Hotell Bode

Our room was impeccably fresh, clean, modern and with incredibly comfortable beds and our own modern toilet/shower. Wonderful thick towels too. The artwork and furnishings were unique and made us feel very comfortable. ||The lady who checked us in around 6:30pm spoke English and answered all our questions, including arrangements for my son's gluten free breakfast. Later in the evening, we walked down the street for a delicious meal at the restaurant Kopmannagarden (at Drottninggatan 88), and returned to Hotel Bode to be greeted by a sweet older couple, who made us feel welcome and happy, and with smiles, gestures and a few English words confirmed the breakfast arrangements. The gentleman even went downstairs to double check we were in the right parking. The lovely couple greeted us again in the morning and showed us the absolutely wonderful breakfast room, with so many offerings on the buffet. We chatted with some of the other "local" (Swedish) people who were staying here.||When we first drove up, I was a little worried when I saw the old-fashioned 'Hotel Bode' sign and the street-side entrance. To enter, you needed to hit a buzzer at the door, and then walk up a couple flights of stairs, which included entrances to some other private apartments. However, once we met the staff and were into our room, we were incredibly happy! Once you check in, your room key will open the front door, so access later at any time is no problem. Later I laughed at my first reaction. Don't jump to the wrong conclusion - this is a lovely place.||My 2 sons and I were on our way from Kalmar to Copenhagen, so we only could stay for one night, but we wished we could stay for many more!

Good place to stay for the night in Karlshamn. Only reason for -1 star is lack of an elevator. The hotel is located in a shared building on the third floor so it was a challenge to get our bicycles up. Also to enter upon arrival you need to interact with the doorbell system which calls the owner who then gives opens the lockbox with the key to the room. Key also opens the front door. Would not recommend to anyone who struggles with stairs. Shower is communal but kept clean. Room had sink and toilet. We were able to fit both of our touring bicycles in the room with ease.

The hotel is in a building shared by other tenants so you need to ring a doorbell to be let in when you arrive -- you are then given an entrance key and your room key when you check in. The landlady was extremely nice and welcoming, and spoke English very well. We stayed in the family room. It has two rooms, one with two single beds and the other with a queen size bed. The room was clean and comfortable. The family room has a private bathroom with a shower, but no tub. Some of the other rooms share a bathroom that is in the hallway. The breakfast included in the price of the room was very good and filling. Parking is on the street. We slept with the windows open, but had to close them around dawn since there are a lot of sea birds in the area which were very noisy. Overall a very nice hotel in a small town.

Nice and friendly hostess and the room was clean and practical. Large wardrobe to hang clothes and the family room was a nice surprise with four real beds in two connected rooms with a door between. Really comfortable beds and nice breakfast. I will definitely stay here again when visiting Karlshamn.

Small but very comfortable room, the showers are shared between all people in the hotel, that was not so nice. No real parking place available. Within walking distance of a shopping area. Difficult to access unless you get the passcode to the door early on. Not to bad hotel. Would not mind staying there again.

We arrived a bit late and the landlady welcomed us still with a large smile. We had a nice and cosy room, very clean and with good beds and large towels. In the morning, the breakfast buffet was another good surprise, considering Bode is a 2.5 star - we sat at the window, nicely decorated with fresh flowers.

Would stay here again. Toilet and sink in each room. Street parking. In downtown Karlshamn. Good breakfast included with room including meats, juice, yogurt, good coffee, and more. My son and I each had a room. There are no elevators.

Nice little hotel that was very clean and big rooms. The hoast was Nice and easy to reach. Breakfirst was small but Nice and well arranged. Hotel was located in the mittle of the city, so perfect for us as a family. We Can absolutely recument This hotel.
