Yelp
I was torn between a 3 or 4 star rating, so it is more of a 3.5 rating for our first time here.
*Please note that wifi is non existent in the rooms. They only work well in the reception and dining areas (level 0 and -1). They issue a key ID that is good for 7 days and one device, so if you have multiple devices, ask for several key IDs.
Check in/Check out:
We arrived late in the evening around 10pm but there were no issues. We were able to check in with ease and the front desk staff gave us all we needed for our weekend stay. Check out was not an issue as well, very easy and without any troubles. The staff here are very helpful. They also helped me make my reservation over the phone even though my Spanish speaking skills are non existent.
The hotel also gives a big locker for your equipment that is located just below the lifts on the -2 level of the parking garage. All you need to do is leave a 20€ deposit with them and get it back after returning the keys.
Car Parking:
located on -2 level, so upon arriving, just look for signs. Bring your parking ticket with you when checking in. They will stamp it and this gives you a discount for parking. They will instruct you to bring this discounted ticket to -3 level of the parking garage and you can pay ahead of time. Very easy and a good rate.
Location:
You can't get a better location than this. The hotel is situated in the main plaza area that is the hub for getting lift tickets, rental equipment, and restaurants. This was the winning factor for us. it was very convenient for us to walk out of the hotel and be in the plaza without having to walk up and down any hills.
Rooms/Dining:
The hotel itself has an older feel but overall it is nice and cozy. We were given a room on the -3 level that faced part of the mountain. Overall, the cleanliness of the room and facilities were good. The only negative feeling about the room was that the beds were very uncomfortable (which gives the 3.5 rating). We had two twin beds pushed together and Thin mattresses. You could feel the bed springs with any movement you make. The floors are tiled and cold so bring warm slippers to walk. Walls are thin so if you're a light sleeper, take note of this. There is a safe and small refrigerator provided in the room.
Our rate included breakfast buffet. Hours are from 8-11am and can be very busy the first hour as people are trying to load up before the lifts open. They offer hot and cold items and plenty of beverage choices.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The only problem we had was the bed. After a long day of snowboarding, it would be nice to be able to have a bed you could easily fall asleep in. I've read lots of reviews about this place and the common issue is mostly the uncomfortable beds and wifi issues in the rooms. Hopefully the hotel can take note of this to improve their facilities.
