Hotelinho da Urca

This was really like to be in a family! Andreas and his team made a great work to make us feel like at home. Very very nice person, friendly and always helping you. ||Accomodation has all you need, small kitchen fridge and a nice sleeping room, a stunning view over one bay of Rio on the shared terrace. Breakfast was another very nice plus! :)||Position is in a safe and lively street of Urca.||All great really, highly recomended!||Alberto,Erika and Roger

The location of this place is excellent in a safe part of Rio, which makes it possible to walk to and from the cable car to Sugarloaf Mountain and around the neighborhood, even after dark (do be sensible, however). |The view from the roof top, where breakfast is served, is nothing short of fantastic. Below, on the street, people gather to watch the sunset, while you can sit three stories up and watch the same miracle.|Andreas and his staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. |Our room was clean, basic and spacious. We had everything we could ask for.|A highly recommended base for excursions in the city. There is a bus line passing outside the hotel, bur we took an Uber whenever we wanted to get to nearby Copacabana, Corcovado, Centro or elsewhere in the city.

Our stay at Hotelinho Urca Guesthouse was lovely. Andreas is the owner, and he is very kind, knowledgable and interesting. Andreas was a very welcoming, helpful, available and gracious host. We had two units. We had the room with the view at the front - fantastic experience, plus one of the back rooms, also lovely, incredible to be so close to the Sugarloaf, right beside it. The breakfast was yummy and full of variety. The rooms were very clean. There is a rooftop He let us keep our luggage longer as we had a late day flight out. The location can't be beat if you are in Urca.

Lovely bed and breakfast style accommodation. Andreas is a wonderful host. Located in a quiet waterfront neighborhood but nice and central to Rios sights. Room was spacious with quirky decor. Breakfast excellent with a continental buffet and a different daily hit dish. Highly recommended

We did not get to stay because extra family member came so made other arrangements before a cancellation made room available for her but Andreas was right on top of communications via WhatsApp and speaks perfect English. My niece lives in the neighborhood and this is a perfect location for a stay in Rio. We hope to stay there in the future since she’s having a baby!

Great boutique hotel in a quiet part of the city. It was good to have the extra space - a separate sitting room. There is a bit of street noise (and flashing red lights from the police stand outside the hotel) but it is quieter in the bedroom. The hotel is close to beaches, restaurants, malls etc. The rooftop area where breakfast is served is lovely. Andreas and the others looked after us very well. I highly recommend staying here.

superb location, the view from the rooms and the terrace is fantastic. The sun sets in front of you with a magnificent backdrop of the Christ statue and down below the Rio bay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The area is super safe as it is a "police base "area. We used Uber a lot and never felt unsafe. There is a convenience store next door. We'll be back!

Such a great stay. Quiet, comfortable and great location and views. A stone's throw away from Sugarloaf mountain and a walking distance from Copacabana beach. Andreas and the staff were so warm and welcoming. They went above and beyond to see our needs were met. Highly recommend staying here!!
