Hotel Xcaret Arte

We arrived at Xcaret Arte with no expectations, having heard little about the resort despite our frequent visits to Cancun and Playa del Carmen. But from the moment we stepped out of our transportation, we were enveloped in a world of artistry and passion. The architecture—grand, bold, and breathtaking—felt like a love letter to creativity. Every detail, from the curated room amenities to the delicate chocolates left in little boxes each night, was intentional and deeply moving. Art wasn’t just displayed; it was woven into every space, evoking a sense of wonder and emotion at every turn. And the food—where do I even begin? Each meal was an experience, a carefully crafted journey through flavors and textures, heightened by thoughtful wine pairings. Even the buffet—the Mercado—was no ordinary spread. It transported us straight into the heart of a vibrant Mexican market, rich with authenticity and soul. Throughout the resort, performances brought Mexico’s history to life in the most captivating ways, immersing visitors in the country’s stories and traditions. It was more than entertainment—it was education wrapped in beauty, a gift to those experiencing Mexico for the first time. Then, there was the spa. I have never been in a more breathtaking space. Nestled within natural caves and overlooking a vast, serene lagoon, it felt like a sacred retreat. The kindness of every staff member made it even more special, but the two incredible women who provided the Desert Sage treatment and massage truly made our day. The two-person spa room was a dream—a sanctuary of peace, beauty, and restoration. Xcaret Arte is more than a resort; it’s an experience, a masterpiece, a place that lingers in your heart long after you leave.

This resort is the most beautiful I have ever been to and I’m saying this after going on a work related trip like this every year for 20 years. There is so much attention to detail including the decor, the room, the food and drinks and most importantly the staff. There are plenty of large gathering spaces but my favorite were the plentiful smaller, peaceful areas like rooftop pools, caves, lagoons and gardens. There is no shortage of activities both at the resort and a short (included) bus ride away at the parks. A special shout out to Jorge Fernandez at the main pool, he went way above and beyond to help keep all of my customers happy with special requests and even a birthday celebration for one of them. I would love to return to this resort on my personal vacation to relax and enjoy everything I didn’t have time to see and do! Gorgeous!

Room service food sucks but if you can’t eat it they’ll make you wait 3 hours to order again. Staff do the bare minimum and aren’t concerned about complaints. Pics attached of steak and “charbroiled romaine” Caesar salad with 3 pieces of cold packaged chicken slices. There is also a little bit of pretending to not know English when we need something. No offer to make anything right. Had to ask to be moved rooms because the door has no soundproofing so people keep waking us up but they can’t do move us until tomorrow. We have to check out of our current room and then wait for 3 hours to use the next room. Wtf? Tried to rope us into a timeshare presentation in a pushy way. Couldn’t find the lounge/free shuttle at the airport when we landed and no one would help us. No signs anywhere. We called the front desk 3 times and no one answered. Ended up paying $200 for a cab. Paid for a swim up room which is just a tiny wading pool with two chairs in it. Overpriced and a waste of time. We have been to some amazing hotels and this just isn’t one of them. Our trip is non refundable (15k) but we are considering going home early anyway.

This is an all-inclusive resort with extremely attentive, friendly staff that cater to your every need. I recommend using the resort app to find your way around. Be prepared to walk as this resort has plenty to explore. This resort will definitely take you a few days to figure out. The layout of the resort could be challenging for some who may not have a good sense of direction. It would have been helpful if the buildings had distinctive markings higher to identify each building. Also, I would have liked to seen more walking identifier signs along the pathways to reassure that you are going in the right direction. There was a lot of confusion with many guest including us trying to familiarize themselves with directions and routes. Food options were wonderful with a taste of local and worldly cuisine.|Overall a fantastic experience and a great place to visit!

We stayed here for 5 days. Absolutely loved it! The staff is incredible, friendly and so accommodating. We loved our stay so much we would definitely come back. The resort had so many different areas, we spent the first two days roaming the property finding cool little spots. The spa… now that needs a completely separate review. Probably the best spa I have ever been to. I live in Arizona, so we are spoiled with stunning spas but this one blew me away! I highly recommend!

Pro: The parks are neat and easily accessible. This was the highlight of the trip. Pro: The breakfast buffet was good. We enjoyed the ceviche most days for lunch. Pro: It’s a $30 cab ride to 5th Avenue if you want to get away from the park. Con: The service was pretty dismal. We paid for unlimited access to everything, a butler, etc. Drinks were offer empty with no server around, getting a drink at the bar was impossible, people were pushy and often rude, etc. We were made to feel like we needed to tip anyone and everyone who helped us at all. We never met our butler until the last day when he hunted us down for a tip. It was some of the worst service in Mexico we’ve ever received. Con: It’s much more expensive than similarly appointed rooms/amenities. I think you’re paying a lot for park acres, so if you’re not interested in that, it’s probably not worth the money. Con: There are 1/3 the logical number of chairs at the pool and even less on the beaches. We needed to get up at 7:30 to stake out a chair or else risk not having one anywhere for the day. It was a ridiculous. Con: The dinners often took hours and the food often tasted microwaved. It wasn’t good. Con: We had a couple of incidents where things were reused or dirty from housekeeping. The nastiest was unrolling a rolled hand towel to find a Tylenol stuck to it. It’s like they took a dirty towel from another room and reused it without washing it. I assume they thought it was clean when it was just rolled up by the guest. Gross! Con: On multiple occasions I ordered a Jack and Coke and received something else in Coke. If I didn’t watch them make the drink, they would swap imported liquor for local well liquor. In summary, we won’t be back. That’s unfortunate because we really did enjoy the parks, but I can’t accept paying so much to be treated slightly better than at a Holiday Inn.

This could easily be a legit 5 star resort. First off the food could not be any worse quality the steak they served looks more like tuna. For a resort in Mexico there is no good Mexican food ! The hibachi was terrible. Having just simple things like chicken tenders, grilled hamburgers, fresh tacos by the pool and actually fresh tortilla chips and salsa would be amazing. Also there is so much room on the beach for more chairs which would be very helpful to guests so they don’t have to wake up at 6 am on vacation. If you want to charge a premium you need to give a PREMIUM. Do no waste your time or money here I am POSITIVE it would better spent ELSEWHERE

We were there in early December 2024. Pros: gorgeous hotel with top notch service by the hotel employees. As soon as you come into the lobby, they greet you w lavender scented towels so you can be refreshed. We had a garden view, which was nice. As the hotel is fun inclusive, it means that you are provided alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages in your mini fridge. Each day, they bring you a small gift. Not really a con, but we had higher expectations when it came to the cuisine. I would say it was a solid 4/5. We ate at a few restaurants and the food was consistent, 4/5. The desserts were also ok. Overall, a fantastic experience. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Lots of things to do. Enjoy your time there. Wake up early to catch the sunrise, go out to the beach to enjoy the sunset. Lots of food options and lots of beautiful memories to create 😍😍💝
