Hotel zur Kloster-Mühle

Lovely quiet location with room that made yoy not want to leave. The resraurant was closed on our visit, however the offered cheese and cold meat platter was exelent. Breakfast was nice too and we sat outside eating it. Will defiently stay again if we are going in that direction again.

An oasis in the forest! Brilliant little overnight break on way up to Northern Denmark! Self-contained hotel, around a lake, fabulous restaurant, plentiful and varied breakfast... but rooms were very special and unique! So pleased with quality of room and service that we could have stopped another night to unwind even more. Thank you for setting us up on a lovely holiday.

Fabulous restored and converted watermill with intriguing and quirky aspects to the building. Gross Meckelsen is a tiny village, nay, a hamlet with great walks and woods all around. The arrangement for our arrival without any staff present was very clever. Our platter (vesper) for 2 was perfect. We did not dine in the restaurant as it was closed for Sunday & Monday in the winter. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The value for money was a wonderful surprize. This is one of those places which are justified in being called "a hidden gem".

Had a wedding to attend in a nearby village and spent the weekend here with our family. The guest house was fantastic with a huge living room and dining room kitchen with three modest bedrooms. The restaurant is fantastic, the staff very friendly, and the included breakfast buffet wonderful. Access to many walking trails close by and in the middle of the forest on a little pond. highly recommend!!!

Arrived at 6 pm and the place was very quiet. To be fair they did open the kitchen for us to have a business dinner. Rooms are comfy and very quiet, so a good nights sleep is assured. Breakfast was good. Only downer is that there is no mobile phone coverage so you have to drive half a mile to make calls/get emails. Nice if you want to switch off, not so good if you're on business.

Wonderful hotel, great location. Excellent service: they made it possible to change rooms so that we still could enjoy a better view and slightly larger rooms for two nights. Been here several times before and always the same experience. Comfortable and spotless rooms!!

This was a perfect place to stop on our cycling tour of Germany. The hotel is in a lovely rural setting overlooking a Mill Pond. The exterior of the hotel perfectly fits the surroundings, but the interior decor is contemporary and has a real 'luxury' feel. The food was great and the experience of eating outside on a lovely sunny evening was great. All together one of the best places we have ever stayed in.
