Very nice place with a great view on the lake. Pretty close to the Tikal national park. Super nice staff trying to solve every problem and willing to go the extra mile. If you book on the website or through phone you get a better deal than on booking

SAFE PARKING FOR MOTORBIKES 🏍 Stayed and caught the public bus to Tikal NP Rooms were clean and well presented. Hot water was very limited so be ready for a quick shower 🚿 Loved the drinks/meal pully system that crossed the lawn area to the viewing deck. Meals were a really good (local pescado blanco)

Great place to stay in El Remate! Good food, service, location and loved the garden with a view!

We enjoyed the beautiful garden where we watched birds after guided walks in Tikal and another ancient Maya site. We especially appreciated the restaurant on site. I recommend the stuffed squash for dinner and Mayan eggs for breakfast. We watched several species of birds feast on bananas that staff at affixed on wires. Our little cottage was snug, secure and quiet. Staff secured a knowledgeable guide for our trips to the ruins.

We stopped here for lunch en route to Tikal Mayan site. Really enjoyed the food - excellent vegan meal. Beautiful gardens by the lake with a quirky air line delivery contraption that serves diners out there. Pleasant , efficient staff.

We stoped for a meal at the restaurant. The location is beautiful just by the edge of the lake with a huge sacred Ceiba tree planted just in front of the restaurant. The food was delicious (good quality shrimp, a very well balanced margarita), the service was quick and you can pay by card. The prices were really good (we paid slightly over 50 eur for the dinner of 4 people with drinks). But what I enjoyed most was the view to the lake and the sunset which made our dinner absolutely magical. We also saw some fruit bats which were flying around and just as the sun was setting. I would definitely come back.

We ate here both of our nights in El Remate where vegan options are super limited. The food is good enough. We had the veggie burgers and pesto pasta. Staff is sweet and understanding. Melver is cool funny and helpful. We booked our transportation here as well and it was completely smooth.

We stayed for two nights at Casa de Don David and it was a relieve to stay here. Clean rooms with airconditioning and a good shower. WiFi availability was good. The personnel was friendly and helpful with arranging things for us like booking a maya tour and getting us a taxi. They have a good kitchen so we had our breakfast and dinner in the hotel. The hotel has a big garden and a terrace at the lake side. If you order food or a beverage there, it is sent to you by a zip line across the garden. Very amusing. Concerning the Maya Tour: We did a tour in Tikal with our personal guide Loyd. Loyd is a very experienced guide and has studied a lot of Mayan history. He gave us a lot of information about Tikal and was able to answer every question that we had. If you are doing the Tikal maya tour we strongly recommend you ask for Loyd as your guide, it will enrich your experience.
