Hotell Villa Borgen

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay in Visby and at the Hotel Villa Borgen. It's perfectly located to explore the town and is clean and charming. We booked the Junior Suite, which was quite spacious spread over 2 floors with the bathroom on the bottom level and living areas on top. The top level featured a large comfortable bed and sofas as well as a balcony with views of the rooftops and sea. The bathroom was compact, but adequate, with a good shower. We enjoyed breakfast in their cozy dining room. Reception was a bit reserved, though helpful and cordial. We thought it was a very good value.

Cozy and quiet little hotel. Great breakfast menu. Lady that works in the kitchen has a really great taste! Rooms are tiny but everything you need is there. Even a small refrigerator... Great location, you can walk all over the city and still have close to the hotel.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the amenities and comfort at Hotel Villa Borgen. You walk into a little courtyard where most of the rooms are located and decently spaced away from the street. I don't think there's a lot of traffic otherwise but it made all the difference. The rooms are private and even have a television. Given the proximity of adjacent rooms, you'd think that there would be a noise problem. I slept amazingly well. Breakfast was really good and is included. You get a choice of breakfast items - yogurt, cured meats, bread, coffee (most importantly), and etc. I think there was even a waffle station but I didn't check it out. Service was fast and I definitely would love to come back in the future.

A very cozy hotel with a nice staff. The backyard is perfect for breakfast or just a beer after a day in Gotland. The room was clean, there’s a little fridge and a modern bathroom. The bed was comfortable, we slept really good. The interior is Scandinavian, loved it. The hotel is located inside the wall that surrounds inner Visby, making it close to all the restaurants, pubs and city attractions. The rooms are located away from the street so you could sleep with an open window without hearing the city noise. There’s a big parking lot only 200m away from the hotel, it’s cheap. The hotel has an own parking for 150sek/day a few meters away from the main door. ||||We had a great stay and we’d love to come back!

Very well located, yet in a quiet courtyard / garden of its own. Standard double rooms seem to be all fairly small (ours was 12 sqm) but adequate since we did not spend much time there. Bed was large and comfy enough. Bathroom also quite cramped but adequate. Extra space was afforded by the pretty garden where there were chairs and tables. It’s a bit pricey for the standard that would better be described as B&B than hotel (there was staff present only from morning till 5pm). Very good breakfast.

Great room off of a shared courtyard. The room was clean and well-maintained, with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious and lovely. Definitely good overall value and will be going back. I also really enjoyed that while Villa Borgen is within very close walking distance of the water, it is on a quieter street with no noise from bars, etc. We ended up arranging to check in after their reception desk hours, which was very seamless and easy after calling to arrange with the staff.

This place is perfect! The courtyard is the most romantic and beautiful little place. Its great for having friends to come over to picnic or drink and you can relax and chill in the hammock. The place is small and located on one of the busier tourist streets within Visby but it's still quiet. It isn't a luxury hotel by any means but its still clean and comfortable. The room had a big bed and a mini fridge and they have room service clean and tidy up every day. The breakfast was delicious so definitely include that in your reservation because the price is worth it and you avoid having to eat at a tourist trap or buy expensive coffees. They even provided us umbrellas for when it rained. Definitely recommend, this is a great value for the money.

During my two nights, the other guests (a family - grandmother, parents, and a small child) were very noisy all the time. I think they booked several rooms. They screamed into each other's rooms until 11pm. At 11:30 pm someone banged on my door, without any reason. It was a scary night. None of hotel staff stopped them. (Maybe staffs are not staying at night time) I almost felt like lying in a slum where the poor people lives. Also, the hotel says they have their own a parking lot, but it doesn't. I had to pay my own money to park outside of the city walls, 5 minutes walking distance to the hotel. I am very sorry that I have to give such low score for this beautiful hotel, since room was clean and staffs were very kind. Thanks for that.
