Hotel Zak Schaffhausen

Don't book there! We booked by booking.com and the Reservation was cannceld when we arrived. They asked for triple amount... so we were sleepin in the railway station... prices are made upon request... mind this city.

Had a fantastic stay! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the cozy smoking bar downstairs made for a great place to relax. The hotel's no-smoking policy was well-enforced, ensuring fresh, clean rooms with no trace of smoke. The beds were comfortable, and the room had everything needed for a pleasant stay. Overall, a great experience—would definitely recommend!

The experience at Zak hotel during the Schaffhausen show period was far from satisfactory. The staff member, Cristine, appeared stressed and disorganized, primarily communicating in Spanish. She openly complained about her low salary of 2000 francs per month, and her demeanor suggested she may have been under the influence of alcohol. The city's festive atmosphere due to the ongoing shows may have contributed to this behavior. Room 11, where I stayed, was disappointing. The cleanliness was subpar, with an uncleaned shower and even a cockroach spotted inside. The beds were stacked on top of each other, contrary to the description of normal beds. The red linoleum flooring added to the unpleasant ambiance. Overall, the experience was marred by poor hygiene and unprofessional staff conduct. In conclusion, Zak hotel during the Schaffhausen show period failed to meet basic standards of cleanliness and service. It is not a recommended accommodation choice for those seeking a comfortable and pleasant stay.

This place was one of the cheapest we could find because we were only staying for 7 hours to just sleep. There's a bar underneath and thankfully we stayed on a Sunday, so it wasn't loud, but I can imagine it gets loud. This is not a hotel, it's a hostel. It's fine and very close to the train station. Room had some space and shared bathroom wasn't far. The stairwell is small and tight. There is an elevator though. |The room smelled so much like smoke that my clothes did for days. |If you need just a place to sleep it's fine, but this place isn't the best. |Also, the hours listed don't reflect the hours they're open. Thankfully people were at the bar, but we got in after 10 and nobody was answering the bell as we rang it.

Advantages: location, clean bed, clean towel, clean toilet (although shared). That is all.|There are much more disadvantages. A room with dirty walls, with burnt holes on the linoleum floor. The water in the washbasin (located in the room) smells like sewage. Despite booking a room with a double bed, we received a room with two single beds.|The staff does not speak English. Upon check-in, the receptionist volunteered to help with the recalculation of coins and cheated.|The hotel is connected to a bar, so the smell of cigarette smoke is in the room from morning to evening.|The cost for the services offered is too high.|To summarize, this cannot be called a hotel. The maximum is a hostel for hitchhikers, but the price should be 2-3 times lower. |I would not advise anyone to stay here for more than one night, especially with their family

Definitely attracts a very strange crowd of people. The room seemed kinda dirty and its very noisy from the bar downstairs which wasnt that big of a deal, but I wouldnt recommend it if you really need to sleep. There is no smoking sign but everyone smokes everywhere in the building. |Location is great!

Super easy check in, close to the train station, and good price considering the other hotels. That said, the studio really lacks cleaning since several surfaces contained huge amounts of dust. One of the beds was broken and it's not a nice decoration. It looks like they put whatever they had access to. The kitchen doesn't have all the necessary stuff and many - basic- things are not provided (for example a glove for the oven or mugs).

Just mins from train station n Migros Supermarket where you can find all your necessities. Check in reception is inside the mini bar, feel funny but the ladies there so friendly. The rooms are very clean and comfort but if you book a studio room, it comes with fully equipped kichen n a big fridge. Spacioys with dinning table n bathrooms/toilets attach.
