Really great location in a quiet street but only 5 minutes away from the city center on foot. Nice buffet selection for mornings and evenings. Cute comfortable room really strange/awkward bathroom with the toilet in the shower cubicle and super bad smell coming from the drain. We only found out on the last day with a piece of paper on the cupboard shelf that cleaning is not done automatically, you need to ask for it at reception - would’ve been useful to be told this straight upon arrival.

I had a really lovely 2 night stay at this hotel. We were a family of 3. Our room was lovely and comfortable on the second floor. We had a small fridge and tv. There was access to Sauna also. Breakfast was really nice and thank you to the owner for providing something I was craving! Coffee also really good. Hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the centre. It is very nice and quiet and mostly for families. It was so quiet we thought we were the only guests until we went to breakfast. Very good value as well. I booked directly with hotel and paid in advance.

Good hotel within easily walkable distance from all main attractions of the city of Rovaniemi. Public bus stops also close by. Breakfast buffet is varied and delightful. Sauna hours for ladies and gents available in the evenings.

Rooms are passable, you get what you pay for. Customer service is terrible and bordering racist. Made a big fuss and threathened to report guest to the police for no reason. Dishonest business. Context: Got locked out of the private house but the reception desk blamed us for flipping a switch that had no labels or foretold awareness regarding to what we should not flip and thus the room card reader did not work. A bare minimum of being able to get into the room should be enabled for any accommodation and the staff handled it very poorly. A late checkout was agreed with the late night staff for the mishap, as we also needed it. The staff the next morning went back on their word and made a big fuss. We needed the late checkout and that was denied to us. So we had to redo our own arrangements last minute. Left an ugly dent on our otherwise good holiday.

The hotel itself is clean yet basic. In the US it would be considered a motel. But the price at 450€ makes it a 4*…||Pros |- very attentive and caring staff|- clean and big rooms (with very basic furnitures)|- parking easily accessible and free |- well located ||Cons|- super expensive for what it is |- breakfast is really subpar, food isn’t good and overheated/dry|- did I mention the cost? |- mattresses are soft (which can be ok) with noisy bed (which isn’t…)

Great Hotel for the price paid at Rovaneimi considering the cost of the other hotels around. They are very courteous in their behaviour. Wished they served more chicken options for breakfast.

Room is a bit small but all is good. Breakfast is okay, buffet style breakfast. A long walk from city center to the hotel, it would be a long miserable walk if you are carrying a suitcase on the snowy ground. Staff service is ok.

Avoid this hotel at all cost if you value your safety. As you can see, this is the first time I am giving a 1 star rating for businesses. I have empathy towards people wjo erred and will always think they could be just having a bad day. It's natural. But this one you're going to read about have broken all my tolerance threshold. Read on and find out why. We checked in on the 18 December 1600h and unpacked all our luggages in the room allocated to us. We then left for our tour on 1900h. When we were back at 2200h and was about to enter the hotel, we discovered then we could not get the card reader to work. We tried for about 5 minutes out in -24 degree celcius before walking all the way back to the reception to get them to either fix the card or the reader. We explained our situation to the lady behind the reception desk and she said it's fine and told us to try again. We walked to our accommdation again for a 2nd attempt and it failed. We walked back and told her we still couldn't enter the house. She walked away briefly before coming back and said it's settled and asked us to try again, and it failed again. We spent a total of half an hour traversing the snowy route to the hotel, 3 times. -24 degree celsius. I got frustrated at this moment and told her she should go check it out instead because I wasn't going to walk the 4th time only to find out it's locked again. Although it's just a short distancr of about 30m walk, it's freezing and I feel as a paying customer, we do not have to go through this kind of treatment if the failure is owing to their system fault. She let out a grunt and relented. About 10 minutes later, it got settled. I requested for 1300h check-out instead of 1100h the next day, as a form of service recovery and she said ok. The next day when I was having the breakfast at the hotel restaurant, there was a different lady behind the counter. She told me our check out time is 1100h and I told her we had an agreement with the lady who took the graveyard shift last night. She screamed at us in front of all the guest with her finger pointing and said "check out time is 1100h and I will call the police if you do at check out at that timing." I could hear her say something like "chinese" under her breath and I asked her to repeat herself. She said she does not want to talk to us anymote and proceeded to take out a stick of cigarettes and went to the back through the kitchen to smoke. I decided not to argue anymore because I have kids and elderly with me. I do not wish to further engage with her she was clearly acting in a barbaric manner. Is this the tourism standard in Finland? Finland is such a nice country but this definitely left a very very sour taste in my mouth. Never did I expect to receive such uncalled for treatment here and the potential racist remarks. I will share this to review to all Asia social media platform, including that of Xiao Hong Shu to make sure everybody can know what to expect over here.
