Hotel Yak & Yeti

Amazing service and hotel. Staff were incredibly nice and friendly. The rooms were spectacular overlooking the garden. Especially loved the heritage suite with a touch of classic Nepali architecture and design. Absolutely loved our stay. And will definitely be back.

Staying at Hotel Yak & Yeti was a wonderful experience from the moment I arrived. The staff greeted us warmly, making us feel instantly welcome. Throughout my stay, they were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with any request, which made the whole experience very comfortable. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. The bed was extremely comfortable, and all the necessary amenities were available, including a working desk, good lighting, and storage for luggage. The bathroom was spotless, smelled fresh, and included all essential toiletries. It felt like a place where every detail had been carefully considered for guest comfort. One of the best things about this hotel is its location at Durbar Marg. It’s in the heart of Kathmandu, so restaurants, cafes, and shops are just steps away. Exploring nearby attractions like Basantapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and the various temples was very convenient, either by short walks or quick drives. The dining options at the hotel are also impressive. The in-house restaurants serve a variety of delicious dishes, and the garden café is perfect for a relaxed coffee or snack. The bar provides a cozy setting to unwind in the evenings. Overall, my stay at Yak & Yeti was memorable, comfortable, and highly enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

This is a fantastic place to stay. The staff are all amazing and it was a most enjoyable experience. A lovely bowl of fruit and two cakes awaited us. We were made to feel very welcome. Excellent breakfast and food generally. We will definitely return here.

I especially want to highlight Ms. Muskan from Guest Relations, who truly made my stay memorable.||She was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive to every detail. Whether it was assisting with inquiries, guiding me with local information, or simply checking in to ensure my comfort, Muskan made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.||The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and very well maintained, but the hospitality from staff like Muskan is what truly sets it apart.||Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area, I will definitely return!

Extremely Disappointing Dining Experience: Pathetic Service and Horrible Breakfast ​My recent stay at the Yak & Yeti was significantly marred by the appalling quality of the restaurant service and the breakfast offerings. Frankly, the dining experience bordered on unacceptable for a hotel of this reputation. ​The service provided by the restaurant staff was, without exaggeration, pathetic and among the worst I have encountered in any professional establishment. Waiters were consistently inattentive, requiring multiple requests for basic items like coffee or cutlery. Simple tasks were met with slow, lethargic responses, giving the distinct impression that staff were uninterested or completely overwhelmed. There was a profound lack of professional supervision, resulting in chaos rather than efficient service. ​The breakfast was equally dismal. The selection was poor, and the food quality was truly horrible. Items appeared stale or undercooked, and hot food was often served lukewarm or cold. The station was poorly maintained, frequently running out of core items that were slow to be replenished. It was clear that neither freshness nor quality control was a priority. ​This level of failure in both basic hospitality and food provision is a critical oversight. I strongly caution future guests to seek dining alternatives, as the restaurant significantly detracts from the overall experience of staying at the Yak & Yeti.

Beautiful hotel if youre looking for a more luxury experience. Nice rooms and hot water, restaurant and spa options, laundry service but very expensive. Great included breakfast. A bit of a walk to get to Thamel and the main shopping area, but still walkable.
