X are all young, enthused and welcoming. We had particularly special interactions with Felipe, the Guest Services Manager, who made sure our stay was memorable, and attended to our every need & request. SHOUT OUT to George, our bartender at the Falcon Skybar, who made sure we had full drinks, entertained us with his mad mixology-styles and made sure we had Habs hockey on the screen. Felipe & the rest of the X team provided a level of service that was professional, but very personal, honest and endearing. The staff are all genuinely nice people, and they always seem to have time to interact with a guest. Definitely looking forward to our next escape!

Yelp
What an awesome stay! The view of city and bay was beautiful. Staff is 100% dedicated to guests. Bar on the roof with great tasting menu. Roof top pool is very relaxing with drinks and food. Walking distance to Budweiser stage, soccer stadium and beer festival, and anything going on at the Enercare Center. Courtesy car to take you downtown. Very relaxing stay.

Yelp
Blown away by this property! I'm honestly surprised it's categorized as a 4 star as I received 5 star service all across the board. From turn down service to housekeeping removing the salt off of the bottom of my suitcase/wheels that I picked up on the tarmac after landing.. extremely impressed and can't wait to return!

Yelp
A hotel's core business is selling sleep This hotel was designed for a photo spread, not for a guest It's made for robots Construction noise within the hotel in the early morning means they place their convenience above your sleep ( which is what you bought). This morning at 8:30 sharp ( which means the crew supervisor is looking at their watch ) rock drill and hammering commenced. You may be give a key in an envelope- unseal & remove that before entering elevator ( theme; dark on dark) and don't be polite- push past others to the key sensor or you may be on a ride- if you miss your floor, you can only enter your floor after returning to the lobby. Add quirky room style which gives us indecipherable light switches and enough sharp edges on the furniture to get a bruise or 2. If you have enough light, push into the bathroom and a conventional light switch will illuminate enough to find and poke at the light switches ( which control on a delay, so you don;t have a result when poking...it's a game) Don't use the conventional rocker light switch by the door- it appears to cancel out any settings you've stumbled on and the game continues. A nightlight would be nice- leaving the bath light on doesn't work as the door is frosted glass. An overall gray colour palette means you will feel no joy. Don't forget your glasses as you try to figure out how to: Turn on the shower without getting scalded or froze, which head the water will come from and how to do this without covering the floor with water * Eco-concious or cheap, don;t forget to unwrap and take the soap from the basin into the shower before you get wet- you get 1 bar in one place The amenities in the shower need to be read with glasses- the darker blue clear is the shampoo, the lighter blue clear is shower gel, the opaque white with blue tint is the conditioner The bathroom and shower flooring material is a coarse stone tile- this is a perfect habitat for virus, bacteria and fungii. Cover the floor with their towels or wear flip flops. The heavy glass door to the bathroom takes inordinate force to move, the handles have some sharp edges- be careful. The bathroom drawer pulls are just above knee level and sharp, careful after you push the door, and momentum carries you through. A less than usual cabinet overhang means you may stub your toes when washing at the sink. Pulling the toilet roll will set up a low frequency hum, the likes of Zug Island- once you know what it is, you'll hear it from the other rooms as well. The attention is paid to the food and bev and the lobby- IF there is a special event in progress, you may find that hyped areas/amenities of the hotel are not available to the guest ( velvet ropes ) as they are reserved for "specials". That rooftop drink and view you though you might have...you ain't. I've contacted travel agent and hope to never see this place again. *how to use HOTEL X shower: The default is to spray water from the hand wand- in my case pointed out the shower door by housekeeping- turn this into the shower- open the valve to a moderate pressure and pull knob ( not easy when wet /slippery) to activate shower head. Pressure must be high to maintain this position or it will continue to come from wand. Hot is counter clockwise

Yelp
Hotel X is arguably the best hotel we've ever stayed at. I mean...the urban resort concept is phenomenal and the customer service at Hotel X was even better! We loved it and our kids were very content with just spending our vacay days taking in the wonderful amenities in the hotel instead of exploring the amazing city of Toronto for the 1st time. This hotel is huge and a real treat for families with kids. We got the family room package where we had a one bedroom suite that connected to a 2 queen room. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are luxurious and very clean. We had an amazing view of Lake Ontario from the 7th floor. This hotel offers tons of cool amenities, but some of our faves include the gym facilities with ping pong tables, basketball courts, teen room with video games, and tennis courts; we also enjoyed a family movie night in the theater to watch the movie Elf with popcorn and bottled water. I haven't fully described everything that makes this hotel so fantastic, but I am a proud hotel snob and I probably won't consider staying at another hotel when we return to Toronto. Hotel X has our hearts!

Yelp
The roof top pool has great views. Seats get taken up fast though. Although all the servers seemed very polite, the service took for ever. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes only to retreat back to a seat outside we finally acquired. We waited for another 20 minutes with nobody even cleaning the table. Maybe they are under staffed or new to the job (I'm not in the industry), but it was pretty awful service.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a friends wedding. Hotel was very nice and modern. The pool area is very tiny in the winter (as majority of it is outdoors). I tried the steam room in the fitness facility but it was extremely loud so it was not relaxing and I left after a few minutes. The room itself was very nice. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. For the price I would probably stay somewhere that was closer to the downtown core. The hotel is not near anything worth sightseeing/visiting other than if you are going to the exhibition or a concert at Budweiser stage. Also breakfast is not included and neither is parking. But we were there for a wedding so it was very convenient.

Yelp
Amazing stay at Hotel X Toronto Best weekend stay at Hotel X Toronto -Room was contemporary and clean! The air condition worked great! (I hate when at other hotels there is no movement in the room and the air shuts off). Bed was extremely comfortable! Bath tub (and bath salts provided) were excellent! -Gorgeous views of the city and water -Room service was quick (within 35 minutes), and delicious. Food delivered hot! -The gym is one of the most incredible features of the hotel! Free gym access with stay. Full size tennis courts, golf simulator, Pilates reformer classes, HIT classes, etc. Similar ascetic to an Equinox if you are familiar with their gym. -Rooftop pool was spectacular. Gorgeous views, warm pool. We were visiting in February so it was very cold outside.

Yelp
Lovely hotel but absolutely empty. They have a great bar upstairs with a south view that again is not advertised anywhere. I wish they advertised more because it's like a ghost town there. Nice place otherwise

Yelp
We came here with a group of 10 during the pandemic. Everyone was thoroughly impressed. I was the host of the "mini-conference" and it felt like a huge win for me (not least because they upgraded me to this massive corner suite in room 1808 with an awesome view of the city). The facilities are lux and beautiful and well maintained. The staff is obviously proud to work at the hotel and are genuinely generous and courteous. The event/conference staff were super attentive. Loved this place and will definitely be back with an even larger group next time (when that's allowed of course).

Yelp
Quite rooms with fabulous views and a spot-on staff earn a lot of points in a hotel review. Even for the money, the hotel over-delivered in ambiance and vibe. A 5th star for me would have required slightly more comfortable beds and a vaguely larger room, though no doubt these elements are already available at their higher price points. It's the spot nevertheless of a chic scene, wonderfully devoid of prevention.

Yelp
Very luxurious accommodations, but this hotel is a bit of a distance from most of the major tourist attractions and popular area, so plan on doing a lot of walking or taking a cab or car share rides - If you are staying here for a conference nearby, then this place is perfect. Amazing lake views from the lakeside rooms, but the traffic noise from Lake Shore Blvd made it a bit hard to sleep. The atmosphere is really modern and open with lots of beautiful hard surfaces and plenty of natural light. The staff here is really awesome, because they went far and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant. Great amenities, including a complimentary car service that will drop you off in town within a certain radius of the hotel and they can also pick you up from Billy Bishop Airport (need to reserve in advance). We would definitely stay here again if we had to, but would probably consider staying somewhere else first. The only reasons stopping me from giving them a 5-star review is: 1 - The noise levels in the bars due to all of the hard surfaces and openness; 2 - The fact that we could not get a place to sit inside any of the upstairs bars without making a reservation, and; 3 - The traffic noise from the Boulevard coming into our room.

Yelp
Went here for a company event. The lower restaurant was dead but the food was really good but overpriced for the location in my opinion. The rooftop bar is what makes the place though. Worth going for a cocktail.

Mardy Jane L.

Yelp
We were in the area, so last minute we decided to check out Hotel X because it's one of our options for a wedding venue. Sonam went above and beyond what was expected of him. There was no one available to show us the event rooms, but instead of telling us to come another day, he ended up giving us a tour himself. From helping us with parking to our tour he was very friendly and knowledgeable. To Sonam, if you ever read this, thank you for your help and hope to see you again. To Sonam's manager, give that man a promotion!

Yelp
We had our Christmas/Holiday Party here at the Hotel X last night and it was outstanding. The hotel ballroom was beautiful and the food excellent. A veal chop perfectly cooked and tender isn't easy when you are serving a group of 170. The rooms are also very nice and spacious with a spectacular view of downtown Toronto. I would highly recommend it for an event or if you are just visiting the city for a vacation.

Yelp
Incredible service, beautiful views, incredible service, impressive fitness area, incredible service, wonderful rooms, incredible service, good food and yes, the service was incredible!

Yelp
Concierge and bell hops are on top of every detail! Staff take pride in taking good care of their guests. Have patience at roof top bar. Drinks were worth the wait!
