extremely friendly and accommodating staff, fantastic local food- mushroom soup with buckwheat žganci and pork cracklings. good prices and one of the few venues on pohorje that takes tourism seriously and remain open and consistent

Nice rooms, excellent kitchen, very friendly staff! Great possibilities for tracking tours, even with children! Walk through nice wood to experience nature and silent surroundings. You can organize a trip to the lovely city of Maribor with a cabin and visit museum, aquarium and walk in the beautiful park.

I went to Hotel Zarja with a group of friends and the experience was very good overall. It is located in the woods of Mariborsko Pohorje so the nature around is lovely. The rooms are very clean and well decorated, so is the dinning room and the hotel lobby. |They have free wi-fi which works excellent and you can also use their computer in the lobby for free if you wish. Because there were a lot of us we had the whole floor for ourselves which was a great option. You can rent an apartment with a living room and the kitchen or just a room - either way we all had couches, a very clean and nice bathroom with a shower and a TV in every room.|I especially have to give credits to the kitchen because the food was amazing - vegetarian and meat dishes and one of us had the gluten-free option and it was all very good. You can take as much soup and salad (green salad, radish, beans, cabbage, corn, etc.) as you like and they serve you the main dish. Everything was delicious - meat cooked properly, vegetables done al dente, great pasta and desserts, homemade gnocchi etc. Everything very tasty, fresh and well-seasoned. Breakfast also very good.|The thing I missed were vegetables and more fruit at breakfast and a little bit different options to eat at breakfast.|Great experience overall and the staff was friendly our entire stay there.

We stopped to lunch after skiing. Great food choice and menu. We took two children menus and two meals for adults, it was great. Recommended for sure

We had a 5 course culinary delight, which for us lasted most of the afternoon. The service was fantastic and the food divine. The hotel is quaint and in a fantastic location, with stunning views. While we did not stay we were given a guided tour of the hotel, the rooms are nice , lots of options, the top floor has an apartment which has a kitchenette and can sleep up to 6 people and has two balconies. It looked very comfortable and we would love to stay there next time we are here.

After a nice hike in the Pohorje we decided to stop at hotel Zarja to eat lunch. The hotel is at about 2 hours from the cabinlift which takes you from Maribor to Pohorje. There are six menus and you have to pick one. The soup is the same in all menus the main course differs. There were two variants for the soup. The soup was good and also the grilled trout was tasty. Service was very slow we waited a hour and a half for the dessert and eventually left without eating it. In the hotel yard it smelled like pee, their evacuation system was probably broked.

We decidet to eat lunch in restaurant hotel Zarja. We ordered plate Zarja for two person. Enaugh for my family with two children. On plate was warius meet and vegetables all prepaered very good. At the and we ordered pancakes with vanilla icecream. Advice visit this restaurant if you want to have good lunch. Ed

After an hour of walk from the cable car station, I reached this hotel restaurant. (It's well indicated so you can simply follow the sign to have a great walk) I wasn't sure if I could have a good meal as the restaurant was empty and the lunch menus sounded quite classic. And I was wrong. Very wrong. I chose the vegetarian menu, the wild mushroom soup: super tasty, rich in garniture, main dish with grilled veggies and smoked tofu, rice with extra salad: everything's so perfectly done, fresh, nicely yet simply presented. Dessert was light and refreshing, not too sweet. I couldn't believe that somebody can sell a full course menu like this for 11€50! I left the restaurant so happy, it made my day, together with the amazing walk in Pohorje.
