Hotel Zweite Heimat

Amazing hotel, beautiful view of North Sea, great food, location perfect as the beach is directly in front, and wonderful spa/sauna area.

We had an absolutely perfect holiday in this magical place. For beach lovers the location can't be beat --- a short walk over the sand dunes and you are welcomed by one of the largest beaches I've ever seen. The hotel itself is incredible and has managed to build a 'vibe' that truly lives up to it's "2nd Home" name. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we could be ourselves and relax. There's cozy seating all over the property -- both inside and out --- so you can relax with a drink or just enjoy the sun and sea air. Breakfast buffet is extensive and has long hours -- perfect for liesurely mornings on the terrace. There are two spa areas and we enjoyed them every afternoon after walking the beach --- top spa facilities, incredibly relaxing. We were especially excited about how dog friendly the hotel is ----- that has definitely drawn a lot of dog owners so it was fun being with like minded people. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, of course! And one added bonus - one of the few things that annoys me when travelling is that the check in process at hotels always seems to take forever. This never makes sense to me as you provide all of your information ahead of time. It's frustrating to say the least. Not a problem at Zweite Heimat. We walked up to reception --- they took our name and simply said "follow me". The staff escorted us to our room, opened the door --- showed us around and left us the keys. LOVE IT! ||I almost don't want to share this dreamy experience with anyone (because I'd like to keep it a secret so that we can get a room whenever we want :) BUT---the team at Zweite Heimat deserves a good review and even more business. The place, location, service, rooms, spa and generally the whole concept is just amazing. We are so glad to have chance to be the guests. Our dog was also very happy to be accepted and to be treated like a guest. Hotel offer dog beds, beautiful bowls and yummy dog treats. Dog beach is just a cross the road. Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed here while attending a wedding! It was amazing! The room was clean and new like. We had the suite with a sauna inside the room with a view of the ocean. More than comfortable! I liked the snack area outside the room in the hallway. The spa downstairs was also convenient. The restaurant downstairs was also very good. Breakfast was so good with more than enough selections. We ate there for dinners as well and it was also very good. Everyone who worked there from the front desk, housekeeping, restaurant served with friendliness. They made you really feel welcomed and thankful for your business. This is probably one of my best experiences at a hotel in Germany! I shall return and suggest you stay here if your in the area!

Our first visit to SPO but definitely not the last especially if we can stay at Zweite Heimat again. Probably one of the nicest rooms we’ve stayed at in 25 years of travel all over the world, Not only did they take care of us but also our dog. They have water bowls outside, towels, toys and treats when you enter thru the main entrance! Very useful in wiping down a very happy dog after their beach visit. Our room was beautifully decorated, great amount of light and a very comfortable bed. ||||Check in was quick and efficient and the staff are very friendly.||||Thank you so much and we’ll see you again soon!

I have been to the hotel a number of times and if you want to be directly at the sea side this is one of the places to be. About 1,5hours far from Hamburg, the hotel is directly at the biggest beach of Germany. Down to earth and just enjoying the rough weather, the waves and wonderful clouds, kilometres of white sand, very nice and cosy restaurants and a "feel like home" hotel! Be aware, you do not need to care about the weather, it´s an all-year hotel and you will enjoy all the year long.|The hotel itself is very nice, extremely friendly staff, good SPA (not to fancy, but very relaxing). The style is more warm, a lot of candles, in a number of rooms you will have your own SPA too. Dogs are really welcome and you just can be yourself. Breakfast is very good, sometime a bit too crowded. For the restaurant "Esszimmer" ("Dining Room") I would recommend to make a reservation.|If you want to have 1 or 2 days off, this is the place for you.|Please ask for a higher floor with sea view - it´s worth it!|Parking is for free.

Wonderful stay, wonderful hotel, breakfast was especially good!

Very nice and comfy hotel. Breakfast is excellent. You cannot get any closer to the beach. A really nice and quiet area. We haven't tried the spa but the rooms are very clean and beautiful. You can eat in the restaurant in the hotel. The Food is typical for this area of germany and tasted very good

Friendly Staff great location but bit Very overpriced Hotel compared to other same class Hotel. Beds hatd. We gad a family room with the bathtub and ocean view- its small for a family and dog. So kids ended up sleeping on the huge sofa because the extra beds were taken up to much space in the room. Not much privacy for parents with children And dog- breakfast was fine although staff wasn't very attentive (no silverware on tables And no coffee or water service all self service no cleaning up used plates/ tables). Not sure i like the mini bar concept on each level one kitchenette for all rooms. Coffee costs 1.50 or bring your own instant coffee or teabags. We also brought our own champagne and wine to put into fridge but there is not much room- We had the big family room with ocean view which was lovely to see the sunset. the great thing is that you are allowed to bring your dog to dinner and lunch but except breakfast which i understand, they have a nice outdoor patio seating with a little play area for toddlers and little ones. Service was super nice. The Spa section is lovely, the beach close and its beautiful for a run in the morning or walk with the dog. There is a bus stop right next to the hotel also a grocery store where you can get almost everything. There are Restaurants and small cheaper restaurants around- Beach Motel Restaurant next to is highly recommend
