Hotel Xoai

We stayed there while visiting Can Tho. The price value was good despite the budget room was really small, but if you stay only few days it's big enough. The cleanliness and the location was ok. We missed a shop nearby. The staff was friendly. They also offer a rooftop where you can escape the city noise. If we would go back to the city we would stay again there.

First impressions are the ones always remembered. A warm welcome was received as I entered the building.The receptionist was excellent and perhaps her title should be changed to concierge as her efficiency in quickly processing me in good English was completed in short time with a raft of additional information for me to consider The hotel is less than 10 years old,is well maintained and very clean. All other staff members seemed to have the same efficient but very helpful attitude toward their customers. As I was staying only two days I chose the budget room and found it completely adequate for my purposes. Very clean with a comfortable double bed,fan,air conditioner,telephone. No other furniture and no television.But as most programmes are in Vietnamese that is not an issue. This is the first hotel I have stayed at that had hot,hot water in the bathroom.This being supplied from the solar heating system on the roof. The upper level has a kitchen from which a basic complementary breakfast is provided.The breakfast area has ample tables and chairs for all and with potted plants it has a very relaxed environment with views over the city. If I was in Cần Thơ again I would come back to the Hotel Xoai.

I can't fathom why this isn't mentioned in every review: The standard rooms are ridiculously small. The bed touches three walls, and leave just enough room from the final wall to allow the door to open. Once you are in, you have two steps to the bathroom. They reminded me of Japanese cube rooms. I thought the price of 220.000 was good until I saw the room. Then I laughed and walked out. I went to another nearby hotel—there are plenty in town—and paid 300.000 and had a decent-sized room with a table for my laptop, a clothes rack, refrigerator, water kettle and a view. THAT'S a hotel room.

Rooms were small (we knew this before going) and they let us see it before agreeing to take it. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was basic, bread and jam. Location was about 30 minutes walk to the river where all the action is, not much nearby in the way of stores for supplies, but was cheap so can't really complain. A/C was ok but not great.

The place is central in the city, quiet hotel, room for 2 a little small but clean and very practical (air-con, fans, hot shower, plugs, sink and toilets included... Haven't tasted the breakfast but it was included. We arrived 0h30 am and left at 3h30 am, without any problem. I recommend :) PS: motorbike rent is by a third-party, by full day.

Stayed in two different rooms here, the twin room and the budget double room. The twin room was nicer, the budget double room was very very small. Do not suit travelers with big luggage. Very clean and very friendly staff. I liked the location a lot, a bit far too the waterfront but if you walk Nguyễn Việt Hồng road against the park you will pass a few local restaurants and coffee shops so just stop there and take a short break. The rooftop terrace adds to the value. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed there for quite a few days exploring Can Tho City area. The hotel crew is very pleasant, professional and they speak very good English. Hotel rooms are cosy. Complementary breakfast is available in the morning.

I been here with my girlfriend a couple of night, after the first night we asked to change the room cause the room we had was rally stinky. Than we booked a floating market trip and it was totally not worthy, compeared to the high price! Than we asked to some suggestion for restaurants and places to visit but they didn't gave us any! Last but not least... We booked the bus ticket for going back to saigon with them(pick from the hotel included) but the morning, when we were ready to depart at 9am(as we been told to be ready), nobody came to pick us up, we waited till 9:40am Than the lady at the desk called the bus company and told us they had a problem with the shuttle bus for our pick up, Than she called a taxi for us. When we arrived to the bus station we had to pay for the taxi, we complained (cause the pick up was supposed to be included) with the bus company... So a really rude guy working for the bus company(Futa bus) called the hotel and it cames out Than the pick wasn't included and we had to pay for the taxi... So at the hotel they didn't told as the truth! So this hotel is ugly, stinky, the staff is Not helpfull, there is no services and they been totally non honest with the trip and bus booking. Make yourself a favore and stay away from this place!
