3.5 stars is right for this resto. I feel sad for some of their staff. There're some great ones in the dining server like Ana and the 2 ladies that came to my room to bring cups and teaspoon + electric kettle and a coffee machine as nothing were in the room (which we've to asked). Not even a rubbish bin in the room. The hair conditioner pump also didn't work. Room is very dark and there is a table but no chair so is impossible to work on the table. |Anyway, what frustrates us is the fact they know we can't go elsewhere so no one is willing to be flexible especially the chef. We were hoping can they please serve the dinner slightly earlier? No not possible, so we say ok we'll look at the menu and ensure we tell the server exactly what we want once seated at 7:30pm. We're the only 2 tables around and end up our 2nd course can only appear at 9pm. I missed the 2nd course as this is just too much since we've a long hike the next morning. Our lunch pack was meant to be picked up at 7:45am as promised but of course didn't turn up at reception and when we told reception we need to leave at 8am and it has to turn up? She said yes. So we have to hover at reception till 8:20 where poor reception has to ask their chef to "Hurry Up". All these drama could be reduced if their chef can be more cooperative. But of course we're under their mercy since this is a very remote place where you've no where to go. ||If you love late evenings and have great eyesight in the dark, this is a great place.

Fantastic stay at Hotellerie de Mascognaz! The family of 4 stayed here on Feb 8-15 2025 and we were blown away by the tranquility of this beautiful ”village” up the mountain. The morning and afternoon rides to Champoluc by snow-mobile put a perfect frame around each day’s skiing. We enjoyed the spa with sauna and Hammam each early evening as we prepared for dinner. Food was excellent (we stayed with half-board) and throughout the week we were offered new dishes on the menu with 3 different selections of antipasti, primi, secondi and dolce. Good wine list. Very friendly staff and we were very well taken care of. My wife and I will definitely come back again.

We have been coming to Champoluc for 20 years, and wanted to try this resort given its reputation. Lets start with the positive - this is a beautifully restored hamlet, and our chalet was spacious and beautifully appointed (which you would expect at this price point)||We had a few minor negatives during our stay:| - whilst the restaurant staff were all very friendly, food was very variable - some dishes were truly excellent, others were laughably bad. Everything is very rich. Breakfasts were tasty but limited. Bar prices are excessive - way higher than anywhere else in town, and drinks are average at best. They serve filtered tap water at dinner and have the cheek to charge you as if you are drinking San Pelligrino!| - The spa is a decent facility, let down by the staff, who dont enforce the 'adults only' hours (and dont care when you point this out them). The spa is also a 15 minute walk from the main village, along an exposed pathway, so not exactly a relaxing place to go.||And we had some MAJOR negatives:| - transportation to the main town is via skidoo and minibus - more than once we were waiting 45 minutes in town to be collected, which becomes very dull after the initial novelty. Apparently they are struggling to find drivers, but when you point out the issue to management they dont seem to think it is an issue(!)| - the skidoos themselves are a major health and safety issue. You sit in a four person 'chariot' attached to the back of the skidoo, and ours became detached when the skidoo hit a bump on the track, causing the chariot to crash into the skidoo, leaving us shaken and with minor bruising. Luckily this happened on the flat path - had it happened on the steep mountain path it would have potentially been fatal. Again on reporting this to management we got little more than a shoulder shrug. We checked out early because of this, and I would urge anyone using this transport to be very cautious.||The resort's biggest issue appears to be new management, who arrived recently from Germany - they completely lack the ability to run a resort of this class and are ruining it as a result - you can sense the tension among the longer-serving staff. We will not be returning - there are fabulous hotels in the village that do so much more to deserve our custom.

Nestled in the enchanting Italian Alps, Hotellerie de Mascognaz is a true gem that effortlessly combines rustic charm with modern comfort. From the moment you step into this idyllic mountain retreat, you are greeted by the warmth of traditional Alpine design – wooden beams, stone walls, and cozy, inviting spaces – yet it never feels outdated. The hotel has been thoughtfully renovated, maintaining the spirit of the region while introducing modern touches that elevate the experience. The rooms are an exquisite blend of old-world charm and contemporary luxury, offering a peaceful refuge with breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks and lush meadows. The ambiance is romantic and nostalgic, perfect for couples seeking a quiet escape. Surrounded by pristine nature, Hotellerie de Mascognaz offers more than just a place to stay – it’s an experience. Whether you're enjoying a warm cup of coffee on the terrace, gazing at the sweeping views of the Alps, or exploring the nearby hiking trails, you feel immersed in a world where time slows down, and nature takes center stage. The air is crisp, and the silence of the mountains provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection. With an excellent guide, Nerinka, you can enjoy a complimentary tour that will leave you longing for the local nature for years. In a setting this beautiful, it’s impossible not to feel a deep sense of connection to both the land and the history of the place. The cozy atmosphere and attentive staff make every moment feel special, from intimate dinners featuring local cuisine to relaxing spa treatments inspired by the surrounding natural elements. Hotellerie de Mascognaz is a perfect blend of rustic elegance, modern luxury, and nature’s quiet majesty – a place where time stands still, and you can create memories to cherish forever. I recommend it to all of my friends and family, and dream of the next chance we can return here!

What a lovely holiday we had at the Hotellerie De Mascognaz. We were there or a January weekend with friends and had the most wonderful time in this snowy paradise.||Rooms: lovely rustic wood rooms with character and charm - each room was cozy and warm and had unique features - our room had a cushioned filled reading nook. Our friends room had stone stairs leading to a loft area. decorated tastefully with lots of textures and earthy colours - it was so inviting and comfortable. bathrooms were open for our room and tall hubby had a bit of a challenge in the shower under the roof slope hence baths were in order. bathroom had expected amenities (toothbrush, shower caps, bathrobes, slippers, etc). ||Food: excellent food at the restaurant - we had some traditional pasta dishes and cheese dishes for lunches and enjoyed the richness and flavours. our dinner table was an old stone milling wheel! We sat on the winter balcony and enjoyed the views overlooking their little valley. ||Service: pick up from the car park was via a snowmobile, one for our luggage and one for 6x guests - 20 min ride up the mountain which was a fun experience, service was excellent from reception to checkout, nothing left wanting, lovely wait staff and bartenders, and lovely room staff helpful and brought you extra towels or anything else you needed.||Spa is nicely done with a warm pool and jacuzzi and a sauna room. Not huge but more than sufficient for the hotel size. They also have robes and slippers there too so no need to lug from your room.||Hard to believe its classified as 4* as this was a really lovely hotel and staff. The rooms are in different buildings hence you have to walk outside to get to the spa or dinner - bring grippy boots. Once you get your head around that, its really a good experience too see the area. on a beautiful day, you will also hikers and their dogs also walk through the hotel ‘village’ too.

it is a cosy widespead hotel in the locality of Mascognaz. The place is beautiful and really characteristic, The staff is very nice and attentive and the food was really good (we had two dinners there). A special thank to Nerinka, the guide who is organizing the sport activities. We attended a "ciaspolata (snowshoeing)" on Saturday morning. We were a small heterogenous group with different abilities (as you can see from the pictures!) and she took care of all of us, so that every one could have fun and feel comfortable. She also give us a lot of information about the history and the nature: the time really flew by! Only remark (but not a big deal) : the SPA could be better.

Mascognaz was brilliant, Chiara and Stephanie were an absolute credit to the hotel, really going above and beyond, with a smile. The daily menu was excellent, and we really enjoyed our time at the hotel. Spectacular views and comfortable, clean accomodation.|I am leaving 4 stars, as I just felt some of the little things let the hotel down:|(i) our sky TV didn't work, so Christmas day watching Christmas TV in English didn't happen,|(ii) there were a few hiccups with the transfers, but these things happen, |(iii) no fresh food for breakfast, there was a fruit bowl but it would have been nice to have some prepared fresh food with the meats/cheeses...|(iv) no real attempt to feel Christmassy in the restaurants with the same "shopping" music played on cycle, |(v) also kids in the spa area, running around, leaving sauna doors open, the jacuzzi was cold and one of the massage jets in the pool didn't work...|As say, all minor things, but for me just took the edge off the 5 stars...We did enjoy our stay and we would strongly recommend a visit.

We were a large group celebrating a special event and the fantastic staff could not have done more to make this a truly remarkable trip. The accommodation is beautiful (rooms may seem small but thoughtful and interesting), amazing spa and massage, an excellent local guide that took us on two spectacular walks, and great food and wine. Super value for money - many of us are planning to be back soon!
