Lovely indoor market, full of options to dine and/or shop for cooking ingredients. Cosy and colorful, extra bonuspoints for having Coffee Icecream in selection.

Lovely place to buy all kind of food (delicatessen and gourmet)from different places around the world. Pasta, wines, spices, meat and cheeses, and a large variety of chocolate, tea, marmalade, organic oils and don't forget traditional swedish candies. It's a must see in Stockholm.

This market is truly a must visit. Inside of the building on the basement floor is something for everyone. Pick your favourite place and have a seat. I stopped at FiskeLäget and the staff were super friendly. They shared stories and explained all the flavours of the food. Definitely give them a visit if you can!

Yelp
This food hall stands on two levels - street level and an underground. There is a lift and escalators. And I was here twice! Once on my own to the fabulous Kajsas Fisk https://www.yelp.com/biz/kajsas-fisk-stockholm?hrid=9xGPfC0y4NiRGvYtNbGuDQ and again as a stop on our food tour. The food hall has just about everything you might need to satisfy your cravings - kebabs, deli, cheesemonger, gelato, wine and spirits, coffee, candy, sushi, mochi, fruits and veggies, ramen and more. Just wow! The aisles aren't too wide but there's enough room to walk around and take in the sights as you finalize what you're going to have to eat! Prices seemed okay to me, but I'm benefiting from an extremely strong US Dollar these days. [Review 18118 overall - 19 in Sweden - 1640 of 2022.]

Yelp
It's a decent size indoor, underground food market, selling a lot of international foods here. There are lots of food stalls to buy foods, many that you can sit down and eat at too. A variety of coffee, teas, chocolates, cured meats and anything goes here. So many nice restaurant and cafe options on the main floor. It's fun to walk around and check out all of the food offerings at each stall. Maybe get a bite or two along the walk.

Yelp
Located in and around Hötorgshallen the "Old Haymarket" consists of several similar stands plus Food Stalls and Restaurants, much of the product overpriced and seating limited save for those purchasing an item from one of the few purveyors offering dine-in.

Yelp
I have always had a special kind of love for Hötorgshallen. As a child I used to come here with my father when he was to buy groceries to some party. The smell of cured meat meeting you in the escalator on your way down is significant. Everywhere there's hustle an bustle and voices an laughter. And food. The food! It might be a stretch to say you can find whatever you're looking for, but there's certainly enough to make you forget why you came there in the first place, and get caught up by other delicious views! There are several butchers and sellers of excellent cured meats and sausages, a high class vegetable store, specialized wine store, a store specializing in nuts and dried fruits, several small restaurants - and much much more. All to fairly reasonable price. Quality is high and all the vendors are friendly and knowledgeable. Hötorgshallen, after all these years, I'm still in love with you!

Yelp
I love browsing food halls and food markets in general and Hötorgshallen is no exception. The entrance floor has a nice selection of restaurants and cafes. My favorites there are Tokyo Diner (surprisingly a Japanese restaurant serves the best tacos in town), Espresso House (the best Espresso House in town as they have a better selection of coffee and usually one of the barista coaches working here) and Taylors & Jones (nice sausages and some craft beers). The lower level also has some restaurants but the main thing there is the good selection of meat, cheeses and other food items. Most things can be found here and while it is not at all the cheapest place in town I still think it is nice to browse and occasionally buy things here as well. They also have some nice shops for spices as well as one of the better Systembolaget stores in town with excellent staff and good selection of mainly wines. There is even a Finnish specialty food store (if that is your thing). The location is also very good, smack in the middle of the center of town so also good for tourists and people from out of town. I am however a bit disappointed at the poor opening hours. It is totally closed on Sundays which is a day I often like to go both for coffee and food shopping.

Yelp
Awesome market with plenty of food, coffee and other options inside and out. So much foot traffic you know its a place to visit where the real Stockholm population transits.

Yelp
I have always been a fan of food markets. Browsing around food stalls, snacking on tasters and sitting down for a cup of "market-coffee" is wonderfully brainless and relaxing, not to mention quite Finnish (especially the "market-coffee" part). The food I decide to pick up also sets the mood for the evenings wine-activities. Högtorgshallen is one of my absolute favorite food markets in Stockholm. It is not the cheapest, as it is right smack in the center, but it has a good selection of foods, as well as nice restaurants to satisfy mid-shopping snack-attacks. This place might get a bit touristy in the day, but if you head there early in the morning, you can browse in peace. Here are a few tips for restaurants and stalls, and an abundance of photos to get your tummy growling. 1. One of the best cafes in town in located on the street level in Högtorgshallen. Espresso House is a Swedish chain serving decent coffee and cafe food (you can rest assured to get at least an ok brew from every branch). A chain is always tricky because you do not have the same coffee-talent at each location, however this one is special; they have a brew-bar and the talented baristas make hand/brewed coffees from Solberg & Hansen single-origin beans. They don't serve much food, but you can just pop into the Gateau bakery next door to get some pastries or hand made sandwiches to have at the cafe. 2. Tokyo Diner is one of my favorite spots for lunch in the city center. They do sushi and also some warm dishes, like Yakitori, steamed cod and the best pulled pork tacos in town (Asian inspired of course). No reservations required, just walk in and enjoy watching the market come to life around you. 3. Saluplats Husman is a cheese stall downstairs. They have a nice selection of french cheeses, like Gryerge and Comte and some wonderful Brilliant-Savarin (adult Philadelphia). There are always some tasters on the counter to get you into the mood for cheese-shopping and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable (even though this is one of the most touristic markets in town). I do prefer shopping for cheese at Wijnjas Cheese Garage in Kungsholmen though. Their quality is equal and prices 30% lower. However it requires some effort to get there, so if in town, I pick up my cheeses here. These tips were just scratching the surface of the selection at Högtorghallen. There are also several meat stalls, fish restaurants, Taylor & Jones gourmet sausages and a Finnish shop, with all the classics from a Finnish food market (not the touristy crap, but the real deal). You can pop in for wine shopping in Systembolaget (on the bottom floor), and outside on the square you can buy fruit and vegetables, berries (in the summer) and flowers. I also spotted they have a terrace on the roof for having summer drinks outside. Everything is here for a perfect Saturday pre-wine shopping spree.

Yelp
Underground food market. Certainly more reasonably priced than its competitor Ostermalmshallen will ever be. (By the way, Yelps text autofill function put Ostermalmshallen as 'Paternal navel' lol). A good variety of stores, coffee, tea, chocolate, cured meats and such. As you go down the escalator there is always a strong scent of cured meat hitting you right in the face. There used to be a little place here that sold the best veggie burgers. I've heard people say they've seen rats running around the market, so that put me off a bit.

Yelp
I love dropping by Hötorgshallen and looking at all the produce from different parts of the world. Meat sold here is very high quality and I have bought hard to find meat parts in one of the two meat stalls with no problem. I don't think they ever throw out any part of an animal so if you are Asian and you are looking for exotic animal parts (such as pig's blood for yummy Dinuguan which they sell by the tub and frozen), you will sure find it here. I also like going through several stalls including the South American area (alfajores, anyone?) and the seafoods (mussels sold by the net, just like home). The one drawback to Hötorgshallen would be the price as the produce is quite pricey. But, as they say, you get what you pay for so if you really are in need of special ingredients to quell your homesickness, this is the place to go to. Just don't go straight to the movies (which is right next door) with a frozen tub of pig's blood. Someone might call 112 on you.

Yelp
Checked out the Finnish shop (Finska butiken). I noticed that they have YHLÄISTEN LEIPÄ, a kind of Finnish knäckebröd which I highly recommend. Super delicious and healthy. They also had some kind of "Sauna soap" which smelled very nice. Decided to return later. Then went to the wine shop (Systemet). They were nice and sold some great wine, only down side they did not ask for my ID so apparently I look older than 21, this was of course a little bit upsetting. Apart from that, had a great shopping experience at the Hötorgshallen yesterday.

Yelp
My friend and I were just in the mood for some fresh fruit and a light snack, so we went to the market to see what it had to offer. It was right in the middle of renovations, so it appeared a lot was shut down, but it was still a great variety. I first had a small tray of fresh strawberries, which were a little worse for wear a few layers down, but still delicious. I then went to Turkiska Delikatesser and had one of their tasty Turkiskaburgare pita sandwiches which had falafel, eggplant and other treats. I didn't really know what I was ordering, I just went for it and came out very happy.

Yelp
I love coming here during a day of shopping down Drottninggatan. Some of the prices on the grocery and produce items might be a little high, but I think the prepared foods are well worth the visit! There are numerous butchers in the downstairs area that have a lot of specialty meat products for purchase; so if your a meat eater I would definitely give that a peek. They also have a few interesting ethnic food stands to take note of! I especially find the Finnish one interesting. Hötorgshallen is a nice place to take people who are new to Stockholm after exploring this part of the city. You can get a nice unique food shopping experience here after all the retail madness from Drottninggatan and end up grabbing an informal/economical meal in the process! There's this little hidden sandwich place I really like on the bottom floor (somewhere towards the north-east corner) that serves pretty decently huge and cheap vegetarian Mediterranean style sandwiches! Let me tell you... Feta makes everything Betta! =) There's also a lot of nice sit down places throughout the food hall that range in price and quality. It's also fun in the summer to have everyone grab something for take-away from one of the stalls here and then walk to the park in Östermalm nearby on a nice day! An other thing to note would be that they also just added a new roof top terrace that you can grab a meal or a drink at with friends! Highly enjoyable city center place to stop in to if your new to the city or just looking for interesting grocery items! Four stars for the fun! =)

Yelp
Underground street market! This might be a normal market for swedish people but for foreigners this is deifferent and enjoyable. You will find a wide variety of "food shops" and products to buy.

Yelp
When I'm looking to get my good, fresh food for a night of cooking, I will come to Hötorgshallen first. The seafood, meat, and vegetables are fresh. I can't believe that they are all local, and I haven't bothered to ask, so until I get the balls to ask, I'll leave it at 4 stars. The teas, cheeses, and other gourmet products have a wide vast selection, but at a price. The prepared foods are a nice place to grab a quick lunch during a day of food shopping. Infinitely better than Ostermalms Saluhall if you have a choice.

Yelp
I've waited sometime to see the finished remodel of the area and its quite nice, all the same vendors and food with some new great additions like a lovely Italian Deli and Gelato on the entrance floor! Perfect for a quick meal before a movie upstairs. Good things!

Yelp
Place to find all kinds of food from most parts of the world. I love the smell....recommended
