We stayed at this hotel a few years ago, two nights booked. We left after one night, this is,by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in!.especially the SWINGING bed. This is no joke! There is a difference between nostalgic and a wreck. The food was so bad( evening meal) it was sent back, some of the other geusts ordered fish, which was off! We did ,infact eat in a guesthouse just down the road. The room we where in was terrible, dirty, cold and tatty.

Arrived late at night by car from Hannover Airport. Rented a budget car from Avis. It had a satnav so I was able to follow that all the way to the front door. I called the Hotel before setting off from airport. Previous to that the Hotel had sent me e-mail not to forget to call, as they do not have night staff. On this occasion I had 2 women waiting at the main doors to the Hotel even though it was quite late in the night..11:30 (German time). They had a big welcoming smile, without any reference to the gross inconvenience caused by this British Visitor. It was a Friday night, so they could be with their partners instead of playing nanny to this visitor!

We were quite satisfied with our stay at the hotel until we were going to check out. We had booked our rooms through Hotels.com and first they attempted to charge us a higher price than was agreed upon in the reservation. When we requested the agreed upon price, they pretended to not understand for a while (second inconvenience) and then finally they gave up and realized that the manager had to be contacted. The third inconvenience was that they did not make the call themselves, but _we_ had to make the call. After a long call the manager finally accepted that the agreed upon price was what we were going to pay and informed the staff. The fourth inconvenience was that we still did not get this price! The price clearly stated "including taxes and fees" but they insisted on adding the "Kur-taxe" yet another time. After another long discussion (fifth inconvenience) where they pretended not to understand we gave up and paid the "Kur-taxe" twice. Each of these inconveniences are completely unacceptable and needless to say, one day of our vacation was completely ruined by this.

my room was big and ok , however if you have bought a gutshein.travel voucher on ebay you will have problems booking , 2 weeks before i arrived here i looked on the booking facilty , almost no rooms available,,,,,as i was passiing that way anyhow i thought id give it a try.......the boss told me that he only had a room for 2 nights , anway i accepted this......i did explain to the boss , i speak passable german , that due to my illness i may not be awake in time for breakfast.....he assured me that i would be able to get a snack in the hotel bar in lieu of brakfast.....i got half a small loaf and 2 patties of butter , ni jam , ham or eggs and had to pay for coffee.....the buffet dinner was less than good , price 12 euros,,,,,the rom was very pleasant , as was the evenings piano man..........the staff here are mainly bulgrian and good luck to them , but speaking german or english was hard for them......i had a huge drinks bill,,,,,not sure it was correct bit i couldnt be bothered to wait for the boss who was always somewhere else when you needed him,,,,,and the woman who took my money spoke bery very basic german....its a lovely building

We were travelling through Germany and found this fantastic place with a beautiful hotel.||The rooms are really spacious. The breakfast was lovely also.||We did not eat in the hotel but the food smelt really good.||We went to the Italian a couple of doors down.||We called in the pub/restaurant next door and was made to feel really welcome.

Yelp
An exquisite old historical land mark in a small city with a lot of history and a breath taking calmness. The food and the service are very old but what I like most about it, is that the staff and the owners are one family for me it was like staying in such a magical house with this family. An excellent choice for the ones seeking an escape or a shelter out of the modern cities of madness and stress.
