Lovely little hotel in Basel city. The rooms and overall area were clean albeit in need of a little TLC (some scuffing on the walls and torn carpet). Its the perfect hotel if youre looking for somewhere a bit cheaper (by Switzerland standards) but that is still clean and comfortable. Friendly service. Indian restaurant downstairs that residents get 10% discount at. The surrounding area is beautiful and has nearby trams and busses.

Stayed for 1 night during Eurovision week. Hotel is fairly dated and quite basic but had no complaints during the stay. We had a family room which was very spacious & had a balcony area attached which was an added bonus. Check in and out was easy. Staff provided Basel pass on arrival for during our stay. Great location in old town & close to transport links.

We stayed in the hotel to see the Christmas markets in Basel. The markets were beautiful and the town was very pretty but it was the hotel that made our trip that extra bit special. Amarik on reception greeted us with a kind, warm and loving reception and looked after us so well. His presence was a joy and made us feel like we were the only people in the world. We had some trouble finding a travel adapter as the plugs aren’t the EU ones, and he couldn’t have done more for us in finding a charger and letting us use it until our phones were charged. |We would definitely stay at this hotel in hope to see Amarik again and to stay in the wonderful and traditional hotel and the town of Basel was beautiful. |Thank you for the best holiday ever.

The room was big but outdated, no air-conditioning. No parking available nearby a 10 minute walk to a 25 CHF parking garage or paid on street parking.

Pretty basic, but everything clean and tidy. Lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good - love the coloured eggs! A bit expensive, but everything in Switzerland seems to be! The card that gave us free transport and 50% off some attractions was a great bonus. A number of bus and tramp stops close by.

A horrible place to be in. The manager was horrendous from the beginning for no reason. He refused to give us our room and even made derogatory comments about our appearance. It was as if this was the first day he was working in the hospitality industry. No professionalism, no manners. We ended up calling Booking to cancel our stay and rebook at a different hotel. We are also considering calling the police because this went way too far. Also Booking will be taking action as well. It is so sad because this was our first time in Switzerland and we were looking forward to enjoying our time here.

Great location very close to the old town and university. The rooms are large comfortable and clean except for the carpets that need renewing. We were in a corner room and even with the windows closed we could hear the rumble of the trams going by, but there is very little extra traffic. No air conditioning but a fan was provided and tea/coffee and a fridge. The heating is centrally provided and was not on. There is a very nice Indian restaurant attached but a little bit expensive as is all of Basel! Need to book on a Friday or Saturday as it is very popular. Staff are helpful and friendly. Good value for Basel.

Perfectly lovely stay. I read online that the hotel is bike friendly and they are, they have a large storage room behind the front desk in a locked room so your bike can be safe. Clean rooms, good area, and the Indian restaurant is really good, and a good breakfast spread
