The white paint is starting to get a bit dirty but that's normal anywhere that is on a coast and paints their buildings white. We were a bit scared that it wouldn't be as amazing as the photos but upon opening the door to the lobby, our fears were assuaged and dissipated immediately.
Carrie immediately greeted us and checked us in. Told us the various options for getting around including renting mopeds, e bikes, cars and a package guided (you choose the itinerary) day trip. We didn't have to decide on the spot. She also gave us recommendations for the places nearby. She took us up to the suite and told us how to operate certain things and left us to pick up our jaws and tongues from off the ground.
We got the penthouse suite with a private dipping pool. Somehow we thought we'd use it but it was too cold with all the wind but it sure made for amazing photos. We had everything we could ask for in our room. Two comfy beds, complimentary snacks and beverages and toiletries. There's seating outside so we enjoyed reading and eating out there.
The view is amazing from our room. The water is stunning and we went to Sail Rock (or as we call it, Nixon's Head) to go snorkeling when the water calmed down a bit.
Breakfast is included. They let you choose from a wide array of beverages. Then there's a set meal they prepare for you that includes a salad, mixed local fruits, and some other stuff. The first day was corn chowder and a sandwich, and sweet potato fries. The second day was the set salad and mixed local fruits, then yogurt with cereal, a strangely delicious omelette with cheese, tomato, peppers, bacon and raw onions, and garlic bread. Final day was egg salad croissant, soup, a chicken finger, fruits and salad.
Allen took care of us for the two full days we spent there. He was there from about 8am to 9pm. There isn't 24hr service here so if you're checking in late, be sure to let them know so arrangements can be made.
We absolutely loved our stay here and would happily stay here again if the opportunity presented itself (and pray we don't have shitty neighbors). It's a gem. It also looked much nicer and more welcoming than a lot of the accommodations on this stretch of the road.
The ONLY downside is that sound travels. We could hear talking all day long. We heard the next door guests having obnoxiously loud rowdy sex to the point we couldn't stop laughing and cringing. It went on from 9pm to 1pm with chatty intermission. They need some weather strips at the bottom so there's no wind transfer from the hallways to/from the units when the patio door is open. Also, maybe weather strips and solid core doors will help with the noise transfer. So if you're noise sensitive, this place isn't for you. It was a trade off for us based on the quality of our suite, the staff friendliness and the quiet location. We are definitely not fans of our next door neighbors as they lacked common courtesy and had no idea just how loud they were being. When it's after hours, there's no way to contact anyone so our complaint about our less than considerate neighbors had to wait until the next day. A definite no for anyone who enjoys a peaceful night's sleep (unless you have the entire floor to yourself). Rather irritated considering we got the VIP suite which was the most expensive room in the building. Definitely didn't like spending so much to be disturbed all evening.
